Surprisingly, it's not. The 1998 Falcons scored three touchdowns against the Panthers in 48 seconds. www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199810040atl.htm
I remember watching this, 7-0, dad gets up to get a cup of coffee. He returns, its still too hot to drink, and its 28-0. The quickest NFL disintegration on record.
There's 15 minutes in a quarter. The Jets possessed the ball for over 12 minutes in the 2nd quarter. They were outscored 35-3. It's safe to say that that was literally the worst possible quarter of football ever executed during an NFL game.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Julio London i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hall of Famers: Patriots: Robert Kraft (Owner), Bill Belichick (Head Coach), Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Logan Mankins, Vince Wilfork, Matthew Slater Jets: Nick Mangold, Darrelle Revis
It's a noble thing; to not be a fan boy that says YOU SUCK WE RULE. I dealt with Rams fans on a great video of Jared Goff cut ups titled 'Worst QB ever" which if you check the stats....Is true so far.
That first half by the Jets was football comedy at its best, right up to the fireworks going off after the field goal just before halftime (to make the score 35-3!!!). HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I watched this game alone while all my family celebrated Thanksgiving 2 states away (I had to work and couldn't travel) and I enjoyed every minute of it. Not even a Pats fan.
As a huge Edelman fan, I love watching this game form time to time. I can remember thinking back then that this kid Edelman was going to be something great and I really hope they keep him around. I knew Welker would eventually leave for a payday before his career ended and I was hoping Edelman would step up and just fill that role. In retrospect, Edelman surpassed Welker and all of everyone's expectations of his impact on this team and the league. In my opinoin, Edelman belongs in the Hall of Fame.
Obviously the Butt Fumble is the big story here. But the fumble at 1:06:30 is also funny. Just goes perfectly into Edelman's hands for the fourth Jets turnover and a score. He doesn't even have to manipulate his body to really catch it and it's like "Oh now it's for real over."
The Butt Fumble also directly resulted in that play since it was the Patriots’ ensuing kickoff after the Butt Fumble touchdown. So you could argue the Butt Fumble resulted in not just one free touchdown for the Patriots, but two free touchdowns. Very fitting.
I love watching this game. Iconic Jet's debacle! Sanchez's butt fumble is the one an only for the books! I love it! It is even funnier with special effect cartoonish tunes! What an embarrassing loss for the Jets!
Thanks, Bart. You introduced me to VK in one of your comments and I've been happily watching vintage through present day football ever since. You rock!
Here's a copy of that game on VK, a Russian site that has a crapload of NFL stuff in English. You'll have to spend 10 seconds signing up, but it's free and worth it. vk.com/video-29748932_170499733
I was laughing my butt off when it happened beast play in Pats Jets history in the at the time 11 years I started watching in late November so 10 years
Beyond the famous three plays, I think my favorite part is when the Pats run a play and Collingsworth says, "Patriots fans have to be disappointed, that's the first play run this quarter they haven't scored a touchdown on." And then three plays later, Brady hits Edelman for a 56 yard touchdown pass!
I saw all the Jets miscues and then somehow fell asleep at halftime, when I woke up, the game was already over. I slept with lights on and TV going thru a whole half of football. (I actually worked overnight tye night before and got very little sleep that day since it was Thanksgiving)
well they're playing again this weekend(on saturday) and even though the Jets have not made it to the play offs this yr., the Patriots have to come in the game with humility & respect towards their opponent, because the Jets are always a handful for the Pats! Btw i am a Pats fan, and i hope to see both Tom Brady & the entire Pats team, take the game seriously, mainly because the Jets 'have nothing to lose'.....you get the picture i hope!
1:03:30 Collinsworth peddling the theory that Moore was tossed back into Sanchez, which never happened on this play and the as the replay is confirming it did not happen, he continues to run with it. The buttfumble is 100% Sanchez - Brandon Moore gets 0% of the blame on this one. At 1:04:15 after seeing numerous replays that do not reflect anything that Wilfork did other than getting pushed back 2 yards, he's still at it. This is one of the most hilarious plays of all time, but it is hilarious because of the sheer incompetence of Sanchez, not a show of super human strength by Wilfork. Collinsworth is the absolute worst
Watching an old game like this is when it really hits me just how much commercial time occupies the 3 hours of a football game. I think I read somewhere that there is only 8 minutes of action in a football game. Ridiculous.
I guess the jets players and coaches forgetton that back from early 2000s when Herman Edwards said U PLAY TO WIN THE GAME but I missed they were comptieve team that were once was ground n pound runnin the ball n kicking patroits ass
The #buttfumble that pretty much summarizes the Jets disappointing seasons after their miraculous, inexplicable, unexpected playoff upset at New England
