The word COMAND is written in all caps because it is an acronym for "Cockpit Management and Data" System. It is not a German word. Great review by the way 😆
9:35 The headrest drop button didn't seem to work because the headrests were already in the down position. They have to be pulled upwards to be able to dropped so don't worry about it
Thanks for the 'very honest' review man! I just bought one these off Carvana with 34k miles that has a fully decked out interior, as well as, all other features the car offered when it came out. I got it for a bargain and am so excited to drive it, especially after watching this.
Hi, thanks for the great review of the W212 Mercedes-Benz E350! I own a 2011 and had a 2010 before this one. I LOVE it! It's a great comfortable 6 cylinder! I used to drive an hour and 5 minutes to work one-way, and I used to get up to 38.4 on the highway using the cruise control! Amazing! It is a great car for the money. And it is a looker. Take care!
That year is the most reliable as well very nice car to have especially if you can do a few service yourself like brakes, oil change, plugs and air filters you save hundreds of dollars.
Actually many Mercedes purists disagree. The 2010-2011 with the M272 3.5 v6 was a much more reliable engine. The 2012+ had the M276 with the direct injection. It had many problems. There are many people documenting 200,000+ miles on the M272 v6 from the earlier models
@@TheT1r1 I have to disagree on this statement. Although yes, some people say that, I've also read hundreds of forums where people say that they owned both the M272 & M276 E350 and they said the M276 was the more reliable engine. That's my take on it. I'm planning on either a 2013 or 2014 so M276 for me
Nice review Zach, I know this hasn't made you an Internet celebrity yet, but keep going. Keep this up and you will be there. Something very real about you.
I turned all the ECO stuff off or coded them out, has a two stage oil pump normal/reduced pressure, it not only affects mpg but cooling as well. In the south, cooling is super important. Anyway, before all this I got 22 city 32 highway. after 20 city 34 highway. and my oil doesn't turn black anymore, is still very clean when I change at 4k. Before the oil was black after 500 miles. I run 38 psi in tires, drive just below the speed limit, and refrain from passing or hotrodding. Awesome car.
My 2012 RWD (bought in 2015) doesn't have radar cruise control, but has the 'wood trim steering wheel' that looks 100% better than the one you're showing. Great review!! Thanks.
Ok. So I found this video because I'm about to buy a 2011 E350 ( I Feel old). Anyway, as soon as you started talking about the cruise control, I knew where you were going. I had a 2009 C63 not too long ago and I used to hit that cruise control stalk all the time instead of the blinkers. Thought it was just me. Apparently, it not.
Great review! Blinkers are interesting fact :D I believe it's the thing we get used to (mby little lower than w211). W212 Seems very promising model! And spare parts are cheaper than w211 one, great thing
fun fact , you can buy one of these , in europe for less than 5k ,with 250k miles with the 2.2L diesel engine, i found a good looking one for 3.7k , most of them would be german ex taxis ,but a cheap merc is a cheap merc XD , but lets not talk about the 1k 2000s S class XDD
I prob should have looked at these a lil more before buying a benz but i bought the 2014 CLA 250 and absolutely love it! 4 cylinder turbo is so underrated. Def want the amg version next though👍
No bud the 2012 e300 base are not air suspension they just come standard . No navigation, blindspot monitor or panaramic sunroof . Make sure you dont buy an e350 they are air suspensions. I would like to advise you check if the car your going to buy have had the cam shaft adjust change and the timing chain tensioner update ,as all 2012 e300 will have that fail. Its a rattling sound on start up. Please look it up on youtube many videos will show it. Whem you drive it no jerky movement when changing gear or rough shifting. Scan your car for any hidden codes ane do a underbody inspection for wrotted exhaust or things under car that would be bad or leaking. If it passes you have your self a wonderful car . Text me if you need any more help .
