when thom said his dad was a nuclear physicist and they walked about with test tubes of plutonium i thought.... explains alot could be how thom is a superhuman mutant music being
If you put english closed captioning on it's hilarious what it thinks thom is saying. At 3:22 i quote "that was a big staff and i hope to pound jesus jesus and do anything else"
I have an idea for infinite energy. Toast always lands on the butter side right? And cats always land on their feet right? So just tape a piece of toast to a cat with the butter side up and then there will be non-stop spinning, thus, infinite energy...
nah damon would make great music with thom, i just think this time around he gave other producers a lot of freedom in the making of Humanz, there are songs that you can tell he put more input towards which he sings by himself and are my favs from the album. damon is as equally passionate about music and exploring sounds as thom and they would make great music together.
Dear Radiohead , on topic of climate change as I write you today 8 February 2020. As we all are aware now, there are so many factor that come into play that have brought us all - every living thing on earth to this possible total extinction ... so I am always researching this grim shit - justifies paranoia fuels me true - my latest revelation is the nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands were in the late 1940’s and 1950’s they sent soldiers to bury the plutonium in the early 1970’s - what’s 18 inches of concrete going to cover up in a small strip of uninhabited island that is being submerged-Ofcourse this is inevitable since before we were born - nobody had any foresight- why the fuvk did they think blowing up nuclear bombs in the middle of the Pacific Ocean was a good idea anyway ? Did they really think fall out goes away ? - it’s kinda bizarre like when a star dies... I can’t remember- not that I don’t totally enjoy aspects of the internet and heat and lights - travelling - everything We do has a unsustainable action required - we love in sick societies with little culture left -it’s time to create an alternate internet , connection should be possible by solar energy and or winds - im sure we will need to get fast on re-engineering wind mills , as the hetdyreams are no longer predictable a d come on forceful gusts - the weather is changing the oceans are dying and rising-interesting being allowed the time to learn and think about all loss of life-while everyone chose oblivious -“I am sorry for the dinosaurs that roam the earth the sky turns green where I end nd u begin - “ “genie let of the bottle” the islanders who are still on the small strips of the Marshall Islands know we haven’t very long - learning about the tomb - I am understanding why we hit so many tipping points - knots in stomach - dreams are not okay - I am having a hard time falling in love with corrupt psychopaths taking the world into decaying oblivion in fact I quite don’t like it at all
It's very distracting to put the music of this band in the background of this knowledge deepening discussion. It gives insufficient respect to either focal points going on in this interview...way to go.
I believe Nigel Godrich just said here that he and Thom don't like Cream? I find it incredibly difficult that such talented people in the field of music wouldn't like them.
Much as I respect and admire Thom as a musician he's talking out of his hoop when it comes to energy generation. He isn't a specialist on the subject, people should leave him to make excellent records and he should leave those in the know to make low carbon energy for everyone else. Anything nuclear always comes with so much knee jerk paranoia.
powerful people tend to have opinions for a bit of everything... and how they become that way doesn't seem to affect what field they can / can't interfere as long as they stay famous / powerful... and unfortunately more people listen to them than "experts"...
