A 2800 lbs car with 800 whp should run low to mid 9's with a good launch and trap right around 150 in the quarter. Obviously this car was seriously impeded by a lack of traction (old tire tech plus wet, unprepared surface), and the excess weight of the drivers massive balls.
I saw it earlier this year. The owner Rod (not seen in the vid) sadly passed away a few years back, and Mark Shead in the video (MA Developments) has bought it from the family.
@@calt1296 Honestly, they are pretty soggy cars to drive and they are all or nothing with regards power delivery. Fords of the 80's were pretty dreadful things. Alot of it is nostalgia talking. Modern cars are better on every level bar driver feedback imo. Try one, but you might be disappointed.
@@calt1296 I cant dispute that they are awesome, they provided supercar levels of performance to the masses and they are an legend in there own right, but the games moved on.......
No we are promise summer on...... hang on let me look it up I don't want to give you any false information ....... right I'm back. As i was saying we get summer on the 14th July. But due to the corvid pandemic we got 3 days this year👍🏿
That is so nice to see. I Have a 770hp Sierra but I would not try to go to 300kph. 331kph is so fast. I am so impressed to see that Sierra is able to go so fast with more or less OEM trim. Respect to the builder and even more to the driver 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 FANTASTIC!!!
Reading some of the painful comments made me laugh. This was recorded 20 years ago and very few super cars could just about hit 200 mph. RUF CTR F40 ect. This was a big achievement. £46.000 was good value for 200mph. Today you can buy 2nd hand RS4 and RS6 spend around £10.000 and you can do 200 mph no problem. 21 years ago this was not an option. Please kids stop taking shit and do some research before my sides split from laughter. I know people who spend thousands of pounds on tuning Porsche and Ferraris and still could not break 200 mph back in the 90s and early 2000s. Back in those days when doing 180mph plus cars popped banged vibrated shaking and made some scary noises. I was lucky enough to have lived in Germany at the time so made full use of the autobahn.
@@calt1296 I have a Sierra 2000E in my lock-up and considering putting 2 Tesla motors or 1 motor sideways to power the front rear axels in it, with about 650bhp single motor or close to a 1000bhp with duel motors....
@@stat1865 130bhp but BIG turbo lag made them feel much quicker than they actually were. Nowadays a well driven Focus 2.0 Diesel would show it a clean pair of heels
@@johnsmith-nl3js You do understand that I am just poking fun right? But I do stand by the comment of driving 206 mph on a wet track and with no helmet in a car that is designed for much much slower speeds.
ive driven sierras at 130mph they handle like a bag of shite when pushed hard,,this must be a nightmare to drive but fun at the same time !!!!!!! like to know what hes done to the gearbox in terms of mods ???
@@shingosshojiopoulos6608 yes i drove many of these back in the day, when pushed hard they would be very hard to handle and jump from lane to lane when cornering at speed, thats why most of them ended up wrapped round a tree !!!!!!!
