Sorry for the quality of this video. I could not find anybody else with this repair online, so I decided to make a quick video before putting my car back together.
I showed very little of the cable replacement because that required almost no explanation. There are two cables inside the door. One operates the outside handle. One operates the inside handle. A similar problem could happen to either.
Any time you are working on the insides of a door, the main benefit is knowing where all of your fasteners are and how many need to be removed.
Order of reassembly:
1. replace cable
2. Place entire inner panel back into the door
3. Place outer handle back in place to make electrical connection
4. slide window back into place and engage two tabs in two window holes (having a helper is a good idea!)
5. replace all eleven 7mm screws to attach door panel back onto door frame
6. replace three T30 screws in side of door
7. connect three electrical connections and cable connection to cosmetic door panel (reconnects inner door handle)
8. replace cosmetic door panel by lining up all plastic connectors
9. insert two T25 screws through cosmetic door panel (under static door handle)
10. reassemble outer door handle back onto the door.
11. Insert T25 screw through side of door (and carefully line up with outside door locking mechanism). Turn approximately 4 turn to lock into place.
12. Replace plastic cover on outside door handle.
