I agree with your point to stay out of the middle lane as that truly is insanity, so he should stay in either side of the road and only use the middle lane as a final resort if trying to pass. But going that fast around the corner is only stupid for a normal person, if you drive that fast and you know your car, ESPECIALLY with one of those early model A3's it's completely fine :D

I drive mostly in the City and it does 6 km/l on average. On the highway it goes 11 km/l tops

No, it is not. The speed limit on the highway is usually between 80-120 km/h and 50 km/h in the city.
