Lovely video with all the essential elements with some bonuses with your friend riding with you; she looks like a strong bike rider for sure. Smiles, miles, cafe stop, yippees, and TTFN you sweet soul Amy and stunning views indeed! Much respect to you dad too. Don't listen to that voice trying to put you down Amy; it's not true. Your mind is just looking to see if it can get you moody and focused on it. Its all bollocks, so you just let them pass like the clouds passing by the sky. Keep focusing on things that bring you joy and excitement. thanks for the smiles your videos give me every time I watch them. peace and love peace and love!

Chatsworth house is expensive. I've not been in but I've sat outside. On a sunny day. I think the road cycling is your thing you do what makes you Happy. I've always called them Body warmers as well next time you get one make sure it has plenty of pockets so you can carry your things on your body. Have a great weekend

Literally every time you post a new video Amy, I think to myself "that's the best one yet". Your content just gets better and better.......and it's because you can just tell how natural and honest you are. I love the Peak District. It's a bit of a haul from our home on the Isle of Wight, but what a place to enjoy being outdoors. We actually spent last Christmas in our motorhome on the site at Chatsworth Park. Had many great walks, including a fantastic jaunt over to Bakewell, via Edensor on a beautiful sunny Boxing Day. Love the walks up to Mam Tor and Curbar Edge. Hoping to go back soon. You're very lucky to have the Peaks on your doorstep. 🚴🚴

I was really impressed how well you did with your eating on PBP. You fuelled so well and you’re absolutely right about how to talk yourself out of slipping back into that ED mindset. You sound like you’ve got your tool box there to cope with what your mind throws at you! Brilliant stuff Amy. X

It might help to set a reminder/timer on your bike computer or your phone to remember to eat every ~1/2 hour, even if it's just a few bites of whatever snack is handy -- don't wait until you're "hungry"

I feel like cycling as a sport but in general a lot of things there is a big pressure to look a certain way and I feel with cycling being a power to weight sport people give themselves a harsh time on the weight bit when power is important. Don't worry Amy we all have days where we have a blip the main thing is that your okay and are safe

Relationships with food can be tough. A lot of it is psychological in my opinion. Like you said everything in moderation is key. I'm much happier when i'm fit and in good shape so to me it's worth it to eat very clean every day and indulge only once in a while.

Cracking views 😅I did Monsal Hill as part of Eroica 2015 on a 1974 Peugeot 10 speed with a close ratio block in toe clips. Nearly killed me! Anyway, you're right about difference. We should celebrate who we are and not try and fit into an artificial box driven by social media. I remember my first Sportive and rocking up to find every size and shape just keen to ride. Thought it was brilliant. 👍 Re the NC500, hoping to do it with my wife next year, although we've reached an age where comfort, fresh sheets and a hot shower are the minimum. 😅

We can get in trouble here is the US if we don't ride single file when cars come up behind us. Did you hear any honking lol? You don't seem to have all the traffic on the back roads that we do though.
@alaefarmestatesllc
@alaefarmestatesllc 10 месяцев назад
Serious? I’ve read we can take up the whole lane when we feel the lane will be safer.
@dkelly7159
@dkelly7159 10 месяцев назад
It's legal to ride 2 abreast in this country. Cars don't have right of way or priority here like they do in the land of the free. They don't like it though 😀
@duathlete827
@duathlete827 10 месяцев назад
That's true in parts of my state as well but it's also a matter of courtesy to vehicles. Sometimes it's safer to take up a whole lane on a particular street or road but impeding traffic can be also be an issue. In group riding, someone usually announces "car back" and riders move into a single formation as a courtesy. ONLY when it's safe to do so. @@alaefarmestatesllc

@amy.cycling.adventures
@amy.cycling.adventures 10 месяцев назад
It depends what speed you're doing we usually ride anywhere between 15-17mph ☺️ but we're all different and it also depends on how hilly it is a flat 200km will be quicker than a hilly windy one 😂

My girlfriend has a minor eating disorder. She bonks on almost every long ride we do, because she heads out for a 100 km ride with only a slice of toast for breakfast. It's so frustrating having to wait for her when she bonks.
