2010 what a great year✨

2006, 2010, 2014...oh beautiful. I'm just going back to these games and I'm pretty shocked how EA could ever try and why they won't.

This was the first football game I ever laid hands on for hours on hours. Genuinely loved it

Netherlands Antilles is no longer a country, funnily enough. They dissolved about six months after the game came out, and is pretty much now just Curacao and a bunch of other countries that are not FIFA members (but are still members of CONCACAF, funnily enough) The Unlockable entries didn't unlock kits, but they did unlock other items like boots, celebrations, the Classic XI, and even the Jo'bulani, the ball used in the final of the 2010 World Cup (EA released the code to unlock it once Adidas had officially unveiled said ball). If you win the World Cup with certain countries the commentators will go on about the country winning it and what it would mean, not just simply one line of "Spain win the World Cup!" The 2014 standalone game even had the line of "Four times finalists, first time winners." if you win as the Netherlands.

This brought a tear to my eye, I remember it all so well as a little 10 year old😂🥹. We lived the golden era

I remember back in 2017, I was hyping myself up for the inevitable day EA would announce a new World Cup game. It was a bit of a tradition; EA would announce a World Cup game in January of the WC year and a few months later we'd get an epic game. World Cup 98 and 2002 FIFA World Cup were basic and focused only on the tournament but fun. 2006 FIFA World Cup was a huge step in the right direction; 127 teams, qualifying, scenarios, etc. This game and 2014 were legendary, they completely outdid themselves. I was so disappointed when it was announced 2018 would be DLC. This 2022 World Cup DLC manages to be even worse. Completely stripped down of features even World Cup 98 had but plenty of Ultimate Team/online crap which is what EA wants you to play. Irony, because Battle of the Nations on 2010 and 2014 are infinitely better. We get 45 international teams in 2022 when 2010 and 2014 gave us 200. 2022 gives us 2 stadiums when 2010/2014 had all the World Cup stadiums and regional stadiums. 2022 only has WC mode when 2010/2014 had different qualifying modes. 2022 doesn't have scenarios. 2022 is lame, 2010 and 2014 are awesome.

Holy shit the intro with the instruments. I remember hearing that all the time as a kid a had no idea what was from. And i got a "shock" of nostalgia when i saw the angola and vanuatu flags again after so long i remember picking them time against my brother cuz u thought they looked cool. And also those little scenes when ur fans get upset. I remember seeing those all the time cuz i lost all the time.

Genuinely one of the greatest football games of all time for me. Amazing on the pitch, and so much to do. So we'll executed. Even the daft Wii version is awesome.

You have to try the Wii edition! It has Zakumi's Dream Team, the best mode by far. You had to play each qualified nation and beat them in order to get one player from them until you reached the last level: Classic XI

You could actually watch the World Cup draw when you qualified for the World Cup finals which was cool.

The last proper world cup game was 2014. The 2018 and 2022 DLCs have been very shallow.

Good news is ea doesn’t have the fifa license anymore so another sports company could make a stand alone World Cup game for 2026

2009-2014 was an elite time both for FIFA and football in general. It really has fallen off

And the worst part is, the teams now dont even have the proper players in the game mode nowadays, and you CAN'T EDIT THE ROSTERS so players are missing smh

It was a skillbased game, without the stupid "momento" to manipulates the outcome. But somehow it still maintained its casual gameplay, so you could compete with better players withou sweating like modern fifas. Every goal was earned. You didnt had the garanteed 9 goals every match. It was rare like in real football. And one of the coolest thing ever was that ranking where players could gain points for their nations and try going up the ranks. It hiped you even more for the world cup!

Bro no one plays as South africa, I swear. It would be such a challenge.

2010 when Fifa games where top tier with many features for offline gamers like Captain Your Country, Story Of Qualifying, Road To The Fifa World Cup. The Fifa 23 World Cup mode was ok, I enjoyed it but 2010 and 2014 were so much better. 👍🏻
