Sentra's with the 4 cyl and misfire.... Check the flex rubber intake snorkel hose for cracks!!!!!! Creates a vacuum leak!!!! Sometimes hard to see or maybe small or on bottom and or after re installing makes it a bigger tear between the ribs of the big flex rubber snorkel... Check it and double check...
Whats up man! thanks for your time spent informing viewers on all of your knowledge. Im about to go through these very steps on my Sentra, I know it is the Mass airflow hose (it has a huge tear in it) but I also know it is probably time for new spark plugs and coils too. Im also getting a P0171, any additional insight you might have aside from taking these steps related to your video here? Thanks in advance!
I have a 1.5 Nissan cube z12 cvt transmission and when I stop at stop light foot on brake I have a intermittent shake but if I shift to N everything is smooth 🙄 very annoying 🙄 would a bad plug be the cause?? Please and Thank you 😉
2010 Nissan Sentra had a frie behind the engine block on left side thanks a color I no is a black fabric with whih some melt it can you tell me what it is thanks
Keep getting a P0301 code after getting a P101 code after getting a too lean code already changed out MAS spark plugs and ignition coils any other ideas what it could be? Thanks amazing videos
@@RBTheMechanic yes just recently changed out all the coils and all the spark plugs along with all the gaskets and pcv valve just recently got p0101 to clean out Mas sensor its struggles going up hill and can't fully accerate and rough idle
Hey I really need your help I literally just did the same exact job did all four spark plugs all for new coil packs and here’s what happened. While connecting the connectors back to the coil packs at the time I didn’t realize it but they didn’t click in all the way. They’re putting everything back together the car fired right up and it drove amazing for about two days on the third day while driving my engine seem to lose almost all power and I had to pull over into a parking lot and get my vehicle towed upon checking the number one and number four connectors have vibrated loose and we’re not connected to the number one and four coil packs so of course I redo the job and this time absolutely make sure to hear the click on every single connector the problem is after completing the job this time and firing up the engine it idles fine and when you start to drive it seems normal until you get to about 2000 RPM soon as it hits 2000 RPM I’m losing power it’s not jerking or shuttering but the RPMs go up higher and it’s like the car doesn’t want to barely move it feels restricted like somethings holding it back I do not have an engine light on no one can seem to figure out what’s going on my car has been to transmission shops and even went to the Nissan dealer and they couldn’t figure it out. I’m at a complete loss right now I don’t know what it could possibly be do you have any idea what damage could’ve been caused by the connectors coming loose while driving on two of the coil packs?
Not sure why don’t u scan the car to see if there’s any codes I doubt it’s it connectors it would misfire check engine would flash and come on if that was the case
@@RBTheMechanic I did scan and there’s no current codes. I took it to my buddy who had a better scanner and he was able to see under Permanent codes there were a few Transmission codes but no check engine light on. I’m looking into that today. It’s probably going into Nissan dealership tommorow. Starting to look like a transmission problem. 130k original CVT.
If one has a misfire for example cylinder 4 -------- is the misfire actually at cylinder 4, or the 4th cylinder in the firing order ? My Scion XD has a firing order of 1, 3, 4, 2 - would a cylinder 4 misfire code actually be in cylinder 2 ? Thanks, RB
Mode 6 scan shows a misfire cylinder 4 , once had an engine code p0304. My question is : does cylinder 4 actually mean cylinder 4 ? Or does the code refer to the 4th cylinder in the firing order ?
S H You can use scan tool to see if other misfiring but u can remove one coil ant a time and see what happens several way to test but you can fix that one cylinder and check it by starting the car
I got a 2012 Nissan Sentra & I get the code of 300 & 303 I already change the spark plugs & coils pack but still get the codes. Also I change the fuel injectors thinking maybe no fuel is going thru. This is the second time I change the spark plugs when I change the first time the spark plug on #3 smell like gas but I had another friend look at it & he thought it was oil so I’m not sure what to do next. What do you recommend
Sorry my last comment was a little off, i actually believe I need a crank shaft positioning sensor and new spark plugs! I will say if you can confirm this @RBtheMechanic I am very handy and can probably do it by myself!! depending on whats needed!
Could I do that myself? Also I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra and I know you said some Nissans don’t have maf but map sensors and I’m wondering if that includes my car
@@RBTheMechanic hey again sorry about earlier. Look I changed the plugs and the coil and change the oil air filter but the is still doing the same before
PLEASE HELP! After screwing in the new spark plug, my short socket wrench would be stuck inside and would not be pulled out along with the extension bar! All my tools are new! thank you!
My girls car has the same code mechanic changed new spark plugs and new coil packs but the service engine soon light came back. What’s the problem. I got the right spark plugs and coils. Car runs fine too. Been running fine for a month but the light won’t go away.
Hi, thank you for the video! question, i have a 2009 Sentra 2.0 that basically looks the same, im doing a compression test in it, do i need to take the air manifold and install for every cylinder?
Not understanding what u mean but to do compressor test u need to remove spark plugs disconnect fuse injects so they don’t spray fuel and use ur tools to do the test also press gas peddle so throttle opens to give good air to enter
@@RBTheMechanic yes. I had to put it back together because I couldn’t get those bolts out. When I am back under the hood within the next week I will take a video. How long can the car run on a misfire?
rick barajas check you injector connectors spray some brake cleaner around the intake gasket area see if there’s any difference some times air leaks in but if not then try coil on that cylinder
RB The Mechanic thank you brother! I tried the wire test but I don’t know what to look for? I disconnected the coils one by one and the first one that gets taken out doesn’t react, the other three taken out it begins shaking car, I can hear the spark being produced tho but the car doesn’t react to the fist one being pulled
Pull out the spark plug see what it looks like I hope ur head gasket is not blown white sign means coolant burning pull out the plug try new plug or swap it with diff plug from diff cylinder and swap the coils also
@@fffelipon well bro you have to do you own research before you go to mechanic and have the work done before you go to anyone mechanic but once u build good relationship with ur mechanic trust me he will be good and honest I get customers come to me that spend $1000s over and over so I keep it real and add extra stuff for free that’s not gonna hurt me like free oil change with brake job free brake bulbs or flat fix small things $300 profit wount hurt me if I gotta do flat fix or bulb change but anyways it’s all about sticking with one mechanic. Local mechanic would be idea
Hi! Can anyone help? I have a 2010 nissan sentra sr 2L 4cylinder and i would literally be flooring it and my car would barely accelerate. It often hesitated and there would be times where it wouldn't reverse I got the following codes: p1777 from a code reader! A couple weeks after getting the code, I got a diagnostic from a very renound company and they claimed to have gotten codes p0420 and p0300. bit they said they did not get my original code. To make a long story shorter, they replaced my enitre catalytic convertor as a result and not even 5 days after they assured me that was the problem and it was fixed my car broke down. I did even more research and found that with some new spark plugs and a new stepper motor my car would be back to normal. I kinda know the answer to this fIrst question but DID I JUST GET SCAMMED?!?!? My other question is what the hell is wrong with this car and how do i fix it? Is my research correct or am i way off?
@@RBTheMechanic Well, the catalytic convertor has been switched and the car still wont power. Do you think if i switched out the stepper motor and the spark plugs (based on the research i've done on the codes that's what's needed) that would do the trick? I don't have much experience with cars but your videos are so descriptive I feel like i could tackle this on my own! I have all the tools available to me and it would save me so much money! Let me know if its possible! Thank you!!
