Review #6 I realized my acceleration audio isn’t sync so here is the video here. • 2012 Lexus IS F 0-60 0... My owners review of my 2012 Lexus IS F Plus a Lap at #LexusISF #review
I pulled up next to an IS350 F sport two days ago at a stoplight and complimented his car, he went on and on about the red mica color and how rare it was, etc. When it was my turn to speak, I relayed how lucky I was to find my Lexus locally recently with only 58k miles on it. He looked at my car and said “yeah that’s nice” (clearly not all that impressed.. )Then when the light changed, we waived and I turned leaving him behind in my 2016 Lexus GS F 😂
U know what’s funny when Toyota made the Prius we all laughed but because they sold so well Toyota/Lexus were able to produce V8’s even with the right emissions laws so shout out to all the folks who bought the Prius so we could enjoy these beautiful V8 beats from Japan
Bro, respect on the NO TRACTION CONTROL launch. You stayed in it and held it well. Not sure it would have been the same outcome if it were a Mustang lol
I had IS250 AWD and I can tell that was the best car I've ever had. Unfortunately had to sell him and ISF is still my dream car. I hope there will come that day when I'll be able to buy it. Respect for the owner for skills and awesome car
Not going to lie, at first I thought this was going to be the typical boring car review. But then you really sent it with the launch and didnt expect you to take it on the track. Great video! Maybe make some content with donuts and races.
Great review, bro. I am fortunate enough to own a July 2014 (final month and year of production) oblivion black IS F. It is by far the best car I’ve owned and will never part with it. :)
Thanks for making this very detailed video. I've watched probably 5 times now over a couple of weeks. I might just buy myself a '10 ISF over a M3 since I do not track my cars. They are extremely rare in Norway though. There is one for sale at this moment so I am currently knee deep in the struggle. Trying very hard to resist the urge. Your video does not help the resistance though 😆
They are becoming rare in the US too. At the time of the video there were 85 for sale and now they are about half available. Even with the RCF, GSF, I still believe the ISF is more desirable.
Yeah I bet many of them have been crashed, thrashed or modified to death. The supply of clean ISF's can't stay high forever. There are a few of the newer RCF for sale in Norway. Only one ISF though. They are very rare here. I have never seen one on the road, and so far in 2020 this is the second ISF that has been for sale in the country that I have found. The $153k pricetag when new made them out of reach for most people. BMW/Mercedes/Audi is what most performance oriented people with money bought back in those days. Not much has changed. I'm looking at a german import 2010 with ~75000 miles, ML soundsystem and no sunroof for $45k. Not too bad considering they were $153k new here due to heavy taxation on high horsepower "polluting/inefficient" cars. A new base RCF starts at $140k with no options selected. The ISF might become collectible over the coming years so I hope the depreciation won't be too bad if I end up buying it now.
Lexus need to bring back the ISF asap… The game’s been missing it bruv!!🤔💯💯💯👌🏾 Even another reviewer who drove the 2022 IS500 F sport back to back with the ISF said the ISF was the superior handling car!! Also in regards to what you said about Lexus not allowing the F brand time to develop, before branching off left, right and centre with F sport on everything, was spot on mate!!👊🏾
The isf is a true drivers car you can daily it and track it on weekends and the reliability makes it worth owning 👍 Lexus started slapping the f badge without the f performance it lost it’s prestige great video thanks for sharing
Yes, I have found that out recently more so because of searching for an IS F online and too many cars sites post the f sport. Frustrating. I am looking to sell my 2016 Lexus GS 350 F sport 25k mi. with a full splitter kit from NIA and ceramic coating on 3/4 of the vehicle and clear bra on the front end of the vehicle. Full chrome delete in satin charcoal wrap. Side mirrors wrapped, rear spoiler, roof & shark fin. When that is sold I hope to find my IS F by then with a little luck. Thank you again for your video.
This car is holding its value so even now it’s still unaffordable for me. Meanwhile M3s are selling dirt cheap, you can buy them cheap but be ready to spend big bucks are most probably a lot of things are broken and they’re really expensive to fix.
Great video dude. Very informative of the car. I recently sold mine and wanted to reminisce. All car reviewers should go as in depth as you do. Enjoy the great car man!
i have a GS450h a wonderful car. I am seriously thinking of getting an IS-F as i recently got a nissan leaf so hardly use the Lexus anymore. I have a K24 Honda ep3 type r for trackdays which i can sell & just have the is-f for track use & long range trips. Awesome cars
My buddy that works for Tesla is selling his 13 ISF in ultrasonic blue however the only thing I don’t like is the white leather…. he added the diffuser to the back that I guess you can’t find anymore… he wants 42,000for it it’s in pretty good shape still…
@@JavierRodriguez-ht8hw I don't know bro I'm beating cars that run 12s few Mustang GTs 2011 to 2014 Scat Pack 392 and the other day my friends e92 M3 BMW
Reason I couldn’t get this car the car tax is crazy high in the Uk and they slowly banning gas guzzler cars. As 6’3 height I got a f sport gs 450 mk4 instead powerful nice and spacious for me.
