this was a HUGE help for me, I actually did it myself when the dealer was going to charge me $985.00 to do it. telling me it needed everhything including the door, which it did not. Much thanks for this video!
Thanks Matt, successful recirculation actuator replacement on my 2012 Chrysler 300 today. I really appreciate the assurance that this would not require dealership recalibration; at least mine did not. It used Torx screws, and I fortunately had the tool to do the job in such a tight space. I highly recommend the $25 Chapman MFG 1068 Star Bit set. Removing the glove box assembly and lower kick panel also made the job much easier, providing line of sight and therefore a more comfortable work position. A mirror helped too, to locate rear screw. Great video!
Thanks so much for the info. My belt broke and got wrapped in the compressor and a.c. hasn't worked since. I have 2.4 2010 avenger. Not sure what is going on why my belt even broke.
Nice Video, as a tip before putting the actuator in make sure the blend door moves freely as that can cause the actuator failure. I sometimes use dry-lube as well.
Does the one on the left side of the glove box (middle one out of the 3) control the heat blend? I'm getting nothing but cooler air coming out....sometimes a little warm....that was the only one out of the 3 I didn't change!
Please explain why it went from a female looking part to a male? This is very confusing. Was the male part left behind when you pulled it out and you grabbed it and put it on the part?
The Dorman actuator that I received from Amazon has the spline gear on it (like the last one he showed in this video). The one I took out of my 2011 has the female part to accept a spline gear (like the first one he showed in this video) AND they are both part #604-029. What the?? And by the way, I took both housings apart and swapped the big white ring gears. The part was easy to get out once I remove the two screws but unfortunately I was unable to get the new modified part back in there. I will have to try again tomorrow.
My mom has a 2012 avenger and the ac and heater wrk but doesn't blow as it should. It takes forever to cool and forever to heat up. U do feel the cool wen ac is on n also for heater but it's jus not coming out how it should. Do u think it could b the door actuator. Pls let me know. Wana fix this problem for my mom it's cold here right now thks
I have the same noise and my heat will not work. The noise will actually happen when the car is just standing without the engine running...are these all related isses to this one part
Just replaced mine in the right side glove compartment near a Cabin air filter, it was knocking, don't hear the knocking any more which is is great, but how should a normal blend door sound be? Should I be hearing a little noises from that area? Just hoping I put it on correctly. Thanks
Hey I have a 2009 avenger my ac also make this ticking noise but also my gas never stays in for nomore than 2weeks n my line has no links other than the ac schredder valve . Do you know if I also replace the blower motor will that help with keeping the cold air
Hi I have a sebring and the vents move back and forth between defrost and front vents without me doing anything. Any thing I can correct it using the rear window defroster reset. But as i drive it does it again and I’m constantly have to do the reset. Any idea what’s causing the problem?
Thank you because I am someone who doesn't know anything about cars so I tend to get over charged however now I can let them know that I am ware of the problem and what the costs should be.
Replaced mine on passenger side. Took 8 minutes to put the new one in. 4 days later the one under the driver's side starts clicking! You gotta be kidding me 🤦🏻♂️
Rust has already built up on those brackets. Must be close to the ocean or something. I have an old 95 chevy truck and the brackets under the dash still look new. Good video!
That's probably more of quality dropping more and more 🙁 very worrying to see things like this with new stuff and older stuff works longer without failing
My question is how much you charging the other guy to do it for him? I want to know in case I would rather pay someone else, as long as it isn't over $250.
