@1986dts apm is actions per minute, clicks, right clicks, keyboard actions, etc. build order is the method of which a player constructs buildings according to resource count and time elapsed.
@wintensity To think of new build orders vs certain match ups. A typical pylon/gateway/cybernetics core isn't that great and can be easily countered by a zerg rush.... therefore making new build orders to counter that takes awhile. You need to perfect the timing of when to build certain buildings, etc.
@donylee: the important thing about a nexus is that not only can they produce probes but that you need them to get resources. Nexus take a very long time to build; by losing that nexus, he would have lost a lot of time that would have been spent on getting resources. Those extra resources may have been a deciding factor in winning or losing the game.
@1986dts apm is called actions per minute basically meaning how many diverse moves can you control in you minute such as making a units moving units hot keying attacking microing/macroing and after you calcualte all that you get an apm scale when i plat tft my apm hovers around 130-150 apm pros are like in the 200s
@Tuvitob Micro is not all about speed, about stability and precision as well, that's why sometimes you see lower apm players having better micro than insanely high apm players. Having lower apm also makes you think tactically.
Ah, the new 3 hatch spire into 5 hatch zergling build :) Any chance the video could actually be audio-synced? The audio is ~1.5 sec ahead of the video. On the Korean version the difference was nearly 5 seconds. -.-
Hey guys, I am a Starcraft newbie here, really want to learn the game. Can someone explain to me briefly the importance of taking down Stork's second Nexus at about 8:30pm. I mean it's only aids production. I don't see the major disadvantage of the Protoss player if he simply cancels the Nexus, recovers the money, go Gateway or cannons for defense, and then rebuilt it.
Do you know how much they practice? They play about twelve hours a day at about 300-400APM and they have to think about every move their opponent makes. And on top of that, many of them get about an hour of physical exercise a day.
@OjFarm Because Stork is always calm, he knows what hes capable of and thinks 10 turns ahead, he probably had numerous backup plans ready if that nexus fell. And with the way Fengz played this game, even if he managed to take out that Nexus in that first attack, he probably still would of lost with all the stupid moves he made, letting the macro do his fighting for him.
@ppshchik I understand that there was a lot of pressure, but attack move should be reflexive at this level. I play amateur and I've yet to see anyone make a mistake like this.
@ppshchik thats why i wrote at least 300. have u seen 150 apm player winning with 300?=] hi-apm is a habit, they dont think about making drones etc. they think tactically too.
@brainwasher9876 Playing on a main stage and pressure are a huge factor. Fengzi was the champion of China but he admitted that he lacked experiences in big tournaments like that that's why PJ did better although he took 3rd place.
Dude, Fengzi had a spire, resources in the bank... He could have easily popped out some mutas and the zealots wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Instead, he kept spending minerals on lings, letting his gas get over 1000, and got his butt destroyed.
@stimpackedangelking not really, PJ defeated Savior and got 2nd place whilst a Russian player eliminated a Korean and got into the finals. Koreans aren't invincible.
They said that is not so important to have hi-apm. so we now see it is - low apm=wasting scourges/drones/lings in stupid way maybe not important to have 400+ apm but at least 300...
Dude, are you kidding me? Good players know exactly what opponent player can have at the moment. They know things like "if he goes nexus first, he won't have units early on". Fengz had to know that Stork has only cannons... They're not fucking noobs...
@infestedbigmac @infestedbigmac boxer doesn't play any games these days. because his play is much worse than before. He's such a old player and I don't know why, but Korean SC player's lifespan as a player is quite short I think. I feel really bad for him since he was one of my favorite player. Hope he'll come back someday.
I think this clearle show how mental blocks can be hard wen u play Sc fengz its so much intimidated to this KR pr player that he get all sllawpy and end up making a bunch of lings on mid game that wont worst to shit but at the opening he had all chances he only showld keep atacking the nexus and forget speed but u can see the pressure on him this shit makes me sad :(
@Halobenzene Really? If this would matter for any military, a pack of scientist would write drone micronavigation algortihm that would outrun all the manual keystrokes the best korean player would ever do.
@brainwasher9876 All pros make amateur mistakes sometimes. This guy is the guy who got 1st place in WCG China if he's really that amateur then he shouldn't have gone that far to the WCG world tournament. As the home champion with thousands for local audiences I won't doubt that you'll make indecisive mistakes due to pressure.
@p0werf00L yes u were trying to act mature ... i mean ur contradicting the obvious how can u say u weren't trying to act ? and u felt the urge to speak ur mind just like i felt the urge to speak my mind about the whole eu vs us.
North Korea is more of a liability than an Asset. China basically doesn't want North Korea to fall because if it does, South Korea, Japan and US can line their troops right next to the Chines Border and will be that much closer to Beijing
@ppshchik ok other countries have a chance, but with three professional Koreans, your chances are very slim. The chances of beating all three are very, very low.
He had stork, but couldnt he jsut kil the nexus at the beginning ? I think he should have group move lings when stork tried to kill his lings with his probes... And than he just backed down, after that he made som many mistakes. THough you can see that he is good... Why do all forgeiner get so nervous whne they playing with correans ?
