2011 iMac 27 Black screen No display Repair - LVDS connector replacement 

THANK YOU 🙌🏼 what a amazing moment to see how you fixed my iMac. It’s so sad how easy that port broke when I had to replace the failing SSD drive from 2011 in it. Once I got her home and restored everything from a time machine backup she was faster than ever! I did upgrade to a RED SSD WD server grade drive. Now she’s faster than my 2018 MacBook Air. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been telling everyone about you 👏👏👏

I had an opportunity to speak with the extremely nice lady there about your services. While explaining my motherboard issue, I told her that I can weld, do carpentry work, solder a lot of electrical items, and even wired my home when I added on. But, I cannot do what you do and am mesmerized watching a craftsman such as yourself work his trade and I greatly enjoy consuming your videos hours at a time. While recently watching one of your videos (maybe the one where you dropped the customer's iPad screen and had to replace it at your cost) you went on to say in your commentary that you could just have told the customer that the damage occurred during shipping which would cause him to pay for it but, although some businesses have no qualms about doing that, it wouldn't be right, morally, ethically, etc. You went on to say that religion prevents us/you from doing those kind of things but what I was MOST impressed with is that you took it one step farther, and in a profession of faith, said publicly (ON YOU TUBE) for all the world to see and hear, that GOD knows what you are doing. And for that, I am even more impressed with you and your ability to serve others with your great talent. Please keep up those wonderful videos and that honest work ethic strong. If you have black screen problem read this before you attempt any repair: ok, this is very weird but, i would have to keep dimming my screen to get it to work, and under one of the videos i was watching tonight, someone said they had the same black screen problem, and he turned his brightness all the way up and after a restart the screen came on. Thinking when i increase the brightness just one bit, the screen goes off, so there is no way this will work, but i gave it a try, and to my surprise it did :) I have a mid 2010 27" i7 2.93 with 32 gb ram. Since i started having this problem, one way to get around it was to hook up an external monitor and mirror the screen. So i increased the brightness to the max, on the imac monitor, and restarted the computer. When i increased the brightness, the lcd did not come on, but it did after the restart. Only 10 mins in to it right now but it seems to be working just fine. Let's see how log it goes!

Hi there your work is amazing always perfect soldering i assume its also down to the quality of the tools and equipment you use too. I also notice that you use flux all the time but u obviously get great results with it. Another question like when you say your going to the tip on the soldering iron do you have to wsit for it to cool down otherwise you will burn yourself??? You seem to change them quickly. Also like with this repair does the customer bring in the hdd aswell so you can fit it while its apart rather than get it fixed take it home n then try n disassemble again n possibly risk damaging it again?? I have an iMac just like that one and I tried to reset the bios. I’m fairly new to resetting but after a lot but not too much research, I messed up the bios I believe and now the only thing that happens to the iMac is the fans turns on and off repeatedly and only the first led light stays on, even pressing the power doesn’t do nothing.. Anything I can check for or do for this situation? Thanks

When you use low-melt, are you using 138 or chipquik? Also for any DIYers watching, be careful with how much solder you use on the corner anchor pads furthest from the pins, solder can easily wick into the connector if not careful and using too much.

I need some help, i spent 2 days with Apple support no luck, my Mac Pro 2011 has question mark issue- new hard drive was added-old one had issues, tried to boot MacOS by USB Sierra and even tried El Capitan and it doesn't boot nor it goes to recovery mode-gets stuck to white screen. My friend was able to boot the Mac in Windows 10 version, apart from that no luck at all. Please could anyone recommend me steps i missed, or any way for me to over come this?

Nothing worked on my Imac 2014 27 running opencore at all it just black screened after booting it up with thunderbolt to hdmi connected. The onlly thing that worked was plug it in let it auto start into black screen then power it down. Then hold down power button shift control option for 10 seconds and it only bloody came back on !! Nothing worked no recovery no internet recovery nothing apart from that. I even tried popping out ram and that didnt work either.
