Hi Eric I need some help. I bought a boat with a spare engine, being a 15hp four stroke evenrude. Now the screw locking things that hold it to the transom? One works fine but the other is jammed, so it won't screw down on to the transom plate. I've tried soaking it in wd40, liquid wrentch, even heating it with a Brazing torch.........it won't move! Any ideas would be most welcome. I thank you for your time n this matter.
william avery sorry to say it but whoever told you that an evinrude is a 4 stroke is not on the smart side. All evinrudes are 2stroke and require a special oil to mix into the petrol. I had a similar issue and I just used brute force to spend it up after a lot of hitting it with a mallet. Thanks
