I have 2010 I bought in April 2022 had it for bout 7 months with 2 year warranty ND replaces the whole engine and it came with 132k miles and now it has 145k in 7 months having the car I have flowmaster super 10 exhaust sounds really good almost like a v8
Great vid. Thanks. I’ve wanted a gen 5 for a long time, and finally made the jump. A flawless synergy green RS fully loaded, manual trans, full leather with 24000 miles. Probably paid too much at 20K, but the cars is stunning!
Great video man. Looking at purchasing a 2010 1LT Camaro tomorrow with 85k miles for 13k. Feels a little steep, but car prices are jacked and I’m in the need for a new car
This is super helpful for me because I want to get a 5th gen camaro for my first car and then upgrade to a 6th gen ss camaro after and I wanted to know if there are any issues with older camaros because a lot of people say chevys run bad after 100k. Thank you
@@mmv_mark Still goin strong i recently had to replace the starter nothing major, and yes the market is crazy rn but u can still find a decent deal id go for it !
@@AlexAlex22023I’m going to see a 13’ LT in 2 more days or so, 100k miles trying to hopefully snag it for 10k🙏 old owner, gentleman in his 60s, 2nd owner and garage kept. I truly wanna get it bc it’s coming from him, def was taken care off
I just bought a 2010 v6 camero and it's an automatic with 105,000 miles on it. I wanted to know what type of gasoline you use and think is best for the car?
87 octane should be fine. Its an 11:1 compression engine, so a tune with 93 octane would likely gain a lot of power. But in stock form, 87 octane is fine. Mines at 125k miles on 87 octane and all is well
@@CaptainThirdGen okay cool I've been using 89 midgrade but I was going to try using 87 since it's a little cheaper since gas prices are crazy these days. I'm enjoying the car and it's drives great for being over 100k and is really fun to drive commuting to work and back home everyday.
2011 rs package with automatic and 71,000.. is this a terrible price? Heard also the automatic transmission has problems and the cars were recalled for a turning off while driving. Do you know anything about that recall.
what price? the 6spd automatics are actually better than the manuals. 6l50 is a very good transmission. and that recall was primarily for chevy cobalts in the ~2007 age range when people would hang a bunch of garbage on their keys.
@@CaptainThirdGen couldn’t get it down to 10k I understand the prices are super jacked rn but I found another 2012 with 70k miles for $12k owner won’t take anything less it was listed at $13k should I go for it?
@@CaptainThirdGen Awesome!!! thinking about getting these with an LFX 3.6 v6 commodore, some say the LFX is improved and doesn't have the timing chain issues like on the older ones.
I'm looking at a 2011 v6 Camaro with only 12,000 miles. The Carfax shows that the owner gave it oil changes every 3,000 miles. Is 21,990 too much or a good deal?
Interesting. I just looked at one 2010 today with 10K and it is immaculate and they are asking 19.5K (dealer) but it is ... um strange. It has some striping, and is badged with ‘ Racing Edition’. It is very bare-bones - 6 speed apparently but there are only left button controls on the steering wheel. The right cross-piece has nothing. Popped hood and clearly V6 (with K&N). Doesn’t match up with any special editions I find. What is this thing? Oh and it has some kind of push-button start added.
@rocco_s10 Exactly. It was perfect and I've never seen a 2010-2015 camaro with low miles being as cheap as 15,000. All the ones that cheap have high miles.
if its been well maintained it wouldnt bother me at all. These cars are built well. 100k miles on a 2010+ camaro is like 60-70k miles on a 2000 Camaro. These are solid cars
@@keithhernandez4319 got it with roughly 107k in 2020. Has over 130k now in 2024. Gave it to my grandpa, whom is driving it now. Has some fuel injector wiring issues causing a misfire, but that has been resolved. No timing chain issues yet.
