Had Alshon finished the game he would likely have finished with over 200 yards receiving. As it was, he finished somewhat short of that but still was the Player of the Game, and absolutely crushed it statistically. The one who is "just mad" would be you.
Denard was dominated the whole game by Alshon Jeffery. The fight started because Denard was frustrated that Alshon was making him look silly play after play.
Thanks for posting this! I love that you added the audio from Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs. I hate listening to the ESPN announcers. I don't know what some of those Nebraska fans were drinking but it must have kicked in at halftime. Seems to me I saw a different game than they did! SEC DOMINATION!!! GO GAMECOCKS!!!! Oh by the way to quote Mr. Ward "I would hate the think I had the better team and lost by 17 points!"
@spiderdragon1969 dude the blocked PAT is just better special teams play, that's not luck. and you can't just say that because we shouldn't have had those other two touchdowns that we wouldn't have gotten any more touchdowns if they had made the (supposedly) right call.. we would have still scored points in the second half no matter what happened in the first. i don't really think you understand that
@TREYJEEZY The pass interference call extended the drive which resulted in a SC td. No pass interference, probably no td. The push off by Ashlon resulted in a td. No push off, no td. The block in the back on a punt return that got waved off would have buried SC close to their own goal line. No call, SC gets the ball close to mid field. So yes, a few bad calls did change this game. ESPN's multi million dollar contract with the SEC does influence refs calls more than you think.
You obviously dont if your complaining about him being held. Your just mad because Dennard dominated Jeffrey and you realized Jeffrey is completly over rated. And you definitly dont know what went down between the two.
He did it within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage which is perfectly legal you obviously dont know the rules of the game. But yes we got calls we shouldnt had and so did you. USC was the better team that day but we also shot ourselves in the foot multiple times.
Dennard is a dirty player who held Jeffery the entire 1st half. But that's ok, we still won handily. Kudos to your coach for throwing the ball early against us and taking us by surprise. Excellent call. However, when our defense woke up and realized that there were 2 things that Nebraska could not do consistently, we shut you down. The 2 things? Run and/or pass the ball. Smoke and mirrors got you an early lead, but just be thankful that our defense didn't wake up in the 2nd quarter!
Yeah he had four catches out of how many plays? He was covered by Dennard the majority of the plays. I guess you know exactly what happened between the two because you were there. Dennard is just a physical corner Jefferey is going to have to be more physical if he wants to make it in the league
@spiderdragon1969 dude did you watch the game? did you see the stats? usc dominated nebraska on every aspect of the game.. we played better football. nebraska had turnovers, more (legit) penalties, and didn't have even close to usc's defense. you can't just say because of a couple missed calls that could have gone either way, nebraska would have won and is the better team that's not how it works
@spiderdragon1969 What about the uncalled face mask at the goal line or the pass interference called on south Carolina when the ball was not catch able .and I have watch over and over again never seen Alshon throw a punch. Fact is you lost to a better team !
@bahdahdoop Nebraska beat themselves. SC had very little to do with it. Nebraska gave you 16 points,(Alshon's push off hail mary-two points on a blocked extra point-a td because the refs kept the drive alive on a terrible pass interference), that you wouldn't have otherwise gotten. Take those 16 points away and it's a one point game. Call the block in the back on a punt return that got waved off and Nebraska has control of the game. The refs and Husker mistakes gave you the win.
@bahdahdoop Kind of funny how a Nebraska fan gets made fun of when he complains about the pass interference call on an uncatchable pass or the obvious block in the back on a SC punt return or the hail mary pass where Alshon clearly pushes off in order to gain clearance to catch the pass but yet you SC fans keep complaining how the refs didn't call Dennard for mugging Jeffrey. You can't have it both ways. Either stop complaining about Dennard or man up and say the refs sucked both ways !
@rebelmom67 Funny how SC fans think SC dominated that game. Nebraska completely shut down SC in the first half. Alshon pushes off on the hail mary and a pass interference on an uncatchable ball keeps an SC driving going which turned into a td. SC gets 2 points on a blocked extra point. That's 16 points SC shouldn't have had. Nebraska shoots itself in the foot all second half and the result is a 17 point SC win. Domination? Not hardly. Nebraska beat themselves. SC had very little to do with it.
@bahdahdoop One last comment cuz this is giving me a headache. Go celebrate your first ever 11 win season, one in which you didn't play LSU or Alabama, I might add. You got dominated in the first half by a Husker team that started several freshmen and sophomores. We gave you 9 points and the refs gave you 7 more. You got 16 points and only won by 17. Wow ! The bowl game was played in your back yard. So go celebrate. Let me know when you actually get around to playing for a national title !
@sandmoran You are right, Alshon didn't punch back but the shove to the face will get you kicked out every time. The point you are missing is that if you take away the pass interference and you call the push off on the hail mary and the block in the back on the punt return, you have yourself a 16-13 game instead of a 30-13 game. Therefore, SC did not beat Nebraska because SC was the better team. SC beat Nebraska because they got the breaks on the penalties which resulted in two SC touchdowns.
For the life of me I still can't figure out why Nebraska didn't just tackle Jeffery before he caught the pass. Pass interference is only a 15 yard penalty in college ball. That would move the ball 15 yards closer and give SC another shot at it. By the way, Jeffery pushed off big time but of course the officials wouldn't call it because they had to make sure an SEC team won on an ESPN channel !
@LincolnBoy71 Our Huskers dominated SC for one half. The push off hail mary and the blocked PAT were the only things they did right in 30 minutes of play. Because of absolutely terrible officiating, SC got 14 points they shouldn't have gotten. End result-SC wins. But our Huskers have most of their team back next year and the year after. They start several freshmen and sophomores. BCS bowl games here we come ! Too bad these bowl games aren't played up north instead of in the SEC's backyard !
