5* I'm from Germany and I really love german racecars BUT this renault alpine is really really nice! good work ;) I hope to see AND hear it at 24hours race nürburgring next years :)
Well done Renault, this is a beautiful car and it is obvious that the car handling is and will be magic, go and produce it and I will become a proud owner. French Car Manufacturers have demonstrated for years that they are capable of beating any other car brands in terms of performance and product reliability (Citroen 8 times consecutive winner of the WRC rally world championship; Renault in F1 (with Red Bull these last years, with Prost when he was active); Peugeot also dominated Le Mans series
so there are still people working at Renault who live and love cars instead of all the plastic shit the produce. This is the best they have developed in the last decades.
What are you talking about, my 2003 Clio is still almost new after 13 years and 116.000 km. Low fuel consumption and 100+ hp, small and large at the same time. We are also getting a brand new Duster soon. What is your problem?
If we talk about the DS range, yes, it is a the same Level of quality as Audi A1 to A5 and BMW 1, 3 and 5. I'm not talking about the top of the range of German cars, it is an other world.
I really really hope they gonna take it in production.. But if you own one of these... you just don't want to put a license plate on it O.o.. Superb car!
I wonder which kind of gearbox they fitted in this one: it seems super fast. A double clutch auto a la DSG on a French car is long overdue. As this is a prototype/show car, it's probably getting an Aisin or Getrag for the moment though. Given the reputation of the chassis of the Megane, it sure can cope with more power, but 400hp? I can't wait for track reviews...
Ma ma Miahh!! Quel son cette voiture!! Ils ont mis quoi comme moteur?? Nissan skyline?? Une chose est sûre, s'ils font aussi fort que pour la megane Rs trophy , elle va envoyer du lourd cette alpine?? Le record du nurbogring en propulsion est visé ?? Pourquoi pas!! A suivre!!
c'est un moteur de Mégane RS Trophy justement. Renault avait annoncé 800 kilos sur la balance pour son bolide, si c'est vraiment le cas cette voiture va être une bombe (pas une Weber F1 one mais quand même)
Renault's F1 engines were so good they got banned from F1 racing cuz they were kicking everyone eles's butts and owning for a long time . it's about time they put that expertise in a road car.
After to made a PERFECT FRENCH RULES on the most important World Championships (F1, WRC, Le Mans Series") the FRENCH POWER IS COMEBACK ON THE COMMERCIAL ROADS !! :-)
10a) 3) Afterward even when France was reconstructed & had become again a rich Nation, the French builders remained on this niche of cars cheap & economic & left the market of the very luxurious & ultra sports cars at the top of range which they dominated before the WW2 for the alone ... German...
Cumbas you are so right. The problem is that children like TBS3169 (who doesn't have a S8 other than in Forza 4) are delighted by big chromy alloy wheels, silly power outputs and spine breaking suspension from ze Germans. On the other hand French cars are great handling, smart looking, advantgardiste cars for the non-possers. BTW the most powerful car in the world is French and the Citroen DS the most beatiful not for fans like me but for the media.Regards.
Bugatti are 1 of the numerous old famous French & great brands but it was bought by the German VW 5 years ago :-( But no problem as I said in my last message & the part 11a-end) ^^ Now we are in the 21th century & as until the WW2 if the French builders decided to rebuild great & luxury cars no need for them to take again Bugatti, to became the best ! Look at the current hight level cars of Citroen or Renault for examples, the French are comeback also in the market of great luxury cars !! ;-)
Probably BMW´s Mini is not fully original (just a copy of other cars as the boring Skoda Octavia in a way is too), but they call it "New Mini" for good reasons, and it is evident that it resembles the old Mini a great deal. But this thing... they called it "Alpine" as they could´ve called it any other way. It´s just one more super sports car with nothing special at all. It even seems to lack anything that may be considered a "boot".
9a) 2) After the WW2 in 1945 in a France destroyed & impoverished by this WW, the priority was not any more to build cars of high status very luxurious & very sports, but to build little & few expensive cars for the biggest mass of the population. It's for it that the French builders decided not to build any more big & very luxurious cars after the WW2 to concentrate on the production of cheaps or few expensive cars for the low & middle Class
Am I talking about few years ? No I'm talking about present. I know that in the 90's French cars were not that good. But now ! They have done a great leap forward. And yes, I Know that the old Laguna is a bit a failure If you are looking at Citroën's new DS range, you can see that it is almost covered everywhere by leather. For the plastic, it is some very qualitative plastic. Check Some websites about new Citroën DS range. One more thing I'm not talking about the top of the range of German cars
Beautiful sound, F1 style!!!Despite the fact I do not like French Cars, that's a great try!!!!Does anybody know the Cx of this car?(drag co-efficient).Looks like it is less than 0.26, although that has a ram air inlet over the cockpit....Cheers Renault!!!!!
Are you trolling me ? French cars are now on the top with Germans cars and Japanese cars. French motor (Moteur PSA/BMW EP) are used in mini coopers. Citroën DS3, DS4, DS5 are better than or are at the same level of quality and reliability than Germans cars (BMW 1, 3, 5 and Audi A1, A3, A4, A5). One more thing, German reliability is a legend and now with all the electronic inside each cars, they all have problems like every brand on the market.
