Colin Kaepernick has a historic day against Green Bay, with 181 yards on the ground (a record for a QB), while throwing and rushing for 2 TDs apiece, helping the Niners advance to the NFC Championship.
Kap, Frank Gore, P-Willy, Navorro Bowman, Michael Crabtree, Aldon Smith, Justin Smith, Donte Hitner, Joe Staley, and so many more with Jim Harbaugh coaching. I miss this team so much 😭
@@mikerichards4611 nah Kap took our offense to another level when he was in. You can have your opinions about him kneeling but the man could play some football💯
@@Teezythegoat the only thing kap could do was run the ball was great at first till teams keept a guy hime for him every play. Watching him throw the ball gave me more anxiety then just about any thing else. Alex smith healed up moved on and created one of the greatest qbs of the modern era with his leadership and knowledge but hey we all can have our opinions mine is that kap was over-hyped trash.
To this day I believe Alex Smith could have won it for y'all. He outdueled Drew Brees the year before, he could have outdueled Joe Flacco no doubt. Kaepernick, as meteoric as his rise was, simply wasn't ready.
@@tommyl.dayandtherunaways820 I woulda gave Alex Smith a 15% chance to beat the Falcons in the NFC Champ that same year when we were down 17-0, really needed that Kaepernick pistol driven offense to get going later to win that game, just a whole different dynamic.
I agree too many injuries on my niners these past years, this niners was more competitive but in 2019 we had some good games, you guys won the first one and we barely won the last game that season, it was down to one play at the end, I was shocked we got the stop but you guys always bring it vs us and last week was a good one to, you guys were just a bit better
I remember being so damn nervous about this game because at the time the Niners were 1-5 vs Green Bay in the Playoffs who would’ve imagined that this game would be the start of a 4 game postseason winning streak against the hated Packers
@@jasonpdsi because the mid 90s packers had an all-time great defense. From 95-97 the Packers defense was as stout as any you’d find. Rodgers hasn’t had that luxury for the better part of a decade and that’s been the biggest reason he hasn’t been back. I mean hell in this game alone the Packers defense allowed Kap to throw for 280 yards and run for 170 yards.
@@jasonpdsi Reggie White, Sean Jones, Leroy Butler, Gilbert Brown and Santana Dotson will do that for you. But my point was the packers defense has stunk the joint for the better part of a decade. A few games here and there aren’t going to change my mind about that.
Every fan that goes to watch 49ers in Levi's stadium needs to watch this video and see how loud the fans were at candlestick we need this energy for this upcoming season
I think it’s with the stadium’s features. The Seahawks’ home is so loud because all of the noise is being echoed due to very unique features around the stadium.
49ers and Green Bay have had some epic playoff battles since the mid 90s. Bowman and Willis IMO was the best mlb core ever. I almost cried when Willis retired. What a defense Cowboy, Willis, Bowman, Aldon Smith, Dontae Hitner, Brooks talk about LOADED man.
@@rhmayer1 For sure that line was tough! Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Alex Boone, Anthony Davis, Jon Goodwin, Dan Kilgore, Joe Looney. Even the backups were very good. Very underrated facet of that era.
@@raikoafm702 Kaep's stats are hard to read because they don't detail how much of a running threat he was also. I believe Jimmy G has a higher ceiling as a passer, but he's very prone to throwing interceptions and unless he gets passed that, he's never going to be great.
This team was a better team then 2019. We absolutely blew it against the Ravens. We play that game 10 times we win 8-9. Sucks we didn't show up til the middle of the third quarter. This season hurt more then 2019.
I disagree, I'd say they're both on par for who we've had on both squads. I'd say the offense is better on the '19 squad whereas the defense was better on the '11-12 squad. I think if both could play each other, it'd be a very close game. Although, I do agree that we blew it vs the ravens and yea, we win that game more times than not.
@@GEZGAMINGidk man id say the weakest part of each offense was the QB but this niners team had Colin a legitimate dual threat at the time. Meanwhile jimmy was only a passer & even then he wasn’t an elite passer. Colin wasn’t an elite passer either but an elite runner for sure
i think the Niners were thinking it was something the ravens hadn't seen them do all year, because crabtree hadnt hit a fade all 2012. thats the only thing i can think of. im more baffled by the 2 delay of games the Niners let happen. And Frank was close. I think a stretch with LaMichael would have done it
@@christianhunter9656 lmao yeah right kap was the most exciting QB at the time, he had such great potential and he was a beast at deciding when to take off just like Trey, Trey seems to have that exact trait if they just call plays that revolve around him, you are just hating
He didn't even seem to care tbh. He put such a poor amount of effort in catching the ball. It really let me down. I was hoping he'd bring his full potential.
