After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ru-vid.comUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

I have one of these, the Crosman 1077, and it is VERY VERY fun to shoot! Also, it is a very accurate pellet rifle. I highly recommend this model for target practice or playing around, it's just a blast to shoot. I have a good scope on mine, but it's still great to shoot with open sights, because of the good fiber optic front sight. And, you are correct, it is very well-made.. Light weight, but very solid polymer stock and forearm construction. I have a lot of air rifles, but this one is definitely one of my favorites.

This sells for $230 here in New Zealand. BUT, I was lucky enough to buy mine as a "as new" trade in, hardly ever used, cost me $150 and tbh I really like it. Seems reliable so far and has pretty good power for back yard plinking.

I bought a new 1077 about 7-8 years ago from Pyramid Air. It came as a combo with a pretty decent scope. Not that crappy little one that comes on so many inexpensive air rifles. My 1077 has a pretty bad trigger. There isn't a lot you can do about it, because it actually is a double action "revolver". Pulling the trigger cocks the gun, advances the 12 round clip in the magazine, and drops the hammer. Just like shooting a revolver double action. That trigger is a drawback. Always put a drop of either, Pellgunoil, if you don't mind spending WAY too much for a non-detergent oil, or use 30 weight non-detergent motor oil, which works just fine, on the tip of the CO2 cartridge. That is to lube the seal where the gas is transfered from the canister into the airgun. And, don't tighten the cap, as you pierce the CO2 can, as if you are in a tough man competition, and you can nick that seal. You'll get the feel of piercing the can real quickly. My 1077 seems to be getting about 40 shots before the gas pressure lessons and the pellets start dropping on the target. What the 1077 has going for it is, it is by far the most inexpensive true repeating air rifle. Some Crosman air rifles use a 5 shot clip, but on those, you have to pump up that multi-pump air rifle, open the bolt, and then advance that clip yourself. The 1077 holds 12 pellets and, as I said, pulling the trigger does all that work. It is not the most accurate air rifle by a long shot, but, it is a fun shooter, and can get groups sometimes at 1/4" and even less, at 10 yards. But, it put out too many uncalled fliers when I compare it to my more accurate air rifles. I really have had no problems with mine, and it probably has about 700-700 pellets gone through it. By the way, Crosman has brought back the 1077W, which has a nice wood stock on it. And, yes, the 1077 is very much modelled after the Ruger 1022.

I appreciate your video. Good view of unlocking and assembly of pellet loader. I especially appreciate you not demonstrating a scope add on to the rifle, Easy to follow instructions in this video. Overall, this is the BEST video for the 1077 I’ve viewed.

The trigger works great. It's no more hard to pull then any of the other guns I have, BUT given that it is a pellet repeater, it helps to give a short pause between each shot to allow the air to re-pressurize. As for leaks, a common problem with CO2 anything is the need for seals because you are not dealing with built in pressure chamber. ALL OF THEM LEAK. How badly this one leaks depends on how well seated the CO2 cartridge is, and how well lubricated the seal is. I can usually get 55 shots out of 1 CO2 cartridge immediately after loading it. If you loaded a CO2, and waited I'm guessing it would blow out all it's pressure after a couple hours. Still the best cheap repeating pellet gun you can find. =)

I have kept CO2 in my Crosman 1077 for two months without loosing any shots. Same for my Crosman 2240, and Crosman 2250. So if yours leaks that bad you may wish to check the seals. Also over-tightening the CO2 cap can cause leaks.

in the early 60s, i had a ruger 1022 which i liked very much, but had to give it up, because i moved to another island and could not take it with me. just recently i found out about this 1077, and i just had to get one. all my shooting now days is mostly indoors, so this is perfect. i shoot in a spare bedroom at only 10 ft away, but use carpet and cardbox backing. the triger is very good, and since shooting is close, the open sights is enough. it's so acurate right out of the box. sometimes i shoot it outside at 30 ft away. i have an xbg multipump 177, and with 10 pumps, it;s rated at 800 fps, but yet the 1077 went through more cardboxes!! so this has a lot of power...getting an average of 60 shots per co2. the first co2 went 77 shots !!! so far no problems, hope it stays that way. but for the price, i'll just buy another one if anything goe's wrong..

