Great Video. Dealer wants $4,000 to replace “leaking” compressor/valve body on my 2014 Overland. Stuck on off road 2. 😂. Purchased new rebuilt assembly off Ebay (one year warranty) for $225. Will attempt the replace with nitrogen. Worse case go manual shocks you instruct👍. Will update after the results. You rock👍
How can I remove the air suspension compressor and put in a new one and not lose the nitrogen when I disconnect the hoses? Second, is the same proces to Jeep Grand cherokee sumit 2014 ?
Not sure why but we have a 2011 Grand Cherokee Summit with Air Suspension and never had an issue. We use it daily and lower it to Park height on every time we exit. Rig is 12 years old and still perfect. Hopefully most owners have the same luck as us. Currently we are on a 3300 mile vacation with the Jeep. We love the adjustable suspension.
we have a 2012 Overland with the air suspension too and we also use it every day by lowering it whenever we park and like you, we have not experienced any issues with it.
I am so grateful for this video and yes, the dealership wants about four grand to fix this and it is not a half assed repair. This actually works so don’t be scared to try it guys. This guy is really on some thing definitely earned my subscription, and a thumbs up.
PLEASE HELP How can I remove the air suspension compressor and put in a new one and not lose the nitrogen when I disconnect the hoses? Second, is the same proces to Jeep Grand cherokee sumit 2014 ?
Hey guys I know this is frustrating and hopefully I am not too late for some of you. It took me some atime but I think I got this. Follow this video but when you get into the WRITE THE SUSPENSION HEIGHT VALUES let the app read your truck sensors, then let your truck adjust its height and then STEP OUT FROM THE TRUCK AND MESAURE THE DISTANCE FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE WHEEL TO THE EDGE OF THE FENDER AND WRITE THIS VALUE FOR EACH SUSPENSION. After this your truck will adjust to its original height values, meaning this will adjust the normal, exit, off road 1 and off road 2 standard heights of your ECU System. Hope this works for you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mtVLk7WP2wU.html
Thanks for the video in my situation my compressor is no longer working and the vehicle is lowered to the ground do u think I just need just an air compressor only ?
Your switches all work, you can buy a complete reman from eBay or a used on , if you want to do a cheap way T the front and T the rear and put a Schrader valve on the 2 and use like conventional air shocks , if they bleed down then have a leak or purchase elimination kit to regular shocks struts
If you live or drive in cold areas, you might want to purge out the air and refill it with nitrogen. Atospheric air has moisture in it that will eventually cause the compressor to freeze up in cold weather. With nitrogen in the sytem, there's no moisture to freeze, so it will work fine even in below zero temperatures.
What about when you t the front together and and same with the back, but it won’t lift?? What if anything was i supposed to do to the fittings on top of the struts or the line from the tank
@@dansimonian627 if your putting a T with a shrader valve in it for the front and another for the rears then u put air in it like convectional air shocks if that’s what you did and still don’t lift them u have leak
Nice Video, where can I purchase the T- Connections? I'm getting fed up with all the Quad lift problems, it's costing a fortune. Thanks for posting the video.
hello and did it work fine in the end with the air you put in or did you have to take it to the dealer, please tell us the end of the story, thank you.
Question I’m having this problem but my car went all the way down to exit level and the shop is only getting codes for rear also the rear is what went done first then eventually the front also went down the shop believes my compressor is cutting on but just because it’s cutting on could it still be the problem ?
The compressor compresses the pressure the valve block controls witch strut to go to , there are complete remanufactured ones out there make sure your struts don’t leak pressure first or best way is to delete them with the strut kits or make yours into air shocks front and rear
@@richierock1300 so I had if at the shop they guy is basically saying he believes the pump is working but just because it’s cutting on doesn’t mean it’s working properly right? He was able to get air in but the rear passenger lets down soon after he claims he doesn’t hear or see any leaks I’m leaning towards pump
Sounds like bad valve block you get a complete reman on eBay or get a delete kit with struts and springs or if the bags hold air can put a T in it the frt together and a T rear together manually put air in them
I don't get it. It seems to me you've repaired the defective compressor with a used one. But instead of going to Jeep to have the system pumped up with pure nitrogen again you just use air (they use nitrogen to have no water out of the air in the system in case it gets very cold and lines could freeze). But why? I refilling nitrogen at the dealer so expensive?
How much water is really going to be in there if any at all maybe a tablespoon i have separator on my air plus I’ve worked as a tire tech 45 years ago never seen water inside of a tire
@@richierock1300 There's moisture in all air. If this moisture freezes in the winter, the air suspension will become better noperable at least until the temperature allows everything to thaw out. So if you don't live or drive in a cold climate, filling the system with air is fine. But otherwise, use nitrogen to prevent freezing in the winter months.
Yes there’s moisture in the air use a separator on your compressor line your only filling one time and how much is it really going take in a tablespoon if your lucky
@@richierock1300 Trust me, it takes just a small amount of moisture in the air suspension system to cause freeze issues. That's exactly why Jeep specifies high purity nitrogen. Even normal nitrogen contains too much moisture, so they tell you to fill with nothing but high purity nitrogen.
Great video man out of no where I just started having issues with mine today I got out the truck turn it off to go in the grocery store all I hear is the compressor staying on ughh so I took the fuse or relay out and it stopped ?
Ok I bypassed the relay pump comes on. My buttons keep flashing saying I’m on off road 2. But I’m not it’s completely deflated… any idea what I should check from here
My jeep just went down all the way and it won’t pick up, I check the fuse and it was burn I put a new one, but it burn it right after I turn on the car, do you have any idea what it could be ?
I would say the compressor is shot remove right inner fender skirt and unplug the compressor it’s the biggest connector then put another fuse in there or a circuit breaker and see if it blows if doesn’t then it’s the compressor if die blow then shorted wire somewhere, they seek suspension kits to eliminate that crap or just put T s in it like regular air shocks front and rear
@@josepaniagua5782 you can get a reman pump on eBay or possibly a used one , or put 2 T s in it one for front and one for back under the hood or put eliminate kit on it struts front rear
Going to have to pull fuse or relay in the small fuse box underhood , then find out if you have any nitrogen pressure in the tank on drivers side behind rear seat , otherwise compressor assembly with valve block bad , or eliminate
question i replaced my entire fuse box and pcm (my air compressor wasn’t working, i mechanic told me to go with regular suspension I DID) now the air compressor is working and pulling the electric do you know how to help with this issue
Install a T in the 2 rear lines and a T in the front 2 lines like they use for air shocks and just put compressed air in it as long as the struts don’t leak air
Probably a dumb question but, is there a specific size of line and t connector and Schrader valve connection? Also, is it possible to replace the connectors that are directly on top of the shocks, with Schrader valves. The Voss connectors I think they are called. Thanks man. I appreciate it.
Just read a comment about the t setup being like regular air shocks so I can probably research that. Just wasn’t sure if the sizes of everything were standard among most air shock setups.
Hey buddy, quick question I have gone to AutoZone, O’Reillys and Home Depot and I cannot find this airline and this T fitting and valve that you used in this video. Where did you get yours?
