this is how an air show should be videod without the music just the sound of the engines and a perfect display of a good aircraft 5****** to the pilot and the camerman well done
When I was in the U. S. A. F. in the 70's, the F-4 Phantom was my favorite and always will be. Saw the Thunderbirds back then. Later, the Blue Angels in Grand Prairie, Tx. Loved every minute. Now favorite is FA-18 Hornet. Gotta-Love-It. Simply Amazing. Pilots of these birds are the luckiest people on the planet; and hardest working. Thanks to the pilots of these great birds, America is the best in the world.
There are very people able to extract the very best of such airplane! Mr Traven is one of these! This demo is just breathtaking! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing vid! Cheers
havent watched a hornet dance in two decades. wasnt really impressed when she was new. superhornet has some sweet moves and is most impressive. thanks for this quality share.
My son and I saw this display last year...I am amazed from the comments that this thing doesn't have thrust vectoring as I assumed from the incredible way it moves it must have...a truly amazing piece of engineering and knocks spots off the eurofighter given what i know now..
Wow. I just saw the F-18 vid and it moves so smooth and tight. Now I find the latest vid on the Super Hornet it's even MORE smooth, nimble and clean tighter turns. Agility & Power with no Thrust Vector. One Word: AWESOME.
Hah! Thrust vectoring is for sissy's! This guy obviously doesn't need it. That was a truly amazing display of what a Super Bug can do in the hands of a phenomenal pilot. Well done, Sir!
***** Yea, my point was that in a realistic scenario a F-18 is hardly ever this maneuverable. Mainly because of the payload, but like you said it could be jettisoned. But it would still have the pylons, which are actually angles outwards at like 13 degrees I believe, which makes the jet extremely less aerodynamic. And finally in these demonstrations the planes have a fraction of the fuel they would have and need in a combat environment.
***** It really is. And that is even if we ever get into Air - Air combat again. Because really the only people that would be able to compete with us (enemy wise) would be China and Russia. And although it looks now like there is a lot of tension I highly doubt we will be having air campaigns like in WWII.
***** That isn't fool proof. In Red Flag exercises there are plenty of cases where fighters can not get a radar lock on a F22 when they are within visual range.
Ricardo trav an is the chief f-18 test pilot hence what he can get that thing doing!he was awesome at fairford the same year too!and he likes making noise which I love!
this performance proves that tvn are not a necessary component for maneuverability. very impressive. In a dogfight a jet must b maneuverable enough to b able to use its machine gun, if it comes to that.
Hell of a fighter. Top notch. Imagine vectoring on this design? Too bad there is no youtube videos showing what an f-22 can truly do. You would be amazed.
Hello dears, your channel is like a awesome goldmine - digging for founding all that nuggets is an adventure for airplane enthusiasts T H A N K YOU !!! !!!
The most impressive naval aircraft.... Damn look at that high manoeuvrable machine.. Super Hornet must be the most manoeuvrable naval fighter in service...
its to perform its high AoA maneuvers. The limiters on the Super Hornet doesn't have any restrictions, as far as a expert on Super Hornets. The AoA limiters doesn't have any restrictions, it's an unlimited AoA for the Super Hornet. Also yes it is a performer just like the Sukhoi aircraft, but without TVC's which is amazing.
i wonder what it would sound like in valley mountains etc were there was an echo the sound this aircraft is enough to make you do an hasty retreat what a machine
Out of all fighters, I must say, the F-18F Super Hornet is the most beautiful and sexiest looking of all. I like the Su-30 family very much, but there's something about this bird that looks menacing more so than the swan, elegant appearance of the Sukhois. The smaller size is also more appealing. I've loved the MiG-21 and IMO is the second most beautiful fighter ever built right after this one, followed by the Mirage delta series. MiG-29, F-16, F-15 all outstanding but this one here...
It's the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet. The McDonnell Douglas corporation already was defunct by 1997. So now the product is now on the hands of Boeing Defense. But it's still the airframe designed from McDonnell.
Impressive display of the Super Hornet performing its high AOA maneuvers and how good it can preform in slow speed WVR dogfight. Compared to the American version of the demo I think it's worse to demonstrate the Hornets in the USA. I prefer this kind of demo but you don't see this often in US shows.
The Eurofighter perhaps yes. The MiG 29 is most famous for being shot down by F-15's. It has a negative kill/loss ratio and its the plane it has shot down the most is the civilian cesna.
I did manage to see it. It was cheesy and great at the same time. You know the Super Hornet and SU-35 are actually competitive against each other in WVR and BVR. I'd like to see the Super Hornet vs SU-35 in a real fight. That will be a crow pleasing moment.
I personally think hat it could be a valid fighter, with that sort of maneuverability. Sure, it's big, bulky...doesn't look that nice from all angles. But man, the thing is actually pretty fun looking to fly! I would want it if I were going into the navy.
The F-18 does what alot of TV planes do, shame the Navy never went to the nasa designed ThrustVector system. If you ever get to watch the vids of it, its amazing what an F-18 can do with it.
It probably is not a limit of the airframe that is given to Australia. The planes have a G-limiter programmed into the flight computer. I assume this value can be adjusted by whoever owns the aircraft.
F-22 has better thrust to weight and has thrust vectoring over the E/F, but the E/F still wins in the visual arena (almost) every time because of the combination of JHMCS and AIM-9X. Last I heard the F-22 HMD was cancelled/delayed.
Just wanted to know if anyone else saw the display by the new su-35 at Paris this year and your thoughts on it. From what i saw of it, and other documentary's i've seen, it looks as though Sukhoi have finally got thier act together. Especially with the upgraded avionics and radar. If it ever went head to head with the Super Hornet, that is one battle i would love to see.
I agree I do not understand why they feel we need to hear loud rock or "urban" music blaring at us. In the 70s they used to just tell you what maneuvers the pilot was doing & such.
