No need for apologies. Thats the integral part of any job I reckon...for the record, I did follow your trick to put the belt on the tensioner and it worked the absolute treat. When I turned the car on and the whole set up worked, I felt such sense of pride and accomplishment. Thanks again for sharing the video Max!
Love the take the tire off idea. I do it on my Subi H6 for the plugs. Taking the tires off helps on a lot of front wheel drive vehicles. Access is increased, headaches reduced. Great vid
Daytona DLS1214 was the spanner I had to eventually buy to attack the tensioner with any degree of confidence. Had to take the belt of to swap out the alternator. Not a fundamentally hard job but finicky. Don't forget to use WD40 if any screws on the alternator are stubborn - after all its not a frequently changed part. This video helped greatly with the belt part of the job as this was the first time for me to swap out the alternator and tackle the fan belt (serpentine belt) solo.
