Very helpful, I watched this video so many times and did it today, I added sound deadening to the trunk and this video was on point with everything that needed to be done. Helped me tremendously and I was done in so much less time.
For anyone watching - the camera connector is not waterproof and prone to corrosion causing all sorts of problems (no camera, reverse image, other gremlins) - clean and add dielectric grease to the connnector
Endeavoring on this escapade now. Handy to have a heads up how it pops off. I am also going to take off the rear applique so I can install some aftermarket rear facing tail lights on the hatch. Then run the wires around the window and hide it with the trim. If I can pop the grommets or access where the wires come through between the hatch and frame I'll try to do that so I can keep everything hidden. But ultimately I'm going to have to run the wires to the tail lights and connect them there since my idea for a 4 pin connector won't work with the lights I got with a decelerometer on them.
What kind of symptoms Were you receiving or seeing on the camera? Was it a snowy screen? A black screen or any other problems, I’m having an issue with my screen.
It was the camera. I reviewed other RU-vid videos where they were saying the connector was not a weatherproof connector and was susceptible to corrosion. I figured I would check the connector first before replacing the camera. It was worth the effort to remove the panel and I found it even easier to re-install.
