This engine also gets great fuel economy numbers at 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. The 2012 Chevrolet Traverse has a base price of $29,430.

just purchased a 2012 traverse base, and will say i love it. I am only getting about 17 mpg though, but everything else is great. As far as the second row room goes, i am 6'3'' and can sit back there fairly comfortable, but its meant for a family vehicle with kids, and for the size having 3 rows, i think is impressive-

I agree. It's the size of a grand cherokee, which is rather excessive for a "crossover" in my opinion. I saw one of these parked next to a Tahoe and the size difference wasn't as big as you'd expect.

cheap interior is a deal breaker. Take a look at the CX-9 or Explorer for a well finished, quality looking interior

"The Traverse has been around since 2008." Wrong! What else did he get wrong? The Traverse did not launch the same year as the Buick and GMC models. It launched later.

Timing chains in these vehicles are complete junk...google it for yourself...part that missed me off is that Chevy knows it

Transmission sucks too. Had one, $5000 for a new transmission. Too many mechanical issues

he needs new glasses,he said better looking.he looks squashed in the second row,his right arm is hanging over the arm rest because he is broad shouldered,means not very comfortable on long ride at the back for adults.would this review make you go out and buy one?

He did not look very comfortable in that second row seat. Looks nice on the outside and very plain on the outside. Chevy really needs to move up their bumper to bumper warranty to 5 yr /60k miles like some of the others ie, Mitsubishi & Hyndai etc...If it's really that great of a car then back it up.your equipment..Chevy.. your current warranty is 3ys / 36k miles.
