I sold my FJR and got 16 K1600GTLE with very low miles. What a F...N bike !!! Just amazing machine. I love the comfort and engineering and most of all, I love the sound when idle or at 60 -70 MPH. I never knew how good it rides till I tested it. This is the ultimate 2 wheeler as of today. I hope not to deal with all those deep issues that some go thru. I would strongly recommend to anyone who has it in mind to get one. Do not hesitate. Ride one.......PLEASE !!!!
Yea it's a heck of a bike but i'm dealing with those issues so i'm having to study up on bike mechanics and engine design to make sure i can fix whats going on with them. Amazing machines to ride, but prohibitively expensive to pay someone else to maintain.

I just picked up my K1600 GTL Option 719 yesterday. Only rode 200km, but Wow, what a machine. I already gathered that this is one of few bikes, that can do it all. Want a sport bike, remove the panniers and top box, want to cruise alone, remove the top box, want to take the wife with, leave the top box on and remove the side panniers, or just ride with everything on. So much versatility with this machine.
I have K1600GTL 2012 at 40.00km, but it has down with timing chain jump. It didn't start up after i turned engine off for motor heat up warning at 1400km away from my home. I never suggest to any of interested potantial buyer the bmw motorcycle. I bought it with big dream and future tour plan. Motor was full serviced by local official bmw dealer always on time. Germany motorrad head management refuse to cover problem also. They ask me 20.000USD to fix. Never buy it. Or buy it for only listen music with it.
Why do you do this BMW Motorrad? Why don't you back your product? I have a K1600 and it is amazing to ride, I love it and until recently was commuting over 800kms/week on it for work. To hear that you are willing to ignore catastrophic failure is sobering. It didn't matter that it is now an old bike, 40,000kms is a fresh engine so you should be honourable and look after your customers. Disappointing BMW.
