Great review buddy. We all gave you a hard time about the "ums" and "uhs" in past reviews. It must have taken a good amount of work to change your speech pattern. Very impressive. Respect.

I really like what Ford has done with the Fusion. I can definitely see the resemblance to the Aston Martin in the front. ViewMyWheels has a ton of great videos on the Fusion as well. Great job Autoguide.

Nice review Mr. Wood. Didn't quite meet the bar you set on your last review, but still good. In the long run, I think this car will be more style over substance and value for money. The new Honda Accord gets my money if Im buying a car in this class.

I can't help but notice that the focus ST and the fusion 2.0T have close to the same specs.. But in this vid you say the fusion feels like its lacking in acceleration.. I'm wondering if it has to do with the ST being a 6 speed manual? Would the paddle shift sport mode on the fusion improve the acceleration issue with the fusion?

I have a 2013 and I love the car except the mileage on my last 4k mile vacation the best I could get for mileage is only 26mpg. Options are fantastic. Tends to run rough now and then and have some hard shift issues. I have the Eco boost engine.

Reviewers seem to neglect the 2.5l Duratec I4 which I bought, it's the most reliable and easy to maintain of the three, I get great mileage from it and it never feels underpowered and I've driven BMWs and VWs with TSI engines before.

I agree about the hybrid not really getting 47mpg. I took one for a rest drive at a dealership and I averaged 38mpg. But then again it was a short 10 minute test drive.

I drove this fusion for my training at my Ford dealer and let me tell you just wow I thought the altima was way better until I drove this car I'm very satisfied

I'm an engine fanatic. I know my engines from vehicles, airplanes, helicopters, etc. The GDi technology is certainly an admirable piece of technology, hence why Ward also has chosen several of Hyundai's engines as their top engines list.

It looks great, but this is $40k (Canadian) for the one with heated front seats and dual zone air conditioning. For that price you can get a Maxima with way more features and power. I find it very highly priced, in Canada at least.

Wow, that's a great looking car! I'd definitely take a second look if I saw it. It'll definitely stand out as far as looks in it's class. I really like it in the red. Definitely the best color for the car. The light blue made the car look cheap. But I don't think I could bring myself to buy a Ford... Looks great, but I have a feeling it will still have Ford reliability. Can't wait to see what the Fusion Sport will look like.

Generally speaking, the 2013-2016 with the 2.5, hybrid and 2.0t are pretty reliable. When they updated the car in 2017, they also updated to the gen 2 2.0t which had coolant intrusion issues. It can still happen on the gen 1 2.0t, but it’s very unlikely as the cylinder head is a closed deck design, whereas the gen 2 is open

Any idea if they are planning a release with a V6 engine for this model fusion,currently i'm having the 2010 fusion sport and i love it but if i'm about to change for another i don't want to go back to a four banger......

I agree that’s why it is more expensive car, you pay for what you get, I just wanted to show you that at least in performance some cars do match European cars. I just wish in the future they match them in luxury, comfort, and refinement as well.

Not sure why everybody is up in arms about the MyFord touch. Man that's the best system out there for a voice activated/touch screen unit. I have never heard or seen a unit lock up or whatever else people are claiming. This car is the sexiest sedan out there when comparing against similar units ie. price and size. People sure get bent out of shape because it looks like an Aston Martin but have you ever seen the line of small SUV's that all look the same. Everyone is copying each other!!!

Good luck trying to get the 47mpg.. It has been noted in several Forums that its a bloated number and people are struggling to get even 40mpg, From a Hybrid...

Off the line power is important to city drivers. I have a 2 way stop where I cross traffic doing 50mph both ways on a multi lane road. I literally need very powerful off the line acceleration and would like to do that with a smooth engine that doesn't need to be strung out so hard, i.e. a V6 would solve this.

These turbo 4's just have a weird sensation when you try to clear an intersection - the lag hinders the off the line power and only fully comes on when you finally clear it. If you continued accelerating then it wouldn't matter as much, but most people will just let off the gas at that point and drive normally. So, yes, it matters.

great looking car! daaamn. wish they would put the stag's v6 in the titanium though. 240hp is ok, but not great compaired the the chrysler 3.6 in the 200 @ 282hp or so.

Sonata no, but I actually cross shopped a Kia Optima SXL against the Fusion Titanium, and I have to say it was actually pretty close. The biggest strike against the Optima was no AWD, which I think should always be at least optional on a 250+ HP car, but it had a little more power and the air conditioned seats is a nice touch - something you rarely see in anything less than entry luxury. I took a fully loaded Fusion Titanium AWD in the end, and you'd have to spend E Class money to get more car.

Taurus. But between the two, definitely the Fusion. However, I'll caution you that if you're very tall, the steeply raked windshield (in this and most other cars with the same 4-door-coupe styling) might make things a bit tight as far as headroom. But otherwise, I think it's plenty roomy for two people. Just don't expect 5 people to fit comfortably.

The host is incorrect to say foot-pound rather than pound-feet. They are not interchangeable, foot-pound is a measure of work such as measuring the kinetic energy of a projectile, pound-feet is a measure of torque.

Eh, they're numbers seem pretty good I think. My friends F150 Ecoboost does about EPA and my Focus does the EPA ratings with a roof rack.

I've been seeing A LOT of these in NYC, so apparently it is selling well. And saying "if you want an Aston Martin go buy an Aston Martin" is just silly. Obviously 99% of households will never be able to afford an Aston Martin, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to drive a good looking car.

The CVT on the Accord is different then other CVT's, it feels like a normal engine but is a CVT.

Why is it that every review I look at it has people commenting bashing a car saying is a copy or knock off of this or that car or some other BS this is a review only people that should be commenting are the people who either own or have driven the car so they can enlighten us on their experience with the car for those of us who are interested in this car and may think of purchasing it, those are the comments I want to see not oh it a cheap version of an Ashton Martin or an upscale focus Blahhhh

6 years is the longest i've seen for a car loan. I've only seen people with bad credit take it that long. If a new car is too expensive, then get an affordable slightly used car and save yourself the initial depreciation or lease a car.

Engines in American cars are generally bigger and more powerful than European ones (and we can afford it, gasoline/petrol is much cheaper in the US). You shouldn't be surprised that the Polo GTI's engine is more powerful than the base Fusion's, considering the Volkswagen's engine is turbocharged, supercharged, and designed for performance where the Ford's was designed to be cheap and efficient.

Wouldn't mind seeing this car as the Falcons replacement in a few yrs in Aus, but the lack of power and it being front wheel drive is very off-putting at least in my eyes. Although now that fuel economy has become something that sells cars i guess Ford have really found their market.

well i see your point but now they have to compete for mpg so your not going to get a v6 most midsize sedans better off with a altima or accord. Most people like to rev their car into high rpms so i dont really understand why you dont.

the new 6 doesn't but yea i would love a v6 i feel it too much pressure for a 4 banger. But they have to have better mpg for that their alternative. The gov't set the mpg you can google it.
