After fluid change if you get a traction light on dash and clunking when you shift disconnect battery for about 10 minutes. Im telling you from experience

All the more reason to make sure you’re changing the transmission fluid on almost any automatic transmission between 30-60k. There is no magic fluid that lasts forever. I’ve heard Ford say the interval is 150k on some of its vehicles! That’s insane if you intend on keeping a car for more than 10 years and 200k miles or more.

Roughly how many miles did you have on explorer when you drained/filled fluid? Has any slipping re-occurred yet? Thanks!

Around 90 thousand miles. No issues yet and it just hit 100 thousand.

How long does the vehicle need to run before you can get an accurate level reading on the trans dip stick

I just drove it until the engine temp was up to normal. But I check it often.

I have the V6 3.5L. If you completely drain the trans that may be the refill capacity. In my case I didn't completely drain it. Thanks for watching!

Yes. The issue I had with the transmission is gone. I need to do a fluid change again though to get more of the old out. But definitely something you should do.
