2013 Ford F150 Jump Seat Center Console Swap 

Tempting, If I did not love my real job so much I would consider doing this for others. In my next video I will be filling in the floor shifter void with a panel and switches for LED lighting

The console shifter would have been a nice touch, but it was much more work than I wanted to put into this conversion. To this day I still have not put in the switches and the slot has not become my snack and beef jerky holder.

I still have the original grey vinly one that I took out of the truck. I will give it for free to anyone that wants to pick it up or pay to ship it.

I did not hook up the rear vents on my install.

If you look around you will find the console that is stand alone. I personally did not like it and wanted it to blend into the dash. Also the lights and electrical are not hard, I still haven't got around to it, but I have utility lights for the front and rear with all the harness, I just haven't got around to installing them and making the video.

@@powerkarma a basic "how to tap into your truck's 12v system" video would be great! Install a light and a switch or something. If I can do it once I can do it anywhere on the truck. Anything would be better than this gigantic monolith of a jumpseat. The leather trim has no cup holders on the back. It is just one big block of leather covered padded upholstery. I can't even find a picture of it anywhere or I'd link it.

I don't remember the exact measurement, but if you use the parts kit I listed in the video then the stereo fits perfect with no modifications.

I'm sure you can, but I know the part are not the same. I'm sure you could fit other year models with some modifications if you want to go that far.

If I recall correctly, 2009 to 2014 are the same, so it should work.

The harness was already there for it from the jump seat I removed. The back of the jump seat had the outlets on the back of it. It was plug and play, however I did splice in an additional connector for future upgrade I'm going to make to the new console.

Yes sir, on the driver side, under the dash, toward the upper left above the main harness pass through, there is a 16 pin connector for the parking module. Pin #1 violet and brown wire is an ignition power going to Fuse 34. I cut the wire from the connector and soldered an extension up to behind the stereo. I also put some additional splits from it for future ignition power, hope that helps

@@powerkarma OK I think you just saved the day! I been working on my radio all night last night trying to figure out why my stereo only powered on when I spliced the red and yellow wires together. Of course doing it that way, the stereo wouldn't turn off when the key is off. Anyways I'm assuming that's the issue you ran into as well leading to you splicing into the other harness you mentioned?

@@joshbrowning3488 Yes, I found the issue right away. So I purchased a subscription through cengage for the wire diagrams for my year and truck. My truck is not using the parking module and it is fused so I just tapped into it. I should have made a video doing the install of the stereo, the custom harness I made to keep the steering wheel button functions and the multi ignition splice location for expansion. I will be going back into the dash soon when I install my 3 LED light bars, and custom switch panel to fill the shifter hole. So I will shot a video of what the stereo harness looks like for future DYIers

Let me add this, I purchased a steering wheel button control module for the stereo. However the one I purchase did not have an ignition control, which I discovered later they make. That is how it really should have been installed and there would be no need to look for an ignition source. I already had the module, so it was easier for me to use what I had and run an ignition source. Plus I will need it later when I make my custom light bar switch panel with blue LED back-lighting on the panel.

You will be doing some customizing for sure, to get what you want. It can be done.

I don't know that I would put that much work into it to move the shifter to the console. I'm going to use the console shifter opening to put my LED light bar switches. right not is makes a good place for my bag of beef jerky while traveling.

I did not like the jump seat, I wanted something that had a deep console and more space to put my junk. I don't plan to carry another human being in the middle seat. I still have the jump seat. I will say based on year model range year 10 to 14 that it should work, however as I learned on my install. the hole spacing on the jump seat and console were off by about a half inch. So I would look at your current truck hole to hole measurement and measure the hole to hole on the jump seat.

I did the swap also and have the mounting bracket and the seat, if interested

when I received my console they included the mounting bracket, for the console, that's when i noticed the difference in the location of the holes

I don't think they make anything to fill it. I was going to put in a piece of plexi glass and cut holes for the switches to my LED light bars.

@@powerkarma hello! I did the same thing to my truck. I have a 2013 f150 tuxedo metallic black. I purchased a harley-davidson consol with the color coded trim as you can Imagine, it looks way better with the console than with the seat. I came across the same issue where the shifter goes and couldn't figure out what to use to cover it. I came across an organizer on Amazon. Ironically, in your case, it's meant for a Toyota. It works well and has the perfect dimension to fit as a storage tray. I left pictures on the review for the product. It will be the only picture about a Ford lol

@@JuanTorres-yc9qg I still plan to install my switch panel for all my LED light bars. I will have 3 switches for LED lights, 1 volt gauge and 1 USB charge port on the panel. I have not got around to it yet with so many other projects I got going on. I will get to it soon and shoot a video of the install. As for now it has become the place to hold my beef jerky bag and snacks while on a road trip.

The 2012 is in the same generation. If you can source the parts you should be able to upgrade the console.

Well... Like many projects I have going on, I have not got around to finishing it yet. Overall everything is functional, it still looks nice with the console and it made it a better travel vehicle. I will get around to it.

I got the console from Ebay, all the other parts I put in the description. The holes matched up with the existing holes from the jump seat.
