Completely unnecessary. Use the trim tool to pop our the switch area. Takes 2 seconds.

Yea i just damaged the plastic cover trying to do just the switch… this way better for sure

You could have just used the trim tools to pop out the switch assembly. No need to remove the whole door panel.

Yeah the way that door panel is made its likely to break doing it that way. I just do it the way the factory procedure recommends on this one. On other models I have removed that trim piece like you are saying

I might be wrong but I think on the 2 door cars you can pop them out without pulling panel maybe. On the 4 door you usually damage it trying
