2012 Martin M-36 owned by Charlie Worsham 

Just discovered this dude and honestly I can’t stop watching!!! Amazing

Martin’s M-36 seems to be gaining popularity. I’ve known about it for a long time, but am waiting until my LGS gets two or three, they sometimes order three, so I can be sure to get the best one available to me. As people are coming to find, the M-36 has been the “secret weapon “ of session guitarists for years. It’s a “one stop shopping” guitar with a more midrange than a dreadnought, with a virtually equivalent amount of base. Because of its slim “000” design, it’s more comfortable than a dreadnought. The tonal spectrum is such that a player really only need to bring one guitar to a performance. That’s a big deal if you don’t have a road crew at your disposal. Many people don’t realize this, but there are also the M-38 and M-40, as well as four-aughts that are identical in size and shape to the M-36 but, aside from Gruhn’s or Willcutt, where they’re special ordered, they are rare. They’re also quite a bit more expensive than the M-36 because they tend to come with more exotic tonewoods and bling. Gruhn’s had Martin make a run of 0000’s for them with figured sinker mahogany. I don’t know if they’re still stocking them, but it’d worth checking on if you can spend another $1,500 over the price of an M-36. The M-36 will suit me just fine. I may even go with the twin pickup arrangement as per this review. Great idea!

Such a beautifully sounding guitar, why would you want to sell it? I know you have your reasons, but jeez, that instrument sounds nice!

What strings are you using on that beast ?

BOTH pickups, one or the other sound very electronic with very high harmonic distortion. With audio like this, why bother drilling into a nice rosewood acoustic and changing its sound altogether. Crazy, a lot of players do this ending up with altogether different guitars than they started with. What we do in service of volume instead of quality - pretty nuts considering we're talking acoustic. Great player though.

I guess it’s okay if you can’t afford a separate electric else why ruin the sound of a M-36?
