I loved the Legend so much i bought it twice i had a 93 and then a 95. Eventually the head gasket cracked and i had to sell. Still driving Acura 20 years later and i love my TLX ASpec
My parents bought this new from the factory. Volvo used to have a program where you could pick your new car at the factory in Sweden. Then ship to the USA when you were ready. Anyway, they still have it and it's been rock solid. Just had our 1st major expense, real main seal leaking. Have to drop the engine to repair. Other than that, I love driving it and love the V8. Also Volvo seats are some of the best.
There is no limbo on service. Any Mechanic that works on Mercedes can work on the Crossfire. The car is a lot more responsive with a manual. Torque band is very useable and a hoot to drive. Anyone that reviews a car and drives with his thumbs wrapped around the wheel is probably less then knowledgeable about driving. I wonder if the kid can even drive a manual. By the way those seats he didn't like are milk cured leather and smell wonderful.
The rental car upgrade. But like you said, it's a great cruiser, though a bit noisy because of the soft top. A friend has a 2015 V6 auto convertible. The V6 pulls. 300hp in a smallish car is no slouch.
I hate when you look for a review on a vehicle they instantly go to oh it just doesn’t feel the same obviously it’s not it’s not a 5.0 it’s not a supercharge v8 it’s none of that some people just want a cruiser in the body style of a favorite vehicle 🤦🏽
"You've got soft hands brother." Is what id usually tell thise who'd buy these pavement princesses. But I'm interested in those massaging seats for my bricklayer back.
Hertz in Grand Rapids Michigan rented me a 5.0 Mustang GT on a Icy night.....Those Jerks. I was expecting a V6. Almost un-drivable in slippery conditions.
Gday Zac, Really have enjoyed the honest review and updates on your damn fine car. A couple of curiosity questions about the brakes if you have time. You mentioned that you did the Dragons Tail drive (I'm not from the US so don't know it personally) and some track days... Did you fit specific pads for the track days and if not why? Is it possible that the disks and Pads went through some extreme heat cycles and caused the issues with the brakes in general? Just curious, as I too thought about track days with the Hatch but am always concerned with stock braking systems when they are place under continuous extreme loads. Please keep up the car Diary/Vlog mate ... they are fantastic!
I’m now watching this video two years that you made it simply bc I’m looking into getting one. This video might solidify my choice. Any other opinions??
Love AR5’s with the 3.5 my first was a crew cab which on the third 4l60 got the Aisin. They work but temperamental after 6. Factory redline 6.3k rpm. Everyone owned been tuned over 7k 15 years strong.
I drove the next gen with this same engine and six speed auto, coupe though (2015). Bought November 2014, traded in August 2023, 42K miles. The engine was just about perfect. I only ever used the "S" transmission mode and I initiated every single upshift and downshift myself with the paddles, never let the transmission do a single one. It worked great. I did get every recall issue -- couldn't close the door, brake lights stuck on, rear camera out, and hood latch wouldn't latch. Also had the AC die about halfway through and thought I'd have to spend $2400 but one of those $50 AC refill cans fixed it and plugged the leak and it worked great for the rest of my time.
That Mustang does 0-60 in 5.8. That's faster than the vast majority of muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s. As you wisely point out, the V6 convertible is a sporty cruiser, not a race car. I have to shake my head at people who think 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds is too slow. I find that I want a car that does 0 to 60 in under 9 seconds, so I have the power to turn left without crapping my pants when oncoming cars have the right of way. Anything faster than 0 to 60 in 7 seconds seems unnecessary. Fun, but unnecessary
That 1978 Cadillac Eldorado was a comfortable land yacht with prestige and a way of telling the world you're very special. Also that 1978 Cadillac Eldorado was necessary in order to compete with Lincoln's flagship model Mark V which even today and probably never will be settled.
