In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2011 Mazdaspeed 3. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This car looks sweet. The spoiler, those wheels fit the car great, the smiling front grill is also a cool design. Even the hood scoop fits the car well, doesn't look too over the top. I would definitely own an MS3. I'd choose this over the Focus ST.

First off I want to say I love the complete detail you give of every car. That being said I am slightly disappointed that my least favorite review is of my most favorite car. You didn't say the amount of boost it makes, or how it is dependent on the gearing. Or that the only option is a 6 speed manual. It also has a LSD as standard. Let's see a review of a modified first gen mazdaspeed 3. Many people are making 500hp on these, with a handful making up to 700 hp! The turbo induction noises on these cars with just an intake and turbo inlet pipe are amazing!

I think it's impossible to ignore this car's styling. The good thing is, that it accomplishes this feat, without being offensively ugly. This design is quite a few years old, yet it still looks fresh, youthful and vivacious, specially with red colour. The interior design also has a lot of (pleasant) personality.

Damn im pretty impressed with this speed 3, Mazda has really stepped their game up with this car...great hp and torque numbers plus LSD and functionality of the inside of the car...looks like a pretty good buy...the only thing i think is missing is AWD but thats ok....oh and great job as always Kyle!!!!

red gauges, nice. They say that the color red doesn't hurt your night vision, but when I am sitting behind a car at a traffic light at night...wow those tail lamps are bright

hid headlights, auto adjusting headlights, led tail lights, auto dimming rear view mirror, and you can only get navigation on the grand touring. its mainly cosmetics and exterior styling not much different. i have a black 08 mazdaspeed 3 grand touring. amazing!!

I'd sure like a MS3. Own a regular 3 and that's a blast to drive, but it could use a little more oomph. MS3s seem to hit the spot. Good for as a year round DD w/practicality, fun, and overall usefulness. :)

Andres Francisco Coincidentally enough, I ended up getting a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback back in January of 2015, since my first car got totaled, and I needed a car pretty quickly. Mine was about $20,000 brand new, which was probably around the same price of a MS3 2013 (they only made them from 2009-2013) with a good number of miles on it (maybe around 50,000?), or a 2012 with a little less (maybe under 30,000 or so). Then about 2 months ago, I saw a really nice deal on a 2004 Miata, and decided to get that as well, especially since I wanted to learn how to drive stick. So I'm loving my Mazda duo x) They're such fantastic little cars. It's nearly impossible to get great gas mileage because of how much fun they are!

Depending on how you drive, one could get ~21-22 mpg City, and ~33 mpg Hwy (so long as you stay off the boost).

i must say i really like speed 3s, however, once i drove the GTI i just couldnt go back to it. The power on the MS3 is awesome, but I am very happy with my stage II GTI, higher quality materials. I am not hating because this mazdas look really cool on the streets and respond incredibly to mods. I can only keep up with the slightly modified ones......that till I get my K04 of course ;)

@cacarca Another point to consider is maintenance costs. Which is very high on most German cars. In fact, on a study before, VW and Audi were consistently on the top of the charts in terms of part cost and replacement. But if you can afford it, by all means, go for it.

A great looking motor.. I had one for over 7 years... and in this colour... but the replacement model did not feature a performance version.. which is a shame as there is always a market for high B.H.P

Yes, the Mazdaspeed 3 is of course Japanese, but some of the electronics in this car like say the head unit are made by one of Mazda's suppliers in Malaysia.

@BraylenPA Yeah nowadays people focus way too much on the looks of a car. There is far more to a car than just looks. This Mazda is fast, corners great and is nicely equipped, not too expensive to run and maintain etc. It's the same thing with the new Acura TL, fantastic performing Acura but people can't get past the styling.

I've always been a fan of Mazda. Had a 323 many years ago. If I were in the market for a car around 20k I'd definitely look at this, but I'm not a fan of the smiley face grille.

6.3 is a rather conservative number for 0-60 time. My 2013 Speed3 regularly gets it in 5.8 to 6.1.

@greenfaction4 That's a fair point. I have heard that VW was plagued with problems during that time period. I hope I don't run in to any major problems, then again I don't think I'll have the car up until 100k miles. Maybe I just got lucky with mine.

Yeah I feel you man, and those same idiots praise the GTI's interior in comparison tests, I mean WTF??? The MS3's seats and interior accents actually seem to be racing-inspired, while the GTI's seats look like someone stitched pieces of an old man's golfing pants to a life vest from the Titanic.

@derekjlight I prefer more power so that is why MS3 is the choice. I have owned and driven worst cars than both the MS3 and the GTI. Im sure i can live with a little torque steer. Try driving the VW past 100k miles. How do I know? I used to own a 98 Jetta. It was fun to drive until it started giving problems. I don't know how reliable they are past 100k mile since I gave up on VWs. Judging by consumer report about VW I would say there are still where I left them in terms of reliability.

i drive both, this has better interior but cobalt is alot more lighter and nimbble. this feels nose heavy but still fun car

lol I mentioned this on another Mazda3 video like a week ago, Mazda has that small ass LCD screen for the nav that is so small it makes it useless. Notice how Kyle had to have his camera like 2 inches away from it just to see what the hell the screen said.
