The 1.9 TDi is the ideal engine for the Octavia. 74 kw is sufficient power (although it provides better dynamics in the small Fabia). Here in the Czech Republic, these cars are extremely popular. These later low mileage Mk1 Octavias are selling here for around $4270 which is quite a lot. However, the prerequisite for the long life of this car (and the engine) is maintenance, which the car in the video lacks. It would probably want to replace the injectors (possible reason of hard start) and also the turbo that is whistling excessively.
Yes, you can see how good runs on the Fabia test drive I did! And absolutely, the car needs to have a good service also repair the problems, but the owner is who have to decide :) Live long to MK1 Octavias!