The patriot's loss stings the most. That team should've won, a freak lucky catch lost them the game, that team is still the best in history in my opinion.
@@BasePuma4007 as great as a team that was the biggest heart breaker i think would be the vikings loss vs the falcons... no way should that have happen
@H Rivera Engineering a 10 point comeback in 2015 against the leagues best defense, and engineering a 25 point comeback against atlanta in 2017 was "pure luck?" Right, sounds logical.
Doug Taylor there's more talent in the QB position this year than I've ever seen in the past. This will be an interesting, shoot out year. Rodgers, Watson, Brady, Brees, Ryan, Goff, Wentz, Wilson, Luck, Jimmy G, Cousins, I'm sure I'm missing guys. I think Trubisky will shape up this year. Hopefully Winston gets back to his high production. Gonna be interesting
Evan H. Mahomes, Rivers, Big Ben, Stafford, Newton, Fitzpatrick Winston saga, D’Arnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Jimmy G before he got hurt, Cousins,Dalton, etc. So many Quarterbacks and storylines it’s crazy talent across the board.
@@moneylover6000 Yeah, at the start of the year I was thinking that this was gonna be the first year where every team's qb was gonna be good and no one was gonna have to get a new QB in the offseason, but of course you know how that ended up-Jacksonville benched Bortles, even though imo he should be back next year because he did have a few bad games but overall had a good year and Washington who may need a new QB if Smith's career is over
Aaron Scott Bro Bortles fucking sucked ass this year. He was a turnover machine. I think that Flacco should go to Jacksonville but he’s such a régresser himself but once in the playoffs he’s Joe Cool. But we’ll see so much talent at the Quarterback position this year.
Beautiful HD quality, too bad RU-vid will take this video down soon. this is my favorite 49er game of the Harbaugh era. Now it’s the Jimmy G/Shanahan era👌💯
The Chef shanahan sucks he lost to the cardinals twice and the organization resigned him where the packer fired McCarthy and did more for the packers organization than shanahan will do for the 49ers
Michael Curry doesn’t the coach prepare the players which led to the players loosing how the fuck do you loose to Arizona and keep your job the 49ers front office sucks
@@rdsentertainment48 the coaches can do eveything they can to help prepare for a game, its ultimately the way the players perform, that leads to a win or loss
I’m watching this in 2022, Jim Harbaugh is coaching at the University of Michigan and just lost to Georgia in the College Football Playoff semi finals. Georgia then won the National title against Alabama. Randall Cobb is back with the Packers who I believe are the #1 seed in the NFC. And Kap…no longer plays in the nfl. AJ Hawk is a co host of a super popular RU-vid show with Pat McAfee. Just some interesting things off the top of my head.
2:19:41 crazy how in 2012 they are advertising Seahawk's Russel Wilson vs Falcon's Matt Ryan and in 2021 they're still on the same teams (Rogers too). Kinda rare to have these players stay so long when many are now asking to be traded or signing big contracts in free agency.
Lol Tom Brady was on the same team for almost 18 years, Ben Rothisburg has been on Steelers for at least 15, The Manning brothers both had long careers for Indy and NY Giants, Phillip Rivers at SD …Its not that Rare really when your QB is a Star that is well protected lol Its all about longevity… QB’s like Russell Wilson, Big Ben; Tom Brady, Drew Brees etc, are all QBs that are/were rarely getting sacked …they have always had a great O-line to protect them or a Quick enough ball release to where they’re bodys and brain have been somewhat protected… I mean Russell Wilson is NEVER hurt (with the exemption of this year with his finger problem) that guy probably has alot of juice left in the tank…
2012 and 2013 were pretty good years for football, you had the legends still in top form (Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers) and the young upcoming generation of hybrid Qb's (Wilson, Kap). Nowadays it's even better because more than half the teams can say they have their franchise QB
Ya, and if you remember back then, every talking head was against Kap because he wasn't a pocket passer, and he was a runner. They all said he would get injured. Kap and Jim Harbaugh paved the way for running QBs.
Oh man, thanks for posting this. I was there for the game and never got to see the broadcast. Even when we were down in the first half or tied, not one person in the stadium thought there was any chance we wouldn't win. The Stick was like a fortress that night.
p s agreed man harbaugh believed in kaepernick man if he was still head coach then kap would probably have a ring. I'm a Seahawks fan but honestly have a lot of respect for Colin and his morals. And harbaugh was a good coach, he flipped out on the sideline a lot but he was a damn good coach that got let go after going 8-8
lol you can honestly say that after the Thanksgiving debacle and followed it up the next time they played in Seattle ...sandwiched with the Raider blowout ...Kap was a good runner a terrible qb
yes your right bt I also think that the stadiums plays a role...this happen in Candlestick park, and he was old and a dump, bt that stadium carried a lot of memories, good and bad, this new stadium, its a high teck stadium, bt football was never meant to be high teck even to there fans....