For home defense, crosman 1077 would be convincing as a real rifle so most burglar/home intruder would probably run away. But for personal defense I would think a semi-auto air pistol like Daisy 426, or TR50 which shoot 50 caliber hard plastic balls would work better. Or even better, at close range a strong pepper spray. These could be carried at all times as concealed carry which is better option than a rifle. if these pistols were to be used in self defense and shoot another person in the face or eye with BB or paintball, I would think that it needs to be in dire circumstances and at close range to complete surprise to the attackers.

this gun can be made decent, I am a top end PCP guy through and through and a few high end spring guns (one a TX200, a Walther LGU and a Diana 56TH) but I have a soft spot for Modding Crosman 13xx series guns, 22xx series guns and the 1077 and have a wildfire that I haven't taken out the box yet.. I have built 20 to 25 22xx guns converting most to regulated bottle fed HPA guns, and some tank fed Co2.. and building 13xx series guns to stupid power levels... anyhow I have built 3 1077s, one turned to HPA that I did a few years ago, one using a 12oz Co2 tank and dummy Co2 and the other machined a new tube and did it as bulk fill Co2 the bulk fill gun didn't turnout so great.. anyhow stock the gun isn't very accurate, trigger is horrid.. feels like there is ground up coral in it (I am a self admitted trigger snob, match grade triggers truly spoil a person) and it's silly heavy (around 12lbs with 1.1 to 1.2 inches of take up before break because it's a double action trigger set up, nothing can be done about the long pull as it has to draw the hammer back) BUT with a little work on the trigger, changing a spring and some polishing if sear, hammer and lifter contact, you can cut the trigger pull down to about 6.5lbs and gain about 25fps due to polishing the hammer so there's less drag on the sear and in the hammer tube.. first thing to do to this gun and anyone that owns one should do this before they even shoot it.. tap the front site off, and you will notice the barrel that's inside the barrel liner just flops around inside with about 1/16th inch of movement and can move that 1/16th inch in any direction 360 degrees, the site does NOT slide in and stabilise the barrel as many think it does it does NOT.. I REPEAT DOES NOT.. so take some tape of foam (I use the foam that pyramid air packs their pellet tins in for shipping i have tons of it lol) cut it to fit the inside diameter of the barrel line snuggly and then take a pair of scissors and with one side stick a hole in the center and push it in the barrel liner with the actual barrel going through the center hole you made of course.. that will INSTANTLY improve grouping of the gun by a good bit.. 1077s have very poorly crowned barrels as most all crosman guns do (other then their Lother Walther barreled guns and the Green mountain barrels on the Mrod) when I build a 1077 or any crosman gun for that matter i always cut a nice pretty 11 degree lathe turned crown (I know most people don't have a lathe, you can still make a nice crown with diamond paste and a round head brass screw and some 0000 steel wool to finish it off) that will aid in accuracy MASSIVELY, clean the barrel when you first get it as crosman barrels come hugely nasty dirty inside that will help accuracy a lot as well so cleaning the barrel and the foam barrel support is a must on the 1077 be it if that's all the Modding you want to do or not.. my dummy Co2 bottle fed 1077 will put 10 4.53mm head size 8.66 grain H&N FTTs and JSB Exact RS 7.33 grainers in a half inch CTC groups all day long at 20 yards (Stock your lucky to put ten inside a inch at 10 yards) my regulated bottle fed HPA 1077 will do 10 shot groups that run slightly larger then the Co2 version on average it will put 10 inside 5/8th inch at 20 yards and it likes JSB 10.34s the best with h&n Baracuda hunters a very close second it's regulated at 1240psi and pushing the 10.34s to 17ftlbs so it's shooting to hot to run lighter pellets and hope for accuracy.. the tank fed dummy Co2 gun is pushing The 8.66 grain FTTs to 9.5ftlbs on a 85 degree day.. and on screaming hot Florida summer days when it's a 100 or better out it will push about 10.5ftlbs... both guns use dummy Co2s, I opened up the valves for about 13% nore volume with a end mill and polished the internals to mirror finish, went with a lighter check valve spring on both valves, both guns running stock hammer spring but the HPA fed guns hammer spring was stretched .3 inch to increase preload (I wanted to go to a heavier hammer spring but that would increase trigger pull weight so I couldn't I just stretched the stock spring adding a littler more hammer force and not much more trigger pull weight) and used an extremely light check valve spring inside the valve, much lighter then the tank fed Co2 gun.. all this ended up being very fun to do, it almost doubled the power of a Stock 1077 with the tank fed Co2 model and almost 4x the power of a Stock 1077 on the HPA fed model, the stock guns put out 5 to 5.5ftlbs on a hot day with 7.9 grain pellets.. these guns are a blast to shoot now make great power.. they are will shoot under two inch 10 shot groups at 50 yards, stay under an inch 10 shot groups out to about 30 yards, at 20 yards they are both shooting 10 shot groups that are right at .50 inch with the HpA gun being slightly bigger then a half inch but after 30 yards the HPA gun will shoot the tightest groups... I had a Hawke 4-12x40AO half mildot scope laying around thast needed a home so the HpA model wears that and I had a old UTG Swat 4-12x44 compact that my P-rod used to wear so the Co2 model got that.. I know this was a very long post but these guns came out absolitely awesome and I'm thinking about building another that will be HPA bottle fed with a 13ci 3000psi tank regulated to 14 to 1500psi and 3d printing a AR style stock for it, printing up a 10 chamber mod for it, tuning to 20ftlbs with H&N Baracuda or JSB heavies and adding a old EoTech I have laying around a flip to side 5x magnifier that I have and never used.. that will be a sick looking gun that at 20ftlbs will put the smack down and whatever it hits and if like the other two will be able of decent 50 yard accuracy (2 inch 50 yard groups are horrible by even hold sensitive magnum power high end spring guns, but this is a 65 dollar gun that would be well over 5 inch 50 yard 10 shot groups knocking that down to 2 inch or less is amazing) and is semi auto!! I think.. yup I think I'm going to order one right now and build it.

