This video will show you how to drain the cooling system and replace the thermostat plus housing and replace the coolant pipe and refill the cooling system with fresh coolant. The factory plastic parts used for the cooling system are prone to failure overtime so I upgraded the coolant pipe and thermostat housing to aluminum ones made by Dorman. Parts were purchased from Amazon and I have provided links to them below.
Dorman Thermostat Housing: amzn.to/42MSWLS
Dorman Coolant Pipe: amzn.to/3TPMU8X
Mopar Coolant Concentrate: amzn.to/3LZVCj9

On my LH Chrysler 2.7L takes about 8.5 - 9.5 quarts. I use two quarts concentrated and fill the rest with 50%-50% mix Mopar. Worked really well.

Got a SECOND misfire #4....first time was cylinder #1 $1200 repair because of a "loose" lifter. Just replaced the thermostat and now I need struts...it's a 2015 300s and it's time to GO!

I agree with you. I told my daughter not to buy a Dodge or Chrysler product you’ll have nothing but problems and as you can see from all the videos I’ve already done on this car 😂

Mine is leaking coolant inside of the oil cooler set but is not the oil cooler because I just replaced too is coming out in front of the oil cooler I could see it drip down in front of the oil cooler wall in front of the thermostat and that thing that you just replace you think I have to replace that too

My daughter got rid of the car after about six months of posting this video but within that time she never had an issue.

Just replaced my thermostat on mine but it keeps leaking coolant from the bleeder screw. Any idea why?
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE 7 месяцев назад
Sounds like the o ring isn’t sealing correctly. Are you using the plastic housing or the updated aluminum housing?
@7.62Ak
@7.62Ak 7 месяцев назад
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Yeah it’s a plastic housing that comes with the thermostat already in it. And I was thinking the same about the o ring too so I went and got another bleeder screw with a new o ring and still the same.

So if I am doing one job (spark plugs, oil filter housing upgrade, thermostat upgrade) it makes sense to do all three at the same time, correct? Any other upgrades I should consider while I am doing all 3?
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE 9 месяцев назад
No that’s pretty much it those three things the oil filter housing, thermostat housing, and coolant pipe are prone to failure and then of course might as well change plugs while your in there and don’t forget the upper intake plenum gaskets.
@ryanmcalister1188
@ryanmcalister1188 9 месяцев назад
Thanks again@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE ! I was wondering if it also made sense to do a water pump too maybe with a metal impeller but wasnt sure if the factory one was suspect or not.
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE 9 месяцев назад
@@ryanmcalister1188 haven’t really ran into the factory water pump failing that often. I’d say if you have high miles go ahead and change it out since the cooling system will be drained.
@ryanmcalister1188
@ryanmcalister1188 9 месяцев назад
Thank you again for the great video and advice. I have just over 90k miles but while I am doing all, I think I will tackle the pump too since the price is not that bad. Again thanks and good luck!

Only lists 300, charger, and challenger? Is there a reason these parts wouldn't work on the pacifica or any of the other models they stuck this turd in?
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE 7 месяцев назад
It shows the Pacifica is a little different and these part numbers won’t fit.
@ricklong3218
@ricklong3218 7 месяцев назад
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE That's interesting?! It's the same engine and all the internals are the same, why are the externals different, because it's mounted transverse? Or did they make the plastic thicker 2017+ to "fix" the warped, leaking plastic problem 🤔 Wife's Pacifica is a 2018 and have the leaking oil cooler issue. Wanted to fix any other issues while I had the top half of the engine torn apart. Going to do plugs and pcv when I do the filter housing. Has 75k on it now. Had a lifter fail at 22k and took out a cam, under warranty, thankfully. Still considering doing head gaskets as well, since these are known to fail in these turds
