Hello, here is a Volvo with a non turbo 3.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine that was overheating and what I did to fix it.

Same problem on my 2012 S80 T6 , Getting the module tomorrow, hopefully replacing it will fix it.

Had the same problem with my S80 V8, But first I replaced the coolant temperature sensor.. and the fans would still not turn on once in a while the fans turn on after I turn off the car and they ran for a couple minutes but not when the car was running, then I replaced the fan control module and everything worked as it should.

Interesting. I have question for you. Looking at a 2011 xc60 with the 3.2 that had a bad oil leak that also overheated while they were driving it. I checked it out and the oil level was ok. underside covered in oil. I'm sure the pvc is clogged. When I started it, it ran rough. Could the oil leak cause the rough idle or maybe a blown head gasket?

Typically oil leak unless it’s such a heavy one that causes low pressure inside the engine and poor lubrication won’t cause it to run rough, could be blown gasket or many other things.

Brother I have a 2007 volvo s80 3.2 fwd, I’ve recently replaced the water pump, all the hoses, and a thermostat, I even removed the thermostat and I’m still not getting coolant to circulate any ideas?

@@jacobdemarino4404 Try to check for clogs, maybe there is a clogged radiator or something else.

So I checked my radiator and all the hoses again and I have full circulation with the water hose, no clogs, is it possible the guy I had install the water pump could have made a mistake without it leaking? When I squeeze the hoses it will circulate without the thermostat but when I start the car it will not circulate the water by itself

I have a 2010 volvo s80 but where do I find a temperature gauge to see if my car is running hot..I don't see one on the dash, will it just show a message when it runs too hot? thank you

You will have to connect a scan tool to it that shows live data.
