For a while I thought this was an American thing because in the US almost everyone just goes for huge power because they only care about drag racing and don't even care about having to do multiple runs they just want to be street racers at a stop light. But I guess it's Europe too lol.
That 1 series is bloody flying. Look at the angle of attack it takes through the corners, it’s set up to rotate deep … amazing. I hope you got a drive in that this year !
Have had mine since 2009, bought brand spanking new, bloody lovely car, never played the radio whilst driving it, just got a brand new 24 340i and never selling my 130i 6MT with 252 000 km on the clock and moves like butter!!
I love that this video is about a RS3 and the most people in the comments are talking about that gorgeous 130i! Such a underrated car, but those who know, know
I had the same N52 in it's 255bhp form in a Z4 and it was an incredible engine.. low down torque/mid range with a sprint at the top... BMW perfection imo.
Wait, it is your car sigmationMedia? I will tell you one thing. I bought a GTI 7.5 Performance because of you. You have such a good video that I have been watching for more than one year. Unfortunately I had to sell it due to financial issues I had. I still want to buy it again once I can.
Yup it's almost like a knee jerk thing to do at this point. The worse case is people who watch firework displays behind the screen and will never play them back, but if they do the footage is awful (don't ask how I know 🤪)
These 8vs are good. My track car blew a head gasket before I was supposed to drive at Willow Springs, in Mojave California. Middle of the summer. The S3 I brought instead handled it well and it was tuned, didn't overheat or anything. Car was fun to drive too and it was just a S3. I'd like to try the RS.
I have an 8v rs3, but i didn't buy it to be fast around the track. i bought it because it is really fun to drive, and it sounds amazing! It's hard to beat the 5 cyl sound!🙌 The 8Y is miles better in handling around the track tho!
@@john90097 used to have a f82 m4, but traded it in for my 8v rs3. I drive my cars every day, also on rain and snow, so the rs3 is the perfect car :) Plus, the rs3 sounds better😁
Much better than the last rs3 that's for sure. I can't wait to see you rip around the Ring in a properly prepped one. The 5-cylinder symphony is one of my favorites.
The bmw should be a 130I (tuned or not). You can recognize it by the exaust. The 130i is the only one with dual pipe on left side. Rest has single pipe or >130i dual pipe left and right 👍🏼 Edit: yes you are right but base of car was probably 130i
Two exhausts on the left were also on 135i, but that was not produced as hatchback. Since it is getting away from 400+ car on the streights it must be swapped or boosted engine. 130i has naturaly aspirated 260 HP and is not that fast..
E8X never came with pipes on both sides, the biggest engine is the 135i and it’s dual pipe on the left Single in Both sides came for the first time in the F2X 1 series So thats a 130i at best (at least stock it was), the way he moves theres no way it’s stock, probably super or turbo charger ou swapped
@@petrsvetr6083 I can't see a straight where the 1-series is building a gap. That speed they are doing at the end is good for a laptime just shy of 8:00 BTG. That's doable for a good driver with a natural aspirated 130i and a good setup.
My dad had a 130i. Maybe it was circa 6 seconds to 60mph, certainly not quick by today's standards. I felt the n52 engine in them was so boring...felt like a flat linear torque curve that just ran out of puff at about 6k. Drove another one recently and it was the same experience. Would love to know what they've done to this one to make it so quick!
@@Sirodjw The torque isnt flat due to lack off effort by the engine, its due to the disa valves open and bringing the torque back up to an even level. Its worth looking at a 130i dyno graph. Kinda interesting to see.
Awesome. I still wish you'd do the behind the driver shot again like the cayman vid. then we can better map steering input to the track. doesn't do much to look at track, back at your face, back at track. its not immersive.
If Misha gets humbled and says someone's fast then he really is FAST! At the end of the track you can actually see Misha get all serious and fully focused on that 1 series. Amazing entertainment.
