What if my battery is totally dead is it still going to be charge?? Do you have to wait for a little while until you see your lights on on the traverse
Due to the 2009 Traverse sitting so long battery ran down. I started it easily with TrekPow, then it died. Started several times then it would die. Can anyone tell me why? And what can I do now?
Hi Jacquie, if you have a battery that sits for too long it can be permanently damaged. I would check the battery and charging system before anything else. Once 12 volt battery goes under 10 volts it will often need to replaced. _Randomfix
@@RANDOMFIX It's a practically new battery! Chevy dealership put it in for me. It hardly has a couple hundred miles on it! What about slow charging it and resetting the remote?
@@jacquietrundy3891 trickle charging will help. After you trickle charger the battery check the battery voltage after you run the headlights for 1 minute so you get a good voltage reading and not a ghost charge level. If the vehicle starts and then dies again you will need to check additional systems. If dies right away they check the intake, compression, etc..... If it dies after a few minutes ( check the battery voltage after the vehicle dies, below 12.5 voltage) then check your charging system.
@@RANDOMFIX using a trickle charger from under the hood is sufficient? I tried jumping my 09 traverse with a portable jumper and needed to go to the battery's terminals directly and it started right up. I've had to replace the battery 3 times in three years. The dealership says there isn't a drain, I don't believe them, so instead of dealing with this every year I'd like to use the trickle charger just so I don't need to worry.
do not jumpstart a late model vehicle this way - There is a high possibility that you will damage one of the computers on one of the vehicles as the 2nd vehicle starts
