This video helped a lot. There is a lot of great tips to avoid mistakes and what tools you need and what you can use if you don't have one. A lot of the commenters here are full of s***. What does everyone expect? A step by step inlaying that takes 6 hours? It wouldn't help a bit. You still couldn't do it. I takes time and a lot of tries to perfect your technique. The video is for a group of people who are already into making inlays. It's a filmed meeting for those who maybe couldn't attend. Listening to those old amazing people gets some knowledge between the ears. Some of them made mistakes for years and those tiny bits they talk about give you the direction to avoid that. If they use particular sawblades, this group maybe tried 30 different ones and chose these.

Most woodworkers are so afraid of glue. I use it to my advantage. After I've cut out and glued my inlay or banding, I actually use my finger and rub a generous amount of glue on the outer edges then use an orbital sander to sand it all together right away. The wet glue, and the sawdust from the sanding, create a paste that fills in any minute gaps and also takes stain better than any wood filler on the market. Of course...I wouldn't attempt this procedure if the inlay has ebony mixed with ivory or holly....but if the circumstance provides....It has worked amazing for me for years....my furniture has even passed through big furniture chains using this procedure.

Soooo frustrating. Can't see what is going on. I pity the poor camera man who is trying to keep up with a demonstrator who has no idea how to present to the camera. When you are show tools to the audience - keep them still for a while so the camera man has a chance to focus on them. The moral is; Don't try to demonstrate your craft skill if you have no skill in demonstrating.

Camera work is awful! Makes instruction Very Confusing. Sorry. This video needs to be better planned not for content but for video presentation. Not easy with this topic.

instructor know the subject but has no idea on how to deliver it in easy and short way. The camera controller is pathetic and should not do this again. This is exactly how it should not be done. I am very sorry for siting for that length of time and watching such a subject that could have been done in about 20 minutes and much better delivered.

He has taken much of his technique from Steve Latta or his videos without giving Steve credit. His delivery is poor and spends more time tooting his own horn than demonstrating. Get Steve’s DVD’s they are much clearer. I worked with Steve and he is a master teacher, this guy is not

I never could get a scraper to cut a nice shaving until I was shown a method where you stone the flat side to a decent polish around the edges, then draw file the edges with a smooth cut file, then burnish these same surfaces by rubbing with burnisher, then turn the burrs. Always oil your scrapers, learned that the hard way.

I know alot of different places for tools to do inlay work, lutherie tools, (string instrument maker) Micro Mark, a tool supply catalog for model makers, gunsmithing tools, @ Brownell's catalog, and the list goes on .

Mr. Kline's artistic talent is truly amazing, but this was tedious, unorganized, & poorly taught.