I did all the power mods first but now that I'm here I should have done suspension mods first lol. The power is cool, but I'd much rather have a nice set of coilovers, sway bars, etc. great video as always! love seeing RS3's driven on track. Personally not a fan of springs (tried the H&R HAS springs on mine), the ride feels mushy and a lot more uncontrolled to me. Going straight to coilovers when I get there. I will say, camber does make a pretty big difference. I like to throw 034 camber plates on my car in the summer when I start going out on cruises and all, and even with no other suspension mods I notice an improvement.
I checked change of tyre presure from start, so in time : 1:30 it was 2.4 bar=35 PSI 4:20 it was 2.7 bar=39 PSI...in this moment yellow mark in icon of tyre showed on car dash...it took 1:50 minutes to reach limit presure in this car. and maximum was around 3.1 bar=45 PSI Every tyre heats up different, but many tyres have maximum PSI limit ! ! ! All infos are written on tyre. So check it before you go on track and try to calculate to consider come with lower presure to start because you know it will heat up to certain presure which is best for handling. Hint : if you do not have typre presure senzors in your car BUY ONE, because you can with them reach much longer tyre life, driving effect and which will also save you money !!!
Always wondered how the Hankook Ventus Evo perform when properly used. I drive them on my Seat Leon Cupra in daily use and they feel absolutely fantastic on the road. But yeah as I expected it seems they can not hold up if properly used on track.
I love the whole discussion about the 130i in the comments. I have one of these, heavily modified for the track and small power increase with decat headers and engine map. Go watch the videos of Alex Hardt with his 130i. These cars can be FAST if driven by someone who knows the car and track. Don’t discount them by saying it must have an engine swap etc… also people saying slicks : it’s TF so no slicks allowed
I have the same car with mods and it's great but that car obviously has power mods with means FI, which makes no sense with N52, so it's obviously a swap. Most likely an N54/55. I've taken mine on the track and my X5 diesel has similar times. So yeah obviously a swap.
Apparently goodyear eagle f1 supersport do well on track too. Tyre reviews tested them and they lapped a bit faster than ps4s's with less mushy feeling after they're hot
I have them on my rs3, and i love them. I used to have ps4s but wanted to try something different. They feel and drive really good (even on the Nurburgring), plus they are cheaper than the ps4s!
If it's the same, i found that bmw on sale, lots of chassis mods mentioned, engine seems to be pretty stock... This means that this thing is damn fast at cornering 😂
the best thing in this video was the black bmw ahead using ALL of the road and absolutely flying...looked great....gave Misha a bit more "incentive"...but Audi said...nope.....
500 hp with those tyres is bad, and dangerous in my opinion, but ok. The car is fast, the new RS3 is better but this is not bad. And the sound is awesome.
Is that Beemer 4w drifting most of the high-speed corners? It looks like he has set the angle of his turn before the corner and sends it with no counter steer. Looks fun watching him!
All that extra bhp with average Han’cooked rubber…🙈. Fit a thicker rear ARB to balance the chassis a bit and fit some better rubber, even for fast road use. That understeer was painful to watch. Certainly a fast machine on the straights though, and that 5cld is an absolute peach..🙂👌
the understeer on most Audi (except the r8) is crazy. You would think after all those years that they would have figured it out but nope, those thing still doesnt handle that great sadly and Ive driven so many audi model.
I'm taking notes 😂 I just bought a 8B (old) 😂 I had the same ideas to upgrade suspension first! I think the car has plenty power as is... With the TFSI engine And tune brings a lot more without expensive mods..
"Bla bla Nordschleife bla bla" ,... Bro is not realizing that he co-drives at 280 km/u on Schwedenkruez..... You already started the lap with way too much pressure in the tires.... just saying....
love the video and look forward to my first rounds on Nordschleife this year. any recommendation to have the truck empty like this? which days are the best to go for the first laps with less traffic? of cause - being fast is the best argument for not being pushed from others ;-)
Good cars for the Autobahn, not so good for everything else. If they at least would have been available with a manual I would consider one as a daily. My TTRS was manual which actually made a quite fun driving experience.
Super nice empty track but still sadly two yellow flags. Was really nice watching you drive on that empty track and being able to just enjoy the whole width of the track.
