I replaced the ATF on my Versa 4AT RE4F03C Transmission after 5 ½ years of service, at 101,000 Km. I used the Factory Service Manual as a guide, but did not follow it exactly. Valvoline Transmax Synthetic ATF was used as replacement for the Nissan Matic S specified. The existing ATF was very black, and I got evidence of metallic sludge and shavings in the pan, by using a diy wire dipstick through the dip stick tube. However, I did not remove the tranny pan because I could not source the pan gasket. The local dealership did not have any, and all the gaskets online did not match the shape of my pan. If you can get your gasket, then the pan should be removed and cleaned. The following was done: 1) Removed dip stick, and found it was really a short dummy that did not extend into the tranny pan. 2) Removed battery and battery support in order to ease access to the dip stick tube. 3) Removed dip stick tube to ensure that it was open to transmission. 10mm spanner required. 4) Replaced dip stick tube, which would be used for filling new ATF. 5) Removed drain plug on pan, and then removed inner overflow tube, in order to drain all ATF from pan. 19mm socket for drain plug, and 5mm allen hex key for overflow tube required. 6) Replaced drain plug ONLY, and filled tranny with new ATF through funnel into dipstick tube. Added the same amount that was drained out. 7) Reattached battery, started car, and cycled gears for 2 minutes. I left funnel in place, and did not reinstall battery support for this. 8) I then removed drain plug, and bled off ATF. Reinstalled drain plug, and repeated filling and running. 9) ATF was drained a total of 3 times. 6 ½ quarts of new ATF used in total. 10) I reinstalled the overflow tube in the pan before the last ATF fill. Added ATF until fluid began overflowing through drain. Allowed overflow to reduce to a drip, then reinstalled drain plug. 11) Ensured car was on level ground, ran engine, cycled gears, and checked temperature as per FSM. Used an infrared thermometer aimed at pan. Was 98 deg F. 12) WITH ENGINE IDLING, I removed drain plug and checked for overflow. None seen, so I added ATF to tranny slowly until drip was seen from drain. I then reinstalled drain plug. 13) Engine was shut off, dip stick reinstalled, and battery and support reinstalled. End of operation.

So I'm trying to figure out when the transmission liquid is full. So while the car is on, remove the drain plug, that long 5 mm allen key tube should be in correct? And add the fluid until we see some transmission oil coming out.

@@WinKongmuang After removing the drain plug, you also need to remove the level tube with the 5mm Allen Hex key. After removing both, you'll be able to drain out about 2qts of oil. Then fit level tube back in and fill ATF fluid till you see oil dripping out. Then install the drain plug. See page 26 & 27 to get a better idea of how it looks. www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/12407461/k13-n17-training-manualpdf-dots-nissan

Is that suitable for use that valvoline synthetic fluid? Is the transmissions smooth after the replacement instead of matic s.? I wanna try that valvoline

@@duniasementara7405 Car works good. Same fluid in tranny since video, 2 years ago.