Effectiveness largely depends on the skill/will of the user. Technically, you can kill a person with a plastic butter knife if you are skilled to do so, are comfortable doing it, and if you have experience making shanks out of them, maybe even more so. This is not a gun that is going to penetrate multiple layers of clothing, or even under the most freakish of circumstances blow a persons head apart. If you take out a person's eyes with the pellets, and then beat them unconscious/dead with the rifle, how effective the rifle is will be dependent on your ability/willingness to do that. If you own an actual gun, whether or not it's an effective means of self defense is still mainly dependent on your skill (aim), and willingness to hurt/kill other people. If you can't aim, or pull the trigger, a real gun might as well be an expensive paperweight.

Actually it is modeled / based off of the Ruger 1022. If you research it (instead of relying on a Walmart employment) you will see all the airgun gurus, and other experienced airgun people say it is modeled / based off the Ruger 1022 also Crosman even says it is. No it is not "Exactly" identical to a Ruger 1022 but you can plainly see by the styling that it is modeled / based after it. I am a firearms expert (Military) and an advanced airgun owner and a Crosman airgun buff.

Btw guys just because he says that you can use a 1077 for self defense doesn't mean it will be effective. The CO2 will get weaker everytime you shoot it and you will only get an max fps of 600 to 700, even though it's multiple shots and pellets hurt. Does not mean it will stop an intruder effectively, use an actual firearms.

