This is not the 19N01 where you replace the transmission lead frame. This is the 19S19 where you reprogram the pcm for sudden downshift in the 6R80 Transmission.
First one of these. Usually it's the 19N01 where you replace the molded lead frame. (basically the solenoids in there. You drop the pan disconnect the electrical connector. Pull the little white tab down and remove it.
New I had this recall Monday I got it back and Tuesday it shifted from 6th to 1st and locked up my tires do you think they did the reprogramming and it's just something else's dose this kind of thing happen?
There's also a recall for the lead frame in the transmission that will cause it to do a sudden downshift. That was the first part of the recall. This part is just a pcm reprogram. Have the dealer run your VIN and see if the lead frame has been replaced. Reprogramming fixes the issue so if they did do it then it won't cause that. But as mentioned the lead frame will. And it has to be replaced. It's not hard to do. But the valve body has to come out of the transmission (transmission doesn't have to come out)
Tool my truck to ford last week to get the update. Everything went well for a couple days then truck still randomly downshifts while driving and wrench light pops on. So stupid 30 grand for a truck and because of a problem on their end i have to pay or of pocket now
Did they install a new lead frame? This recall is only supposed to be done in a lead frame has been installed. Did they even check the lead frame? That's all the solenoids that make it shift.
@BeardedFordTech not that I know of. I talked to them about what was going on in my truck when it was giving me problems, and they literally just told me that all they were doing was a software update. They didn't say anything about replacing a lead frame. Which from what I've seen recently is what needs to be done. I assume the lead frame is gonna be at my expense? The only notification I got from ford themselves about the recall said it was just a software update
@basketcas3717 I don't remember how long the lead frame was extended coverage was for. I would have to look. It's not really a hard job. Transmission pan has to come down. New fluid. Might as well do a filter too. Email me your VIN I ll be able to see if it was ever done
Yes. I think those had a lead frame recall too. I would contact your dealer and give the vin to see if it has ever been done. It's the 2011-2014 trucks. They have the 6R80 transmission.
@@steinarnie if it's a recall it doesn't expire. It has to be repaired. It may fall under a TSB (technical service bulletin) that you would have to pay for. Keep me updated on what they find.
the same thing happened to me at 70mph luckily the road was a little wet or I may have rolled, truck went for a full fishtail bin both directions while I was on a bridge about 300' above the ground on h3 head towards kaneohe and yes I almost soiled myself as well, took it in for the reprogramming and it's still bad I hope they would just replace it
Back in the day when someone said "I'll go to the tool box" they went to a rectangular box with drawers full of tools. Now you open a laptop computer. In the year 2525....