The later years ISF are better then a M3 This car is better than the M3 in fact, motor trend actually tested a 2014 model year ISF against an M3 v8 competition, and they put down the same lap time… and that M3 was a two door…
That’s perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with the F Sport. You still get the AVS, cool sound and better looks. I mentioned it because some people interchange them or don’t know the difference.
anecdotal experience: I've beaten the v8 M3s twice, and a v10 m5 with the eisenman exhaust. Only mod was a skinny driver (:D) and no spare wheel or toolkit in the back.
Sadly I own an IS250. Truly depressing. Haha kidding. It’s still a nice car just slow and direct injected so I had to spend 600 bucks to clean the intake valves due to some minor carbon buildup. Provably didn’t need to do it but I did it anyhow. Also a rock solid engine but just slow.
Hello Edward, what you think about buying a 2014 Lexus GS350 f sport? I know is not a the same level as the ISF, but the Gs is fun enough for a regular driver?
albertosamaniego I have experience with a GS350 F Sport. They are fun cars. They have an excellent engine sound, the adjustable suspension, ventilated seats, the sound system is better, and overall feels more upscale. If you’re not expecting a full out race car but wanting something fun to drive and decent acceleration, the GS350 F Sport is the right choice. They depreciated pretty hard, but they should be at the bottom of depreciation so you can snag one up for an excellent deal and have a beautiful luxury car! The 2014+ RWD models have an 8-speed transmission from the ISF!
Thinking abt buying this car in a couple months can u recommend the mileage and year i should buy at? Ive heard abt bushing and valley plate issues as well but i dont want a high car payment super young bc im 21 n i could sell my accord rn for 25k and its only has 192 hp lol so ik the isf is way more than what i need. I want to get into something faster n reliable without breaking the bank since ive been having so many damn issues with my 1.5t accord. Was gona buy an after market warranty just incase i face any of those issues
Edward M Cars You are welcome)))I will ceep waching your videos, and about ISF its really fantastic one,but ofcourse RCF is great!! I know you will have RCF very soon:)))thanks you bro
I sold the ISF because once I started to attend HPDE events I realized I wanted more from the car. Not that the ISF is a bad car because it’s a really good street car but I wanted to keep it original. I wanted to modify the suspensions and do some bolt ons, but I didn’t want to do all of that to a car what I felt would increase in value in the coming years. It made me not want to drive it and just keep it parked. I tried my hardest to like the RCF, I could get into a used 2015-16 for a good price but after driving two of them, it felt that Lexus focused more on the luxury and than the sport. The M3 on the other hand seems like luxury is an after thought and they focus more on the driver feel. The M3 ownership has been good. I had one minor problem with the seat logo cracking but it was replaced while I was still under warranty. I now have 48k on the odometer and two track days and it’s going strong. Do I miss the ISF? Yes I do. I miss the V8, the cold start and the exclusivity of it. It was a sleeper because not many people know that Lexus put a V8 in these cars. I would always get looks at gas station when it would crank up and low V8 rumble would follow.
Thank you for your detailed response!... I own a 2010 ISF and stumbled across your video. I was just curious why you got rid of it. I like BMW and I respect their engineering how they're always pushing the envelope with performance but truth be told I've been scared to own one because of the maintenance cost😬 I guess I've been spoiled with my Lexus reliability experience. That being said the S55 motor is a beast and better yet the S58 that's going into the new M3 is even better😎
Gabe H, I will say this; don’t let maintenance cost scare you. It’s not that bad. I was afraid, too, after my first experience with my E90 335i was horrible, but now I know what to look for. There’s a lot of customizations with the car which I like. The M3 gives me a challenge when I drive it hard, which I love. The IS F was easy to drive fast and hard without feeling like I was pushing the limits. I’m pretty sure I could beat my M3 0-60 with my old ISF because it puts its power down better. The ISF makes you feel like an expert driver, and the M3 is such a beast I quickly realized I’m not as good as a driver as I thought I was lol
One thing I have been wondering about which no one who has done reviews on this car has mentioned is this, how does it shift when just putting around in automatic mode? Are the shifts as sharp as using the paddles?
Edward, just wondering man, im thinking of getting an ISF, with the bluetooth connectivity, I've got an iphone XS, well that connect straight to the audio screen on the lexus? for music? thanks.
If you get a 2010 or newer you will get the Bluetooth audio which will display your music over the speakers as well as display the song and playlist on the multi media screen.
Edward M Cars awesome, do you prefer the M3 over the ISF? mostly in terms of engine sound ? I have a 335i 2007 and want to trade it for an ISF but I’m just not sure it’s going to be that much of an upgrade over mine
I also had a 09 335i moved from that to the C63 to the ISF and now M3. If I had to rank them by engine sound alone the M3 would be at the bottom of my list. It only sounds good when you’re wide open throttle but other than that it doesn’t sound that appealing. The ISF has a nice, low, V8 rumble at startup. When idling, there’s that subtle muscle car idle tells people nearby this isn’t your normal Lexus. You won’t be disappointed with the performance of the ISF especially the full throttle upshifts in manual/sport mode. It shifts firm but not violent. It’s an excellent street car!