This thing is as strong as a pumpmaster and way more fun. Also, it is really quiet. I live in a small village with only like a half of an acre of property so my neighbors are pretty close. Granted a gamo swarm is a repeater but you still have to break the barrel to prime the gun again and it is not as fun as rapidly putting lead into a water jug. So I reccomend it.

True, it has a mid range FPS which is good for some light hunting, and target shooting. The main attraction is the multi shot clips, and ease of reloading which is very similar to the Ruger 10/22. It really begins to shine when you connect it to a bulk flow adapter, and standard paintball CO2 tanks. =)

"high powered air rifle" The Crosman 1077 is considered to be a low powered air rifle. It is NOT suitable for hunting(small game) purposes. Its intended use is punching holes in paper and rolling pop cans.
@TimFinnemore
@TimFinnemore 9 лет назад
+Dan Paul 780fps is not quite "low power", considering a 22 is only 14-1800, and any pellet traveling above 1200 tends to tumble, so most higher power are 8-1200. 11-1300 is a bad range, because the pellet slows and tumbles bad in that range, so you need to get to 14-1500 fo true HP.. But you do have to admit, for the price (I paid 39.88, retail) its not a bad, and just about the top speed for a 12gr CO2. I have single pump pneumatics, that get 1k+, but penny for penny the 1077 is a nice buy.
@danpaul2989
@danpaul2989 9 лет назад
+Tim Finnemore 780fps - the manufacturers up to a maximum of claim for the 1077 is 625fps, and even that is a bit optimistic. Paul Capello(Airgun Reporter / Pyramyd Air) got an average of around 560fps with 7.5gr pellets.Power - air rifles are generally measured by muzzle energy, not the manufacturers claimed FPS. You have to have chronograph numbers and the weight of the pellet used.An air rifle shooting 15gr pellets at 800fps delivers over 21ft-lbs of muzzle energy, while one shooting 5gr pellets at 1200fps delivers 16ft-lbs.The 1077 generally sells for around $65 so you got a heck of a deal.

+Dan Paul.... I agree, this rifle is great for target practice and knocking down cans or shooting spinners.. But it's not any good for hunting, just not enough power. . However, there are mods out there, and bulk fill systems available for this model, that kick up the power significantly (around 700 fps), and then it could be used for small game such as squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc.

@ Dan Paul: I know, right? I mean, I can't believe this guy builds this pop-gun up to something it isn't even close to being, almost like he has stock in the company or something? Either he is one serious bullshitter or he's attempting to impress someone who knows absolutely nothing about airguns. This video is the worst bag of bullshit I've seen in a long time when it comes to a cheap beginner airgun. Don't get me wrong, the Crosman 1077 is a nice little starter semi-auto repeater for someone starting out with their first CO2 rifle but, the 1077 is nothing at all like this guy describes it? Is he trying to convince himself here or what? I have 2 of them myself and would definitely recommend it to anyone starting out in the hobby but damn... listen to this bullshit artist and you'll think you're buying the greatest invention to hit the open market since the invention of the wheel???!!!

Dan Paul shot a wild rabbit once and it died one hit so it's good for small game and wild hares are big.

can this gun be fitted with a scope and bi-pod? And would u think this is good for hunting small game (rabbits specifically)
@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 8 лет назад
I have a scope on it now, and a barrel mount bi-pod can work. It is rated for small game, and pest control, but like any air gun, results can vary significantly depending on the ammo you use. Lead hits harder, but flies shorter ranges. Alloy gets greater penetration, and flies longer ranges, but may not do enough damage for a take down depending on where you hit.

@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 10 лет назад
If you mean the little silver ones that I show in the video, yes, but i wouldn't use any others because it is a tight fitting to get it to slot correctly. A smaller one than what I show in the video will likely unseat itself, and blow out completely.
@Zarrakan

Takes 12 gram CO2 cartridges, but I hear there exist adapters for larger canisters. The adapter is out of production though. So probably will have to stick with the 12 gram cartridges.

