I AM NOT A MECHANIC! This video is for informational purposes only. This process should be the same for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 Subaru Foresters. I purchased the cable on ebay.
Haven't been able to turn my left knob since the beginning of winter due to a similar issue. Wasn't sure how to fix it. Thank you for this video, it's fixed now!
Thank you for the this video, helped me fix the same issue on a 2011 Forester. I did find the cable is not snapped into the control but has a slide lock. The end of the cable has notches and the trick is pinching the two teeth on the mount to release the cable and pull it back. The broken cable was hard to remove but inserting the new cable was pretty fast. Make sure to have the wire already in place before doing this.
This just happened to my partners car yesterday on a 2011 haha. What timing. This is going to be super helpful for me thank you! I think it’s the same issue.