@@CaptainThirdGen well I was told that the early fifth gins had that timing chain issue more than the 2012 through 2015 V6 Camaros I had a 2013 last year for seven months and it ran great and it had 107,000 when it got totaled so I’ve been looking for another fifth GEN Camaro but I wasn’t even considering a 2010 or a 2011 because of the timing chain issue was told they had
@@keithhernandez4319 the LLT (2010-11 for camaros) is worse for timing chain issues than the LFX (12-15) and LGX (16-24). However, my family has had several LLTs, in camaros and other vehicles, and have yet to have a timing chain failure. Changing the oil, and keeping it full is key. Change oil every 3-4k miles with full synthetic, and keep it full in between changes, and the 3.6 are pretty decent engines. But when those chains do fail, its a big expensive job to fix.
if you can talk him down to around 6k id say go for it. The one in this video was bought at 107k miles for $6500. The car market is so out of wack right now it may be better to wait until prices come down a little
@@CaptainThirdGen ahh, so you had only driven the car 3,000 miles or so since purchasing when you made this video? That makes more sense now because I had actually watched your video talking about how much you HATE the Aisin ay6 gearbox & the clutch in this car before I found this video
@@CaptainThirdGen arrgh! You have no idea how disappointed I am w/ Chevy for picking that jap-trap to throw in a Camaro! I wuz planning on making an "impulse" buy on a 2012 this weekend w/ only 5,000 miles on a fresh lfx 3.6 & the AY6 manual but decided to pass after doing my homework on the AY6😔 I have YET to find one single review where anybody who's ever actually driven a good stick shift car is in love or highly praises the AY6! The absolute best I could find from real owners of this tranny are people saying things like "oh, I haven't had any trouble out of mine" and " i've got such & such amount of miles on mine & it still works" etc.; but they ALL seem to agree that the brass synchros suck & you CANNOT shift this transmission very fast!?! Plus the fact there is many more negative reviews then even semi-positive ones... I'm sorry, but if I'm gonna give up my 4-door automatic sedan for a manual coupe Camaro, knowing me I'm probably gonna wanna drive a little more 'spirited' from time 2 time! Is that too much to ask? It seems the new Tremec TR3160 in the 6th-gens. are much more solid than these as they use some kind of bronze w/ carbon fiber synchros & you can actually find reviews where people love the shifting & actually praise this transmission! If only it would bolt right up to a 5th gen. Camaro v6 I might be in business b/c while I do like the idea of a lighter Camaro, I'm not in favor really of a smaller one which the 6th gens. are so I really do like the 5th gen. body styles better even though they ARE a little on the hefty size🤷♀
@@CaptainThirdGen what’s a ballpark price for a 2010 with 121,000 miles on it ? When they call me tomorrow I’d like to be a little more educated on this vehicle
@@CaptainThirdGen buddy I understand what ur saying but I crashed my 2014 camaro 2lt rs and sold it to the dealership for 17.5..it was a big hole in the back of my car from a guard rail 17 ain't too much for a v6
@@2VShiesty unsure. seems to be electrical. nasty misfire that shows its face under load. very odd issue i havent been able to track down yet. PO30X codes so all misfire stuff, no timing chain codes
@@maxbakker5194 it’s holding up really good actually, mine was overheating but that’s because the person before me beat it up and didn’t take care of it. After a few small fixes it wasn’t a problem
@@bendergod5747 The car itself has been pretty good up until yesterday. I tried to take good care of it as much as I could but the previous owner must’ve really messed it up because my engine burnt up yesterday. Heavy knocking and it won’t start. what people dont understand, prices for these cars are up, funny how some people still offer pre covid prices lmfao, kudos to those that got with the times and bought one before they get bought by someone else
Stop saying "110,000 miles" over and over. You act like that's a lot of miles for a vehicle that's a 2010, and it's not. There are vehicles that are 2010s and they have more than 110,000 miles so it's good this one only has that amount of mileage. You said "110,000 miles" like a trillion times, even put it in the title. That's average mileage for this year, in fact, a little lower than normal.