@@achilles9448 Third and whatever means Get off Your'e Ass and get LOUD Niners fans !!!! NOT sit and cross your'e arms. I always see to many fans do just that it drives me fkn crazy, just stay home and watch soap poppers..
Kap was to obsessed with Crabtree when he had Vernon and Randy moss plus Gore coming out of the back field. Crazy talent all over the field. Forgot about delanie walker
@@robocop581 Few? Any person with half a brain knows that is what Kaep has always been. He is not intelligent enough to go through progressions. If his primary route isn't open, he's screwed.
kaepernick is a one read qb, he looks for his primary reciever if hes not open he tries to run, he also telegraphs throws...that can get your reciever hurt. as soon as defenses figured out how to stop the read option he became mediocre at best
Nope. Will enjoy Garoppolo/Shannahan offense so much more. We barely had any passing game at all. Ultimately its why we could never go all the way. During these years our defense won our games.
@p s-- Those teams Kaepernick were on were carried by a great defense and strong running game... Alex Smith got to a NFC championship also and he hasn't done anything close to that since...
The resolution and clarity of this presentation is amazing, compared to other 9er games I've watched on RU-vid recently. Little or no ads either. How was this done?
I think you could argue Top 5 when considering his insane longevity. Not the flashiest, not the fastest, but remained effective for over 15 years. Totally unheard of for running backs.
pretorious700 he has the talent and the only reason why things went bad because of the team he had and plus what he did. Put out of all the back ups right now he problem is better than most
This was the last playoff game ever played at Candlestick. Say what you want about the lack of proper field water drainage but the stadium had great fan atmosphere. I really loved going to both 49er and Giant games there.
1:33 1:52 1:55 It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday 😢 sad to see all these great players from both sides moved on and especially being a diehard 49er it is poignant and heartfelt. Candlestick park may not mean much to some but, it will 4ever rock in my heart n soul. I saw the 1st game played there🤙n saw the last 😢 being at Candlestick was like being on a roller-coaster there were ups n downs but thru it all it was thrilling. Thanks for the memories.😊 🙏
man it didn't feel like to long ago...what an amazing time to be a niners fan though.....i actually liked Kaeps athleticism and it was some fun football but wish that they used Smith....he was just a better overall field general whom i think would have won that Super Bowl ...ahhh what if's....it is what it is i guess......it took awhile but .just glad the niners are doing well again.
This whole Niners team was loaded, even the staff was loaded: Jim Harbaugh - Head Coach Greg Roman - Offensive Coordinator Vic Fangio - Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt - LBs Coach *(former HC at South Florida) Ed Donatell - Secondary Coach Ejiro Evero - Offensive Assistant
Whenever we played Harbaugh's Niners. We never beat them! The Packers always made Kaepernick look like a MVP and, it made me sick every time watching them look so unprepared for him compared to other teams.
juice9100 i sure dont, alex smith should have kept playing that season. Alex beat the packers in Lambeau Field earlier in the year. Keap always sucked when he didnt have the run game working for him.
watching now 9ers '12 season games I realize we should've won that SB 47. we had a great team & staff. now in '19 I think Kyle Shanahan* is lil bit similar to Jimmy. really good feelings this 2019 season.
You don’t get it...there wasn’t any police brutality back then....no discrimination against black folks...now why wasn’t Kap wearing a fro or pig socks?....I can think of 60 MILLION REASONS....
Will Drucker u sound ignorant. Everything u mentioned was still taking place. It wasn't highly publicized world wide maybe to create some racial division but it definitely was going on. It never stopped since our forefathers time.
You're an idiot. You're saying since he wasn't protesting then, that means his protest now is disingenuous? So since MLK or Gandhi didn't start their protests since they were 15, their protests were fake? Everyone learns about and starts to care about different issues at different times. And Kaep sacrificed his career and money with the protest, he didn't gain money.
Here we are 8 or 9 years later: Colin kaepernick is out of the league , Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay , mike McCarthy is now the head coach of the Dallas cowboys, Jim harbaugh is coaching at Michigan , candlestick is gone and most of these players either retired, or on different teams it’s amazing isn’t it?
Harbaugh was a genius, J Smith a beast, Gore a Niners legend, CK a great straight line runner, but never a great passer. That NYG and Raven game still haunt me. ✌️
This 49ers team should have won the whole-thing. Shady-calls in the Super Bowl prevented that. Last season more shady calls prevented the 49ers from winning the whole-thing. Hopefully *THIS* time around the 49ers won't screw-up their current-squad the way they did this one.
