Great camera angles and clear instructions without all the unnecessary narrative about your childhood journey prior to your P2402 error, LOL! Super helpful; I'll be following you.
Thank you for the video! I really appreciate it. I have a 2012 Volvo XC90, that had the same P2402 code and also a P043E code. The auto parts store said it was a leaking gas cap. Everything looked good on the cap gasket so I replaced the evap pump with the exact one you mentioned below. There was a slight difference. Only 2 of the 3 screws were accessible. I had too first take out 2 bolts that held a housing that the pump was attached to(by the 3 screws). I cleared the codes and so far so good. Thanks again!
Great gouge! It was easy to get to, I used a screw driver to pop off the hose clamps and used your advice to use the screw clamps. You saved me a bunch of pain. Probably a 20 minute job; most of the time was spent trying to find my tools.
Fantastic job. I have the same xc60 and just replaced aboth camshaft position sensora along with the connectors. BTW The connectors cost more than the sensors. One code left, which is trhe Evap. Thank you.
Excellent video. Out of curiosity, how long did this take you? The local Volvo dealer says 5.5 hours--labor and parts $1,200!! Like many other viewers, I have the dreaded P2402 code. I reset the code and ran some fuel system cleaner to see if that would purge enough contaminants to keep the Check Engine Light from coming on. Unfortunately, it didn't work. My Volvo is the S60, but the process should be almost identical.
I think this is the problem on my 2010 Volvo. Having a hard time to put gas and after the check ingene is on. Volvo mechanic can't find the problem. Thanks for the video help a. Lot.
I believe it is a totally different story on my 2005 V70. It is towards the left and on top of the subframe. The charcoal canister gets in the way also. And the exhaust, and a heat shield... I didn't realize that yours is a P3 mine is P2.
I just changed mine today on my 2011 XC60. The process was exactly the same. I only had very basic tools and a foam matt and my phone flashlight and it only took me 1hr 30min to do
Hi great view and video I have a problem. The evap with not complete with the scanner. Everything is complete but the evap will not go to complete. Help.2012 xc 60
Did you ever get it fixed? I have the same sound and I ordered one of these and a fuel pressure sensor. I am replacing both today. Trying to make a video of the process.
Any OBDii scanner will clear a check engine light. Either buy a cheap one off Amazon or go to your local auto parts store and they will probably have one you can borrow.
Melches Garage. Thank you for the video. Im curious, my 2010 has a electronic sound when it's off at the rear. Is this part the issue in your experience? It's repeatedly making the noise every 5- 10 min. Kills the battery too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
the Blind Ref it’s possible it’s related to this part but the only symptom I ever noticed was the check engine light being on. It’s my wife’s car and I don’t drive it much, so it’s possible it made some noise and she never noticed it.
Thank you for the timely response. So you recieved a code. I haven't. You Ever have battery issues? I noticed fuse 39 for that that parts schematic was not blown. It also made the sound with the fuse removed. Perhaps its th charcoal filter. There's a solenoid there. Your video will come in handy if that's the issue. I appreciate you. Wishing you and your family well. Thanks again
Why did you have to replace this part? What problem was it causing? I am asking because I have a code P2401 Appreciate you putting this video out there. I own a 2010 and I am experiencing numerous issue, just trying to understand this vehicle.
s0nic2nr if I remember correctly I think that’s the same code I was getting and that fixed it. I struggle to find much info on the xc60s so anytime I figure something out I try and post a video about it. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any other questions.
EVAP leaks/blockages may cause some studdering depending on the car and severity. In general its just a system that ensures your car is properly recycling gas fumes and controlling emissions. You can probably drive your car with no issues, but if you live in an area where emissions inspections are required you do need to take care of it.
thank you so much for posting this video. extremely helpful. but I had the plastic molded hose with the fitted clamps on my wife's 2013 XC60 R-Design AWD. had to uncrimp the fitted clamp using a long nose vise grip then pry with a screw driver to release the clamp. then had to make a 1/2 inch vertical cut with a utility knife blade to just enough to loosen the molded plastic so I could pull the hose off. did this for both hoses. very tight spot. the detection pump will fit through only a certain way out so no choice but to take the hoses off first. good luck. it took a couple of hours because I had to figure things out. if you're strong enough to cut the clamp with a long reach plier cutter, you could do this in 30-45 minutes.
