I installed same way found I had a mis fire on 1 and 5 found a forum and one of the users had same issue and flipped the 2 big connector, but first u have to disconnect the 3wire connector that goes to the clutch worked for mine and this thing is awesome ........flames and gunshots hell ya!!!!!!!

It was an easy spot to mount, the plastic won't rust, and its easy to adjust.

FYI anyone looking to do this install these instructions are wrong at least for a 2014 GT. You want to tap the BLUE wire into the BLUE/ORANGE at the BOTTOM of the clutch assembly. Called MSD support and got it right on the first try.

Just installed one on my 2007 GT500 looking forward to next track day. I added a switch to it on the wire to the clutch switch to deactivate it when driving on street, not really needed but would activate occasionally when letting clutch out on a slope, of course it depends what you have it set at whether this will be helpful to you or not.

Can this be used as a no lift shift? Like say if I’m shifting at 6900 rpm and set the 2 step close to the redline rpm. To me it seems like every time I push the clutch in to shift gears at wot it will achieve the effect of having a no lift shift feature.

I used the tap provided and it is not working. Is this a result of a bad connection? The red light I on and all of the coil packs are installed properly

Nice, but didn't like the mounting location, might scratch your hand doing a filter cleaning. Would have liked to see how clean the wires ended up also.

Hello I am having an issue where the 2 step is still activated even after I’ve launched. Any time I reach the rpm it’s set at even when driving it stops the fuel and starts the 2 step. Any ideas of why this may be happening?

You can as long as you can reach it to flip it on and off.

Stang Dad no. It just sets another rev limit. So you set it at 5.5k and it wont go past that when you're on the clutch or button. But it doesnt do anything to the transmission. Which I assume you have an auto.

For the solid blue you wore it to a ground switch and do not use the ground provided. In example when the solid blue is connected to a ground it activates the 2-step. So wire in a ground switch that is hand operated (little red button or flip switch style) then connect the blue wire to it. Remember not to connect the provided ground.

Launch control and this are two different things. This is simply rpm control. As you can see when she took off in the parking lot it roasted the tires.

lmfscrew Agreed, but Ford markets and sells that option as a drag racing tool. Not in same way that other companies market their launch control. Great example of this, is the linelock feature on some current Mustangs.

I installed my MSD 2 step on my 2015 5.0 step by step pausing the video each way till finished. I got the light an everything. Tapped it into the black with green striped wire with the tap that came with the MSD 2 step but it is no activating like its supposed to. Any suggestions? Could the provided tap not have worked like it is supposed to?

I would make sure you have a good connection for the tap, i used a different style because I was not familiar with the one provided.

Bill Tumas changed out the quick splice connector with a new one from advance autoparts. No luck on correcting the issue. Can you show a picture of the quick connect you used? Cause right now I'm lost. Followed the video step by step an triple checked all connections. Still get red light with accessory power on. When I start the car the red led goes off. Should it go off once the car is on?

CJ Pony Parts hey bill I just had to pay 300 to get my car out of the dealership after triggering the fet in the BCM wiring the MSD up as the video. The tech printed me the wiring diagrams for 13-14 and then the 15. On the 15 the lower clutch switch goes to the BCM. I just called in an asked them to pass my number to you. Hoping we could talk over the phone so I could get a little trouble shooting help. I attempted to call MSD an they were no help. They basically told me to kick rocks

I installed this on my 2013 and at first it made the car misfire. So I changed switched the two grey and tan wires and the misfire went away. Now when I push the clutch the red light comes on on the 2 step but it doesn’t hold rpm my ground is good and my 12v source. Anything that you could recommend because I’m lost with this thing.

I try to mount MSD stuff inside the car as they fail quicker from heat and engine vibration ..looks simple enough however..Us Automatic guys have no transbrakes :(

sometimes you have no choice but I know MSD stuff esp two steps and rev limiters get jacked up in the engine bay..Then one day your at the track chasing a miss and t turns out to be your module ..Happens

excelerater if the 2 step messes up will it cause misfire? I'm currently having a misfire in cylinder 6&8 after I activated my 2 step 2 days ago. I've OhM the coils an they check good, I replaced the plugs to be on the safe side. But still getting a misfire. Today I'm gonna uninstall the 2 step an see if this corrects the issue. Again I didn't have the miss till after I activated the 2 step.

So the problem is, you know the two clips that connect to 2 step... So when I put the red one with black wired the red indicator turns on but when the car is on it goes away, so when I switch the clips around the red indicator is on but it gives me check engine light, what am I doing wrong

Hey Bill, I just installed mine and immediately the car has a CEL for the coils at idle and while driving it's very poor. The car is a 2014 GT and everything is installed properly because I just did a tiny 2k stall try with the 2 step and it worked however, the check engine light is still an issue and the misfiring is still very bad.

It only accuates with the clutch all the way to the floor. If you are shifting at high RPMS and going fast you shouldn't be pushing the clutch to the floor so it should be a non issue.

It can be used but you would need a trans brake to take advantage of it.

It doesnt launch from that RPM unless you want it to. You're still in control of the gas. Basically this allows you to floor the car then it will reach the set RPM then stop.. It wont affect normal driving one bit.

Unless you're going to be matting the gas every time u stop the car then why? There's no need to turn it off cuz it's only on when you're trying to launch. So if you launch all around town it's on you.

DJ LATINO you need to buy the right MSD 2 step box. This one is made specifically for the 5.0L coyote. You need one made for your engine. Because the harness would be different. Other things maybe different also.

Shock Legend the sound tube has a rubber ring around it that you can punch a hole through and feed the wires through or just put he wires through and then put the sound tube back in
