Great video! I've had duct tape around the edges of my roof for almost a week now cause I couldn't get it closed one night. No time to diagnose since I was in middle of a shutdown. At least now I'll be able to get it closed properly until I have the to order parts. Thank you for sharing. And also, I respect your professionalism and work ethics, it's great that you take measures to preserve your customers' interior
Thumbs up! Thanks for the video, my roof broke like this this week and it was a bear to get it to close and seal up. Now time to get it fixed since the truck is under warranty . . .
Mine broke tonight, i heard a pop when I foolishly tried to open it. Now only one side closes all the way. However, I now feel confident I can at least get it closed tomorrow. I hit the like button and subscribed, thanks again!
This was helpful. My '11 started "Cracking" and was stuck trying to close one side with the other not quite there. Popped out the 4 screws for the glass, cleaned the track and lined it up so at least I won't leak water. Looks like a full replacement in the future. Amazing how tiny the broken parts are. Thank you! at least now my sunroof is closed.
I have my 96 Explorer sunroof down for a leak. The drain cup in the back leaks a bit at the seam. Not the tubes or channel. Going to add some roof sealer in the track and see...Never heard of widespread sunroof problems happening with older Fords. Very common now on new stuff. I did the slide rebuild with my neighbor on his F150; Had to drill rivets and all.
Thanks - I've purchase many new Ford F150 trucks since the early 90's. Three of them have had the roof issue with the panoramic roof. And to our point they always have had a third party come in to replace the track. The track is made of cheap material. Ford knows it and continues to build them. JUNK
Great job! Thanks for posting. If you have time I'm going to leave my issue explanation here and check back to see if you have responded. My 2016 F150 Lariat FX4 with sun roof sliding fabric screen began to wrinkle badly so I took it in to Kendall Ford here near Boise. It was this way from the factory and it was under warranty. They destroyed it. After 5 return trips within 6 weeks, to include a broken rail assembly, broken headliner, torn fabric, and other problems they finally got it back to me but there is now a rattle. I took it to another dealership in the area and they located the rattle source. They state that the foam blocks that are supposed to be near the rear up behind the headliner to keep the slack in the headliner from banging up against the roof are missing. Apparently these blocks create slight tension on the headliner and come with all new headliners but are missing. Either Kendall took them off, or the factory never included them in the package. The person actually moved and rattled the headliner to recreate the sound and it was spot on the sound I was hearing.
FJB cant wait for 2024...I have an older lexus GS300 with similar tilt and open sunroof to this one in your video...When i hit the tilt button, the motor tries to tilt the sunroof. On the right hand side (the knob moves) but the left hand side there is no movement at all.....also it seems the glass sits a little lower on the left also...tracks look like they are in good shape with no cracks..any suggestions you may have would be appreciated