@@seeingit9337 I actually just grabbed an E350 2012 4matic sport. The dealer said it’s regular suspension not air suspension. This E class has 72,000 miles doesn’t feel shifty yet Atleast. But my c280 I own now has that shifty feeling that you’ve mentioned maybe the timing chain. It knocks on start up
I was on the line about buying an E350, heard bad things about the auto air suspension and the 4Matic having problems. Probably still going to buy one, you convinced me 😂
Just bought a 2011 Mercedes e 350 4 matic with 227k miles. It’s a temporary car till my ford maverick hybrid arrives. I love it, it’s like driving a spaceship. Bit of a gas guzzler especially in town. Had to replace a couple spark plugs and a coolant bin for $600. They want to replace another part for $1,500 in a couple months. It’s a nice car for sure though especially during winter.
At Mercedes forum, many members agree that this is what the S-class should have been and probably in terms of reliability the best MB ever built. Bought 2012 (AMG edition) in 2018, and my wife, myself and kids love it (1. highly comfortable, 2. practical, 3. handles really well when pushed to the limit, 4. highly reliable, 5. good visibility, 6. quality interior materials, 7. beautiful classic looks). It now has 158 000km on it. Downsides? In the city could be more economical (we average 13 liters per 100km) and as it is the AMG edition the ground clearance is low (9cm instead of 12cm). Wish I would have bought the 4-matic version.
I think the downside is the interior quality. The soft paint buttons that wear off and sometimes you see examples with very worn wood trim. What do you think?
10 Grand lol back in the day 10 grand would buy you a new Cadillac!! My first car cost 400 bucks and I had it for 6 years and never had one issue with it. It was a 1975 Dodge Dart Sport with a 318 even ran it once with less than a quart of oil for 200 miles got back then filled the oil up drove it for another 4 years still no issues started in minus 40 in Manitoba without even being plugged in a great car. 10 grand is still a lot of cash for most people and if you can not get a good used car for 10 grand then I can't help you lol! There are plenty of cars used for that price with proper maintenance that will last a lifetime!!!
Man, I wish these were still that cheap. I can't find any to begin with, but when I do see them they're all around 18K. Desperately wanting to trade my Fusion in on one.
@@joedennehy386 Last year I bought a Mercedes Benz E350 AMG Line with a 265HP V6 Diesel Engine, it came from TEXAS, it was exported to Europe, in the Eastern Balkan countries at the beginning of 2022, I have no words to describe it, it is so powerful that I don't know how to say it. Luxury car with all the features of a sedan car in this category. I am very amazed, I also drove the German version with the same engine, but this American production is more extravagant attractive and more powerful for me than the German one, I was about to buy a BMW, but this Mercedes has completely stolen my heart .
The E class is the best used Mercedes because of one reason! NO ABC or compicated suspension! Which will fail on all Mercedes before 150,000 miles. Believe it!
The screen is fine and the cruise is no issue maybe for special people it is lol. The front looks cool always liked the front end even better than the S class. Young kids are so spoiled and their complaints make me laugh. They would not have made it back in the day they would cry like babies when they had to manually roll up their windows. GPS was a folding paper map back in the day having it in a car is fantastic.
For Whatever Reason Mine Came With The Newer Steering Wheel, I Couldn't Believe it.. But, I'm now Realizing The Sport Models Came with the Newer Style Steering Wheel. Apparently there is also Some that came with AMG Package? But, I agree with you on the Turn Signa/Cruise Control Stalks Being So Close and Being So So So Annoying. Its Even Worse in the 08-14 C-Class Models Which I have Also. I'm Frequently hitting one or the Other Stalks Everytime! So Friggin Annoying!!!
I'm consistently kind of disappointed by Mercedes E-Classes. I think they are good for people who like a generally solid feeling car, but they are boring to drive and not as comfortable as you would imagine, especially in this generation
I have a 2013 e350. My wife has had a scotty approved toyota which she has spent thousands on. It just depends I suppose. But they turn them into taxis and go half a million miles
