As an Italy fan, this Spain team that won 3 international titles in a row (2 Euros, 1 WC) was the best team I've ever seen. They would just not let you have the ball. And let's give some credit to Iker Casillas - the best goaltender ever - He has won everything there is to win as a football player.

In my opinion, there will never be a spanish team s good as the one in 2010, with Iniesta, Villa, Torres, Puyol, Casillas, and the rest of the 2010 spanish team.

I'll never forget the moment Iniesta scored that goal. We were in a packed bar in Venice Beach, California. Half of us were rooting for Spain, the other half, for Netherlands. When he scored that goal there was an eruption in the bar unlike anything I have ever seen watching a sports match. My ears were ringing afterwards.

Looking at the footage, it just looks so old fashioned now. Watching this as a kid it didn't seem old fashioned but now it really feels it

The most iconic world cup and you can't change my mind. I remember being a little kid watching the game on a big tv. I wanted Spain to win because I loved red. They ended up winning and I was so happy, I felt like I was apart of the team. This world cup had the best songs and the first and only one (most likely to change) hosted in Africa. Spectacular world cup, words can't explain how sensational it was.

That Spain team was something else, Prime 29 year old Casillas and prime 24 years old Ramos at RB and prime 23 year old Pique and Veteran 32 year old Puyol along with Veteran 32 year old Capdevila at LB, 2 great CDM 28 year old Alonso pair with 21 year old Busquets was a wall to break through. 30 year old Xavi playing as CM was unbelievable. 26 year old Iniesta as attacking Right and 22 year old Pedro as attacking left was unstoppable with 28 year old Villa as a goal machine during that tournament. Spain only managed to score 8 goals but that all it takes to win the WC 5 goals for Villa and 2 goals for Iniesta and 1 goal for Puyol.

Dani Jarque, from Barcelona arch enemy Espanyol, unfortunately passed away while Espanyol had been at a training stage in Italy. Not only is Iniesta a world class player, but a world class human being.

Spain really doesn't get the credit they deserve for their success over the past 5-6 years. Let's be honest, you don't win back-to-back European Championships and the World Cup by fluke. 20 years from now we're going to look back on these Spanish teams from 2008-2012 as one of the best national dynasties of all-time. Btw I'm not even Spanish nor am I a fan of the Spanish. I just respect how talented this team truly is and it's a shame others don't see it this way.

The Dutch always had some of the best football players in the world, which is why they literally play in all foreign top level competitions. Plus the way Spain played was actually the Barca way of playing which is really the Dutch Johan Cruyff way of playing. That's why this finale could have been epic. This 2010 Dutch team really deserved to win and had so many people rooting for them, but they ruined it themselves in that finale by playing dirty instead of playing football. Spain played dirty too, but the Netherlands took it to another level. When Nigel de Jong did that karate kick I knew it was over and no one really wanted the Netherlands to win anymore. Spain played great and the Barca players made Johan Cruyff proud. If there was one year that the Netherlands was done injustice in a world cup finale it would've been in 1978 against Argentina which was obviously bought and sold. The Netherlands should've won that one, because all the stuff Argentina pulled to make sure they would win was a disgrace and they were definitely not one of the best teams.

Just watched Spain lose to Russia and it definitely broke my heart because I was hoping for another 2010 ending, especially for Iniesta

Being a Spaniard I had thought that I would never see my country raise the world cup and this tournament was absolutely awesome not only for the win, but for everything that was shown on the pitch by every country taking part.
