( www.TFLcar.com ) The brand new 2013 Chevrolet Equinox is a compact AWD Crossover that's more for getting groceries than getting muddy. But what's is it like to live with the new 2013 Chevrolet Equinox AWD? We spend a week driving and getting to know most vehicles that we review and the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox AWD is no exception. In this video we drive and review the new 2013 Chevrolet Equinox AWD to see how it does in the real world. Nathan spent a week living with the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox AWD to file this Drive and review video.

I've had mine for over a year now. (2013 LT2, FWD, V6) I got it brand spanking new May 1st, 2013. Let me tell you how its holding up. At 8,000 miles I had a problem with the battery that left me DOA. Luckily I was at the dealership to get it checked when it decided to completely fail. They replaced it under warranty, at no charge. At 12,000 miles I got a nail in a tire that required a flat tire repair. And another one at 14,000 miles. Both of these of course are road hazards and not car issues. I've had no other problems with the car at all. GM calls it a Truck/SUV, but in all reality its a car. Specifically, it's a station wagon. It's a short station wagon with tall windows. I've driven it from Utah to North Carolina, and back to Utah, up to New York, and down to Georgia and back... Basically all over the place. It loves to cruse on the freeway at full Interstate velocity. It's comfortable. Throw an Audible book into the sound system via Blue Tooth, and I'm good for 14 hours of travel time. It gets shockingly good MPG's on the Freeway. Better than the 4 Cylinder version gets. I'm about 30,000 miles on it now... It's towed a motorcycle on a trailer across the country, through the Rockies... It's been loaded with a pallet worth of small arms ammunition... And it's carried my family in safety and comfort. All tasks performed with a high level of competence and no complaint from the car. 300 horses the EQ can really get up and go when it's asked to. I only wish it had higher ground clearance and some better control of Torque Steer under full acceleration. Also, the LT2 Doesn't get Navigation. That's stupid. It's the same system as the LTZ, but Chevy doesn't let you have Navigation. The cheap SPARK gets Nav... But not a $32,000 LT2? Still, I'd rate it a 9 out of 10. Other fellows that own competing vehicles, Ford Edge, RAV4, CRV, Sportage... All commented that they should have got an Equinox. One distinct advantage it has... It's invisible to Cop Eye. Highway Patrol just ignores the EQ... even when I slide past them going well over the posted limit. Also... So far it seems to be the only GM vehicle that hasn't had a Recall! *Knock on Wood*

I thought he was harsh as well. My experience with the Nox has been great. The ride is solid, smooth and quiet. Doesn't feel like a truck or van at all. Leather seating is comfortable. Overall appearance is nice inside and out. I think the front end is especially good looking ... flared fenders and all. Radio is descent. Power liftgate is awesome. I like the Nox a lot ... not much to complain about if you ask me.

I think this review was a little harsh... I think the vehicle is pretty good -and they didn't talk at all about the class leading fuel economy. I have the 4 cylinder AWD and I get 31mpg at 55mph. 29mpg at 60. I know the 6 has more power (obviously) but when I bought mine I wasn't looking to bring it on the race track and fuel economy was a big priority. Also, You can get the base 2015 model for under 20,000 and it goes up from there. To get most of the features you would want, you only would need to spend around $27,000. I guess looks is matter of opinion but I think it's a pretty sharp car especially when compared to other competitors in it's class.... The Fast Lane Car thanks for the *unbiased review!

WHAT??? The rear seats do slide fore and aft. This is a great feature when you have a quite tall family. A significant feature when it became necessary to replace wife's previous car. Is the interior cheap? Yes. But I think the bones, the mechanical fundamentals of the car are good. And the Equinox is so much less pathetic with the 3.6L engine. I shopped numerous "crossover"/SUV types of vehicles and notice many were nearly as wide as a full size pickup. That's too wide for an car that is mostly used as an in-town runabout mommy-shopper duties. PS, bought a used 2013 for $16K. Nice depreciation over original purchase price.

It's me again... 60K miles and still no problems. Car still feels like new, still drives like new. I'm about ready to start looking for some new tires on it, normal maintenance stuff... I'm always using full synthetic oil of course. I do with there was some Updates to the Touch Screen software. It seems dated. I'm still kinda pissed there's no Navigation here. Well, there is through On Star. But that's expensive when I'm already paying for XM. Still, the car is still great.

