The HAL-RSL-250-C-C1D1-X12I-1227 from Larson Electronics is a Round 2-wire LED Rope Light that is rated for use in Class I Division 2 suitable for marine applications, including boat docks, ship yards and perimeter lighting systems. The weatherproof luminary measures 250 feet and emits a beam of light available in red, blue, green, amber or purple output. This unit comes with an encapulsated C1D2 inline transformer for 120-277V input, which is stepped down to 12V DC. The encapsulated transformer on the HHAL-RSL-250-C-C1D1-X12I-1227 features a seal-off on both ends and surface mounting brackets for mounting the rope light to ceilings within Class I Division 2 hazardous environments. The HAL-RSL-250-C-C1D1-X12I-1227 should be mounted a minimum of twelve feet above the hazardous environment in locations such as tunnels and paint spray booths.
The HAL-RSL-250-C-C1D1-X12I-1227 LED rope light features 0.8 watts per feet for a total of 200 watts. This unit is compatible with 120-277V input voltages, which is stepped down to 12V DC via an encapsulated inline transformer (see cord cap options below). The LED rope light measures 250 feet with 1/2" PVC tubing. Reinforced with weatherproof protection, the solid state light comes with an expected lifespan of 100,000+ hours. During operation, the luminary emits a bright, beam with color output options of red, blue, green, amber or purple (no flicker, smooth glow). For customized lengths, it is possible to cut the rope light at every four inches. This flexible unit is suitable for wet location use, marine applications, and Class I Division 2 hazardous environments.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
Applications: Class I Division 2 hazardous environments where the rope light can be mounted a minimum of 12 feet above the hazardous area such as tunnels and paint spray booths.