@Zarrakan

It will "click," and the pellet clip will rotate, but nothing will happen. This is known as dry firing, and really not recommended for an airgun's seals.
@losi8ightyew

Eh I've moved on from rimfires. Mediocre performance, reliability and accuracy for all the trouble you go through. People pig slop up all the ammo, then most of the time its only a couple dollars short of big centerfire ammo by the time you factor in the gas money uou spend tracking it down. Just not worth it anymore. Moved on the high power rifles, .308, 30-06 and .300 WM. For .22, break barrel air rifles or higher end .22 air rifles take its place with less fuss. .22 break barrels give amazing power. I also have a co2 .22 rifle that'll shoot a 1/4 inch group at 50 yards, good luck even getting that accuracy out of any rimfire rifle without spending a few grand. Love my firearms and my air rifles. Sold all the rimfire crap I owned a year ago.

it's really hard to get booolets... lmmfao since when did bullets become booolets?
@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 7 лет назад
There is an ongoing shortage with .22 caliber bullets making them unavailable in most places. Which means if you want to target shoot/practice, you will be spending far more $$ blowing through the higher caliber ammo.

How much range in this gun
@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 6 лет назад
It depends on how heavy the pellets you are using are. Heavier the pellet = Hit's harder + Shorter Range Lighter the pellet = Greater penetration + Longer Range The best way to determine range is to set up a target, pick a range, and see if you like the results you get with the pellets you are using at the range you are shooting at. With the cheap pellets I use, the gun has an effective range of 80 feet.

Re your comparison of this to "real guns." Frankly, this, all air guns, ARE "real guns." The shoot a projectile that is capable of maiming or killing- Though not so likely of killing larger game or humans, that CAN do it if conditions are just right. Not calling it a "real gun" makes it easy to classify one in a person's mind as a "toy." Though fun, they should not be considered or handled like a toy and they should be treated with all the consideration of their more powerful cousins cartridge guns.
@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 10 лет назад
Well yeah. They have air guns that can throw 50 cal slugs at 1000 fps, and that would take a persons head off. Really the only difference between an air gun, and a regular gun is the method of propulsion. Generally air guns are non-lethal to humans at least, and the ones that can be lethal are so expensive that it's just better to buy a real gun if self defense is a concern, BUT I would not want to be on the receiving end of a 1000 fps 22 cal airgun, and those are actually priced about the same as the "real" ones.
@petefarrell4860
@petefarrell4860 7 лет назад
J. Go. the main difference is what I found while doing research. being a felon I wanted to know what the rules and regulations were when it comes to air the federal government does not consider bb and or pellet guns firearms basically because of the way it moves the projectile . just Incase you wanted to know!!!!!!
@847MicRoss
@847MicRoss 7 лет назад
Pete Farrell What state are you from? That's not entirely true. Your statement would make rail guns legal because of the way that they are fired. At first it was that the pellet couldn't be bigger then .179 and couldn't travel at speeds exceeding 1000fps. Then airsoft became popular and helped change that. An airsoft bb is 6mm = .23 and reaches a top speed of 700fps. So they changed the law. Does this mean a potato gun is a fire arm? Not necessarily. While having a big projectile it's fps is quite low. My new understanding of what makes a Gun, a bb gun, and airsoft gun considered a firearm or dangerous weapon is its kinetic energy. Take the mass/size of the bullet x the fps (or some type of math) and it gives you the energy rating in joules. If it's past a certain joule rating then it's illegal. Also is like to note that even if it's legal in your state, it still can be illegal in your town.

@Zarrakan
@Zarrakan 7 лет назад
Before everyone freaks out. Stray FERAL cats can be a problem, and a danger, in some areas to not only family, and pets, depending on how FERAL the cat is, but add in the possibility of RABIES, and the risk becomes even higher. I recommend traps instead of shooting whenever possible, but sometimes there is no other option. Yes, this gun could kill a cat, but it depends on the ammo, and where it is shot.