Father inlaw has the 2015 2.4 fwd LT. I had the chance to drive it myself for a couple days and I have to admit the car is very comfortable and saves alot of fuel (30mpg on the hwy - 22mpg in the city). The car feels decently peppy for it only having 182hp and the 6spd automatic is very smooth. I heard early versions of this car burn oil (2010-2012) but luckily this 2015 model has had zero issues for the past 6-years

... this is one man’s opinion not a review.. seriously. I myself have a V6 LT 2015 @ 41k miles, always brings smiles to my face every time i hit the pedal. exterior has a premium feel, interior is far decent and honestly i liked it more than the 2017/18 design... my only complaint is that it has no software update available to add carplay.. chevy.com told me that it is more of a hardware.. other than that. all well and practical... ...will own it..!!

I can see him not liking the V6 versus 4 cylinder and the $36k price. But the Equinox 4 cylinder beats many in its class and is by far the safest in the IIHS tests - something that you cannot say for many of his Jeeps that he loves.

I just bought a 15 equinox LT and like it so far. And its just a 4 cylinder with awd. Definitely not a speed demon but it does decent. I'm used to V6s and V8s that have a but more low end torque and ive noticed that you do have to press the pedal farther for it to go like my V6s do with barely any pedal. The 6spd makes the 4 cylinder very tolerable with close ratios. Its not going to outperform much, but it does the job its made to do just fine. My only issues are the location and methods of turning on the headlights and the stick location and also function for the windshield wipers is very odd to me.

I have a 2013, v6, 2wd, and I love it. Im a 6'-0 tall guy and I had previously bought a f150 lariat and a avalanche ltz, and I always felt like a pickup truck guy. So I bought this for the wife, but I took it to one of my many trips because of work and I loved it because of the amazing mpg, comfort, and it actually feels like it has a lot of power, long story short, the wife now drives the lifted f150 crew cab.

It's 301HP not 264, thats the old specs. The rear seats to move forward and backwards. The Chrome wheels don't look bad, that's a matter of opinion in the eyes of the buyer. Nathan, isn't that V6 the 3.6L with 301 hp? I think the rear seats do move forward and backward, but don't recline. Remember -- Chevy sells over 200,000 Equinoxes annually. So, don't dismiss it. There are lot of Equinoxes where I'm at, but most have the I-4 that still does the work. In this class, who do you think is the best (CR-V, Escape, Tuscon, Sportage, CX-5, RAV4 (pending redesign))?
@Skott62
@Skott62 11 лет назад
I've test driven the 2013 LTZ V6 model and I liked it. Its a shame the V6 doesn't get better mileage than it does though. The 4 cyl will net you better mileage but the V6 is where the power is at. Especially if you plan to tow a small trailer or boat.

This review was based on his opinion rather than an review on the vehicle , which makes this video a waste of time to create and watch. Although the TFL channel is for the most part a decent channel this individual and this review gives it a very negative mark on what people have come to except from the TFL lineup. A review is a review of the vehicle, let the viewers know options and lay out, then the viewers can decide if this vehicle is something they may like. .

In a way, I kinda am. I did test drive its twin GMC Terrain and found it very competitent. However, I test drove the I-4 and just does the job; however, I found its disadvantage are the pillars which are a little thick. I've never tested the Audi, but probably won't because it's out of my league pricewise. Most Equinoxes don't sell for $36k, most start at $22k, but add all the options and you have the tested vehicle that Nathan has here...

YEAH THE SEATS SLIDE!!! There's an easy to use pull handle under the seat that can move forward for more cargo room, or back for more legroom. This car is a great vehicle, and the chrome looks great, and the 4-cyl is plenty unless you plan on towing. Your a little off on this one Nathan. Maybe TFL should start to not put a video out everyday and focus more on quality review. I'm usually a fan, especially of the off road reviews.

I usually agree with Nathan but I disagree with nearly everything you said. The looks are kinda simple I guess but if you want something that stands out more there's the Terrain. The chrome looks great IMO. GM vehicles look good with chrome. The taillights look great. They look like the Trailblazer. And the 4 cylinder is a lot better. This vehicle isn't made to go for fast or tow a lot. There is no point of getting a V6. Oh and what does it really matter if a 30k vehicle has a plastic interior?
