Its awesome to hear that this pilot got his start the same way I plan to. Going to enlist to be a rescue swimmer and then apply for STA to earn my Commission. Hopefully I can earn a pilot slot after that.
WARARROWS .Saratov warrior That aircraft? Are you kidding? The F/A-18C is as good as the SU-25SM (which is carrier based if you didn't know.) The F/A-18E is just an improved version, some aircrafts of the US army are really good, but not this one. You're talking about a naval multi-tasking aircraft versus a specialized land-based aircraft tailored specifically to beat the F-15. The US won't win a war by wishful thinking.
Rainbow Soviet Dash the SU25 is a ground attack aircraft not a fighter, SU35 is a fighter like no other, the F/A 18 E is a larger version of the F/A 18 C and has larger engines, faster rate of climb and more versatile weapons load, so I don't understand your classification of the type? and the US ARMY doesn't have fighter aircraft, airforce, navy and Marines have fighter jets.
WARARROWS .Saratov warrior I said US army because I wanted to talk about the USMC+USAF+USN. And actually yes, the US army also has transport aircraft, mostly for their officers. As I said, the F/A-18E is a multi-tasking aircraft, it could never compete with an aircraft specialized in it's field, that's another story for a F-22 though, but that's not Navy. And the F-35 well, it has a shorter range than the F-16 so it's a lost cause.. You may have wondered why the USN invests so much into drones, that's because they can't send a huge fleet of F/A-18E to fly for literally 12 hours without sacrificing it's performance drastically and jeopardize a flock of tankers, on the other hand the Su-35's specialty is to loiter for exactly 12 hours without any external fuel tanks, and to outperform a F-15, the best of the USAF in the 20th century, at any moment with the best radar and sensor equipment the 20th century can give, and the best missiles the 21st century can give. I'm not saying Russia is better in airpower than the US, tides have turned and now it's the US that have twice as much fighters as Russia, but one-on-one, the Su-35 is built to beat anything the US have built in the 20th century, and that includes the F/A-18E because it's an old design.
WARARROWS .Saratov warrior Oh and a sidenote about the Su-25, both the F/A-18E and the Su-25 can't go supersonic unless they have clean wings (no pods or anything) and both lose tremendous speed while turning, you know there's a reason why fighters that go beyond mach 1 have swept wings.
