Game 2 of the NBA finals would arguably be the best game of the series. Miami look to take control of the series after a game 1 victory but Dallas have come to play.
This was a huge legacy changer for Dirk, before this he was thought of as a choker and this is now what people remember from him I'm happy he got this one
Unpopular opinion: LeBron saved Dirk’s legacy. If LeBron plays average in this series, and just a bit better in the 4th quarter, Heat win in 5 games. Not to take anything away from Dirk, but Dallas barely won with LeBron playing like shit. Heat should have won the series pretty convincingly.
Dylan Graham blame lebron james for that Wade lead them to 15 pt lead and after that when james took the ball and he keeps missing jump shot after jump shot rather than driving to the paint.
It was extremely reminiscent of 2006 game 3 when Dallas was up 2. That changed the series. This game did too. Miami had a fight on their hands and they knew it.
@@thetruthtruth-it5cf mavs clog the lane with JKidd and Marion locking the driving lane that leads open mid/3pt range for LeBron thats why he couldnt drive and just shoot bricks.. I'm curious how you said that, you didnt even watched the game do you, just highlights?
That celebration of Wade and LeBron with 7:14 remaining in the 4th in front of the Mavs bench gave life to Dallas. That arrogance came back to bite them soooooo hard.
It was mostly LeBron.. Wade stayed focused. Wade was already a champion he knew that clowning around with 7 minutes left in the game is not what will win you championships.
You can't tell me this isn't the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history. Down 15 with about 7 minutes left and all the momentum going against them, this is incredible.
@@hennessyblack2121 Dwyane Wade was the best in the world at the time if that's what you mean. Dirk was the best player in the playoffs that year and also probably 2006.
bernard james Well, there isn't much to prove really. If you haven't figured it yourself, I think it will be difficult to make you see it because it was fuckin blatant.
11:04 this showed the maturity of Lebron compared to the maturity of Wade, Wade knew it's never over. The next year, when the Heat are up in the final game against the Thunder, Chalmers starts premature celebrating, and James stops him. He learned, and matured. Only way to win a championship.
I’ll always remember the corner 3 by Wade, followed by the aggressive celebration by James. It looked like the game was over, but I was hoping for another 4th quarter comeback and I’m so grateful I got to see that unfold. Without a doubt, it will go down as one of the best come-from-behind victories in NBA Finals history.
joey820 The most Horrible officiated Finals I've ever witness. They literally told The Mavericks we don't give a Shit what you do it how you do it. Your not winning this Championship, SMGDH!
Victor Gomez Bosh was not known for good perimeter defense. Haslem had been guarding Dirk for most of the game, so it was weird they would just change it for that final play. Also, Bosh would be your best guy to guard the paint and go for a rebound, so having him out on the perimeter guarding the best shooter on the field was kind of strange. I don’t think it was hilarious, but for sure questionable.
I watch this game replay and WCF game 4 VS Thunder whenever I am not feeling well and depressed and almost all the cases, it uplifts me. Many many thanks Dirk for delivering performance of the dacade!! You are the athlete of this decade along with Roger Federer IMO. Danke schön!!!
As a Lakers fan, I gained so much respect for Dirk and this Mavs team when they came back to win this game and then go on to beat this intimidating team in 6
Eric Jones probably mine too.... even though I was super young, I still remember this historic comeback... I remember yelling it's over for the mavs... and my dads like stfu and watch the game... and BOOM
@ensayofr you watch the heat in the playoffs this year? 1 game away from the ecf. only took 2 years for pat riley to rebuild. taking 5 years for mark cuban to get to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
It depends on how you think about it. The shooting itself is easy. But making that decision to let Chalmers to shoot, instead of the big three, the previous several fake screens, requires high courage for the coach as well as those players.
As much as I wished Miami won this finals and Wade got his fmvp, I’ll always respect Dirk and the Mavs. He truly defied all odds and carried his team to the championship. Still mad though 😤
I didnt know it at the time, i used to wonder...🤔 Q - how did the heat lose to an aging maverick's team when you have 3 of the best players in the world? Q - what made dallas so good this year opposed to any other year? Q - how do you win the championship with an aging team with nothing but jump shooters what was the key? A - their basketball IQ was too high for miami to deal with.
Bklyn988 nah not mavs’ IQ. Lebron ain’t ready. You can tell the difference this year and the years after. Heat needed this lost to change lebron’s mentality.
@@Manu-qq2im The Mavs swept Kobe before playing the Heat, so they are indeed the better team and therefore they win. Not in term of talents but better execution and chemistry.
CS Y nah. Miami would beat any team in the west at that time. Miami before the finals was a very different team. Only dwade remained focus the whole playoffs. Lebron before the finals wasn’t that same lebron. Like I said, the heat needed this lost to change their mentality as a team and they beat better teams in the finals than this mavs team.
lebron was paid to lose ....so the next year he could be redeemed since in 2011 even if he won the fans would hate him due to winning right when he teamed up....its all rigged
12:28 one minute left in the game, if Lebron ran back on defense he could have stopped a Mavs point, but he just stood there. This is why he's not the goat.
Everyone forgot about Bron's lethal point guard right there, people talking about Rondo and Caruso Right now but they forgot how much help Mario Chalmers was on the championship run
This was so clutch, on the part of the Mavericks. They, basically, just about had to win this game, since and because they would go on to lose game 3 of this series. And, improbably, the managed to do so.
Start showing the part before they go on commercial breaks and the replays, this is one of my favorites. Some guy name Eisesglut(don't know how to spell it) used to do these a lot.
I love Dirk "Frankenstein" Nowitzki and I was so happy to see him winning. BUT witnessing 3 eternal losers such as James Wade and Bosh lose after "bringing their talents together" was the biggest satisfaction in NBA history. I also love Marion's shooting form - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--H0EjcoMZRk.html
All spolkstra had to do was isolate one side of the floor and get a pick and roll with dirk force a switch or them to go under and bron could have won this series but lack of coaching killed it. Also bosh was getting fried bacon
There is no moment in MJ’s career where he went out like this. Even in MJ’s losses you never saw disappearance. He was there the whole time and the other team was always supposed to beat MJ...he never lost as the favorite.
Instead of taking that off-balance hail mary shot, wade should’ve just pass the ball to Mario Chalmers, my man was open as hell..... Also, that celebration of Wade & James was too early.
Miami was like Holy Crap we had a 1-0 series lead appeared to take 2-0 series lead on Dallas with 7:14 left in 4th quarter. Then after Wade hits corner 3,he holds the follow through up,as he and James celebrate thinking we got this, only pissing Dallas off as Mavericks even the series 1-1 here and eventually winning in 6.
Haven't you heard? LeBron is the greatest defender/scorer/passer/blocker/finisher/facilitator/ clutch shooter/ rebounder/ post game interviewee/ dresser/ leader the NBA has ever seen!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@dreday5880 in contrast to the 2016 Finals where he chased Iggy down the court like a freight train. In this clip he was lagging so hard that he barely even made it into the frame
@@MrTcavanaugh1 Yeah but who knows if he would've hustled like that had Kyrie missed that shot right before. My guess is he would've been sulking and/or crying to the ref about how a foul should've been called.
@@dreday5880 the 2011 finals really is bad stain on lebron career, but look what he has done since then. Even a bron hater has to admit he’s redeemed himself. I know there’s been a lot of final losses but look at the context of the games, 2011 is the only finals lebron didn’t perform
