It was declared that janeba won the spot, but the officials went back again and checked the race and they actually found out it was a tie, they offered Felix and Janeba a runoff, but she backed off and let her training partner take the spot. This has nothing to do with Felix bribing.
Felix did not bribe anyone, but no doubt Janeba was put in a precarious position. She had everything to lose and nothing to gain in a run-off, adversely, Felix had everything to gain. I think she felt insulted and betrayed by Felix (through a misinterpreted verbal concession by Felix to relinquish the 100m spot without a challenge). I would've had the young ladies compete against each other in Europe prior to the Games. The majority of the athletes continue to compete en route to the Games anyway...
@@gazzelle4 she has a spot on tne team to gain 😂. They both had the same issue/possibility. Allyson was going regardless in the 200. Allyson wasn’t a 100m runner and thereby it was tarmoh who has to prove herself. She gave up.
Tarmoh went from what should have been a ticket to stardom to an also ran because she agreed to, then refused to have a runoff with Allyson Felix. She and Felix finished 3rd with the same time. A "runoff" for a spot on the 2012 Olympic team was totally appropriate. Tarmoh refused to give herself that chance and it cost her. Felix went on to T&F glory.
Tarmoh ran the 4x1 in heats so she got a medal too, I think she was a bit upset about it because they told her she got the spot and everything and then they told her she didn't have it officially, it's playing with her emotions.
@@JaneDoane Tarmoh pulled out as she thought she had the place then this decision was overturned later so understandably must have been devastated and probably didn't want to end like that
Allyson Felix is a much better 200m and 400m runner. She is a fantastic sprinter and yet doesn’t have the muscular physique that the other women have. She is built more like an 800m or 1500m runner.
All Felix had to do was lean. Dipping your head is not leaning. You lean at the waist. If she had lean, there would have been no dispute about who got third place.
Yes Tormah won that spot & it seems that she should have been on that 100 meter Relay World Record Squad^But it's possible that they may not have achieved that World Record with Her^Not to say that they would not have with Her^But maybe she opted out by her own choosing to allow Allison to run because of Experience^
Felix was the better choice over Tarmoh for the 4x100m because her slow start doesn't matter in any leg except the first (she ran 2nd leg), but her higher top speed makes all the difference, which is also why she does so well in the 200m. Jeter claimed, in a later interview, that she didn't "click" with Tarmoh in their 4x100m relay practice, and requested that Knight run the third leg instead. I guess she got her way, and it was probably a good call.
@@isovideo7497 Tarmoh ran 1st leg in the heat in London and her hand-off was sketchy there too although the US easily qualified. Lauren Williams was also on that heat squad as anchor, but the US needed to be perfect and everybody remembered 2008 with her and Muna Lee..sooooo Knight was the safest choice for the Final.
Nicholas Harper because they rechecked the race and declared it a tie. So they decided to make Felix and tarmoh have a tie breaker race by themselves but tarmoh backed out
Janebah Tarmoh let Allyson run 3 spot in olympic, they are a training partner, that decision is totally from Janebah as a friend, nothing about the rule ,lol, and the result in London showed that, you all know Tarmoh get Gold at 4x100 Relay team with world record,(she run in heat) Allyson Felix came home with 3 Gold , and PB in 100 M.lol...
You’re talking like you’re talking facts, Jenebah should of been put on the relay team as the 3rd leg, She worked just as hard as Felix did, there’s no way she would of gave it up. Felix is a crybaby. She lost fair and square. She ordered a protest. Which resulted in a runoff which is embarrassing. How karma works though when Felix got beat when the Bahamian girl dived across the line on her in the 400
Bianca Knight deserved to be on that record breaking relay team. Her chemistry with the teammates was stronger. Not only do you need to be fast, that stick needs to get around in a timely fashion. Whenever Tarmoh is in a relay, there is a delay in the stick getting around, or a mishap occurs. As far as the runoff, Tarmoh should have fought for her place. If you look at the slow mo, it was a tie. Tarmoh and Felix’s coach, Bobby Kersey, called it. When you step in those blocks, all friendships end at that moment. Tarmoh should have agreed to the run off.
@@deebee476 Yes, I agree with you and the US was only 0.27 from the record with their "B" Team, so they could've had Lauryn or Jeneba running, but Bianca's third leg against VCB was EPIC. Jamaica made a bad decision by putting Kerron last imo, I have a feeling if it was SAFP then the record would've been like a 40.6 because CJ would've pushed a bit harder.
@@andrewgabor2.0 This karma bitch must be BFFs with Felix then, huh? She won gold in 200m. And the two relays. She got Olympic silver in 400m, how did that work in Tarmoh's favour? And went home with 2 relay golds in 2016 too.
@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 yes very much the female 100m great, though we cant deny Elaine is nipping at greatness as well, if fit she is the only rival to SAFP...

A "runoff" for a spot on the 2012 Olympic team was totally appropriate. By declining to race Tarmoh forfeited her chance and it cost her. Felix, declared the winner went on to T&F glory. And deservedly so.
